It may be relevant to note that there were Jewish troops stationed in Cyrene under the Ptolemies in the early Hellenistic Era. This may provide a possible mechanism for the origin myth of Cyrenaica that Philippe Wajdenbaum discusses to have come to the attention of the biblical authors.

It may be relevant to note, all history of the east is a fabrication -immanuel velikovsky, anatoly fomenko. Secondly, old testament biblical events happened in the americas. Those "jewz" in their stolen promised land are ashkanazi and kazarian "jewz" neither of which are shemites.

    • @julianpetkov8320
      @julianpetkov8320 Год назад

The Anatolian (aka "the Greek") Oligarchy had not invented the "jews" yet. I would consider your source a very recent fiction. In fact most of the Greek "history" was dreamt up during the Renaissance Classicism, of merchant bankers of Anatolian origins, such as the Medici.
The first alleged use of "jews" or loan collectors was during Sarah-Theodora (the "jewish" queen) Empress of Bulgaria during the Second Bulgarian Empire and second wife of Tsar Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria (ruled 1331-1371). Despite being "jewish" herself, she decided that the "jews" had collected more than enough of the loan, and quickly moved in to confiscate their property. And here we see that "jew" is not an ethnic classification but a profession.
The "Great" Kings of Europe borrowed vast sums from the Anatolian Oligarchy (aka "the Greeks) and had to "welcome" some bizarrely described group of people (the "jews") for reasons which the official narrative is totally silent about. Well the reason is very simple - "Great" Greeks such as Charlemagne, Guilaumes the Conqueror, Napoleonas, Petros I the Greek from Russia, etc. all borrowed money from the Anatolian Greek Oligarchy, but did not want to pay the money back themselves, so the Greek Oligarchy would send their loan collectors to get the loan back from the populations.
Most of the first "jews" were recruited from Thrace (modern Bulgaria an Greece) and Greece/Anatolia (modern Turkey).

The difficulty in this is not offending the believers in the three Abrahamic faiths by taking the exaggerated details as part of the legendary tradition. The moment that you suggest that Abraham didn’t actually live 175 years, they lose their bloody minds.
They have no trouble in believing part of the narrative of the history of Troy is exaggeration, but not their bibles. Those are 100% accurate, no matter how much evidence there is proving otherwise.

Auset (Isis) title Queen of Heaven, Freya title Queen of Heaven, Hera title Queen of Heaven, Inanna title Queen of Heaven, Ishtar title Queen of Heaven, Maria Magdalena title Queen of Heaven, etc. Most of their original names translated means The Lady. There is a bit of a pattern, isn't it?
But then these personified human mind concepts were personified and worhsipped being turned into priestly mouthpieces to aquire power. Real sad. 'Chosen' people... :( The teachings are fine but the religious people exploited it to justify domination claiming being 'virtues' and 'kind'.

In modern times, two male relatives, Wilbur and Orville Wright, fashioned artificial wings and took to the air near a sea coast. In mythology, one of the two flyers fell from the sky and died; one of the two Wright brothers, Orville, fell from the sky when his plane crashed in 1908, killing his passenger and contributing to Orville's death a few years later. I've been following MythVision for two years and find this particular doc best summary of our impulse toward mythologism, if I may.
In literary scholarship, archetypal criticism yields psychological reasons for character types that imply plots, recognized behavior patterns we relate to.
Then w "masterplot" thinking, we find there are only so many stories possible. Just change the names and dates.
Each type of literary criticism shows universal themes in stories. Feminist, Marxist, Archetypal, Formal, Post-Modern, etc. can occupy a brilliant mind thru a satisfying career, but none can tell the whole story of story-ism, if I may.
It is one thing to show influence and precedence, even plagiarism, but another to address and satisfy our needs. That is for creative writers, to may modern myths, such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia.
There I go starting an article instead of just praising the goal of MythVision simply to inform us of exactly what we are reading. Thank you.
I wd like to hear more about our psychological "need" for the same things throughout history.

Both hanging from a tree in a sacred garden, attended to by a priestess & protected by a huge dragon, etc., etc. The kicker: the Greek word for Golden Fleece and Golden Apples is the same, chrysomallon (where chryso signifies golden and mallon can mean either an apple or a sheep). Your discussion of the additional connections with Abraham are fascinating, following the discussions of Philippe Wajdenbaum & Neal Godfrey.

As an atheist of Jewish heritage I've never doubted the pagan origins of Judaism. Almost all figures and motifs within the Bible can be shown to have mythical origins. The Abraham narrative to me always seemed to me to have originated in the interraction of the Hurrians with the Canaanites except that instead of the incoming Hurrians adopting Canaanite practises and ideas the Bible inverts what happened historically with the incoming Abraham bringing the worship of El to Canaan from Harran (the Hurrian homeland).

About the Maccabees. I have a suspicion. After the sea people were defeated by Ramses III they settled in the levante and were called the "Philistines". They probably came from mycenean greece as found pottery from the Philistines tell us. After some centuries those pottery became the same as that from the neighbors in the levante. They might have adopted much of the culture. Now, the bedouine culture is so that sometimes tribes merge for some reason, but before there will be a long powwow of the eldest to find common ground. They will inevitably find a common grand grand grand aunt or father so they can say "we are one tribe anyway". To me the maccabee tells me that some of the philistines got integrated as jewish tribe. Maybe the tribe "Dan". Also the whole Samson story is a bit off in the bible. It reminds a bit of Hercules. Could be from the myceneans to bring a part of their culture into the pot.

Nice sum up about the Philsitines and the Maccabee revolt. However I reason that the Hebrew Faith is roughly from 300 bce yet it gets poured into its form we are aquinted with today in the 1th century ce. Most peoples in Roman Southern Syria or Palestine weren't the Jews we know today. There is a possibility that the original Hebrew Faith died out and its legacy modified even more and the religion was reignited by rebels that fought against the Romans getting traction by the common people. And then the Romans to combat one new occult teaching created another brandnew occult teaching the Gospel using Hinduism (Krishna tied to tree pierced in his side by an arrow, after three days rises again etc), Mithras (polulair with the Roman soldiers) and Eleusis Mysteries.

Shree Abraham was an incarnation of The Almighty, He was one of the Ten Adi Gurus, the guru principal of God, that gave us the 'Good direction, the Spirit that which we are, have ten valances to sustain its self, written in the Bible as the Ten Commandments, after Self Realisation/second birth, our attention becomes enlightened by the Spirit, it becomes sustained by the Spirit, then we become the witness, we become detached and so thus Matter can dominate us no more, our Spirit then becomes the Guru and all these bad habits drop of!
The seed of Abraham is of Spirit and not of the flesh!

I'm complicated. I kinda grew up Christian and converted to Catholicism as a teen with my mom. Now my son is going to the same Catholic school where we converted. My mom is 100% a believer. I'm not sure, I have a bs in Anthropology and learned to respect all religions and cultural practices. The more i delved into any one culture, i saw similarities between neighboring civilizations. This theory of biblical characters being based on greek myths is extremely fascinating to me. I remember how much of my learning during convention was "this is allegory" "this is a metaphor" "this is using everyday life to help explain....""this is using the local.... to help explain.... to the locals if that region". Kinda makes sense to me, and kinda explains why Christianity took off during the Roman Empire. Most of the roman citizens were aware of roman(greek inspired oftentimes) myths and another greek inspired mythology wouldn't be that unfamiliar and would actually help to spread ideas.

Great work. Since my childhood I could never accept that the God of Love asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son just to test him in faith. Or that the same God of love killed by the hand of his angel the infants of the Egyptians. The first act reminded me more of Zeus who always had issues testing mortals with "impossible missions". The second reminds me Herod killing all infants when Christ was born. Since many testimonies and prophecies of the oracles of Delphi known as Sibyls, many details about Christ's life and deeds/miracles had been foretold thousands of years BC even about his second coming found translated in Latin in Ciceron's writings who died BC. These prophecies since they are so old, they might had travelled the world up to India governed by Alexander's generals for centuries and therefore we hear from India about the God Krishna (Kristos) or other similar stories and that is why we see similar personalities like Jesus both in far East and West. What is astonishing and deserves a lot of attention are the details Apollo gives about Jesus claiming that "Jesus is my God" after foretelling his birth by holy Mary, some of his miracles and his crucifixion, and in another prophecy about the all mighty God his says "... small part of him, angels of him we are". These prophecies reveal a different history about Greece which was concealed by specific emperors of Byzantium and the Romans who forbitten the books of Sibyls. This history really worth looking into.

Perhaps Apollo then pulled out his IPhone and shared a few pics of Jesus, or an email that Jesus sent him...
U see what we are actually talking about is a veryyyy ancient POLITICAL SITUATION THAT WAS BETWEEN TWO ESOTERIC MYSTERY SCHOOL BASED CULTS, each of which wanted to be in charge of this world...
And on one side of this esoteric political battle for supremacy was the MOON CULT...and their symbolic moon god was called "SIN"...and they would worship their moon cult God symbol on their sacred mountain range which was called "AI" at that time...thus "mount SIN-AI" story was born...with the moon cult rules being given to them by their respective moon cult deity...
While, simultaneously, the opposition had the SUN CULT running their political agenda...
Thus their symbolic gods were all representing attributes of the SUN... Apollo the SUN God, Amen RA the SUN God, Jesus the SUN God, etc...
And the Sun Gods political cult would obviously hold their gatherings on SUN day...while the Moon cult meetings would be held at SIN-agogues after sun down, and when the moon came out...
And as a sign of disrespect the SUN cult would call the Moon cult members "sinners"...WHY?
Bc they were not following their SUN God's list of rules, or joining their Sun cult... thus, the mystery school esoteric political battle was on...

These demi-gods were Fallen Angels, who were stripped of their original physical bodies by God, the Father. But they could still manipulate their SPIRITS in and out of hybrid bodies. These hybrids included Shiva, Thoth......The children of the Fallen Angels were Nephiliim GIANTS. Ancient mythology is full of stories of these hybrids. These entities are SINISTER and have always known of God's plan to send His Son , Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the cross. They MOCK the One True God, of the Bible; and that is why there are so many similarities to the Biblical narrative.

Those already passed on to a nether world and the ones still living? The Einsteins and Darwins and Galileos' and Copernicus's? Who are they, the greats of the greatest brilliant learned scholars and intellectuals? We all know who they are and were: THEY ARE ALL MORTAL! What makes them different from the normal us if they too are but slaves to a mortal existence, what power of different authority do they hold if they cannot, like us, a lower form, break the barrier of death that holds us captive, and cannot at will of choice return from beyond the grave and unseen realm of pass the threshold of death? Even those who claim the insanity of time travel, where, one asks excel their power of boundless access to manipulate time if they cannot step into the infinity of unseen DIMENSIONS at will and return from the beyond of the edge of time into the sphere of the very portals of death, what hold their fantasies of time travel if it is but mere an enlightened wish to travel on the waves of time but bound to that which is nothing but a fantasy image of their own world, and not a one beyond the threshold of death? Today they may slip into a sense outside the day order of hours and minutes yet in their tomorrow eternal captives of the gates of death and can never return?
UNLESS OF COURSE WE HOLD INDEED THE POWER TO BREAK THE BOUNDARY OF DEATH DWELL BEYOND AND SEE THAT WHICH IS UNSEEN, AND TRAVEL WITHOUT TIME AND RETURN AT WILL, THEN THEY ARE THE TRUE MASTERS OF KNOWLEDGE AND FAR DIFFERENT THAN MERE MORTAL SLAVES OF THIS HERE LIFE, WHICH RUNS OUT FASTER THAN THE SHADOW OF A CHAMPION SPRINTER AND NO LONGER THAN THE LIFE OF A DAY LABOURER.

The excavation of the encampments where the builders lived during the construction shows tools and other evidence of paid laborers. When I was a seminarian in the mid 80s (1984-1986), I wrote a paper on the Akedah, and how it was completely foreign to modern moral sensibilities. How-severed from the Christian interpretation of it being some sort of foretelling of Christocentric substitutionary atonement-it was a stark, existentialist, and mysterious. God will provide a way-but by what cruelty, and at what cost? It was the story of a terrible god. I had left any form of literalistic historical interpretation years before this when I was in college. And yet, as I wrote this paper and thought about the text I was studying, I knew I was missing something in this story. It was SO FOREIGN. But, whatever it was, it was a picture of a very, very alien understanding of the mysteries of the holy. My Old Testament seminary professor was horrified at the conclusions in my paper. It was, as far as I’m concerned, the best paper I ever wrote. I had no idea of the turmoil in Old Testament Studies at the time. I wish I had known about these scholars back then.

The authors had access to the shelves of the Library, which included not only Egyptian records but everything both they and the Greeks had collected from prior Empires throughout the region. This explains how you get source-texts from across big stretches of space and time. It's also likely that Persian instructions to the "Returners" (read: Persian colonial administrators transplanted to rule Yehud under the pretext of being former Elites that had been rulers there already before), who effectively found Judaism, are incorporated into the text as well. Parts of Deuteronomy are pretty clearly portions of these instructions/contract with these transportees.

The Septuagint is the most accurate Old Testament, around 100 a.d. they invented a new Hebrew Old Testament to translate out the connection to Jesus Christ
One of the main issues is they changed the dates to not match up, with the Hebrew text the earth is currently 6000 years old, so Jesus can’t be the messiah, with the Septuagint the earth is currently 7600 years old, matching up date wise with Jesus being Christ
There are other stuff they changed, but Christian’s pretty much fixed 90% of their errors by 1200 a.d.

Awesome as all Derek's productions. One thing that struggles me in these explanations. I always thought about Isaac's story as a message: Jahweh doesn't demand sacrificing children as the Canaanite's deities did (so Jahweh is the real god). This would point to human sacrifice as the origin of Isaac's story but the practice of child sacrifice is much older (before 500 or 600 BC) than hellenism - 300 BC.

      YHWH did indeed demand sacrifice.
That's been redacted, for the most part.

Wondering if this isn't when YHWH got "divorced".

    • @tw9472
      @tw9472 Год назад +2

@@jennifersilves4195 The only way human could have try to affect deity's decision was to give this deity the most precious thing - child. Child sacrifice was present in different cultures - Incas did it too and not that long ago compared to Canaanites. Something unthinkable now was thinkable then. Canaanites (or ancient Israelites) were probably one of the first realizing it shouldn't been done, wrote this down as God's words and this made their God so popular. After giving it more thoughts - the hellenistic influences in Levant most likely predate Alex the Great. Greece could easily affect Pentateuch stories even before 300BC 🙂

Callisto was an avatar of the goddess Artemis. Artemis was originally a she bear goddess, and Callisto was turned into a bear. I could best be described as an agnostic in the modern terms,. I am not a faith based person. However, I did major in history in college so I know a little something about that. TBH, I have seen more than enough convincing evidence that Moses was likely a priest in Egypt. The Israelites influenced Greek culture just as it said in Maccabees. The Greeks absorbed the Tribe of Dan around 1500bc who in Greece became known as the Danoi, they split off in boats during the events of the Exodus. While the Israelites lived in Egypt they were known as the Habarou (not much of a stretch from HEBREW and their depictions in art look very Semitic). The Exodus likely happened around the time of Ahnkenaten, the first Monotheistic Pharaoh. After his death, his family and followers had to flee Egypt because the old Egyptian priest class took back power, His daughter Scotia likely wound up in Ireland and its where the Scots took their name. Archeological evidence of a small Egyptian presence in Ireland has been found. Noah was based on a real person otherwise known as Umapishtan in Mesopotamia, the flood "myth" is in creation tales all over the world and we now understand there was massive worldwide flooding during the Younger-Drays period. All I'm saying is if these people might have existed, Abraham may have been based on a real person, we should give more credence to the ancient myths as holding grains of true history We find more and more evidence all the time that pushes back the dawn of civilization into the last Ice Age.

    Brahman - Abraham
Flavius Josephus …(in the) Antiquities of the Jews … quotes Aristotle (384 b.c.e.-322 b.c.e.) as saying that Jews are derived from the Indian philosophers and are known as the Calani. Clearchus of Soli was a student in Aristotle’s school. In his book, De Somno, he elaborates on the story of how Aristotle discovered this information, but the basic concept remained the same.
Megasthenes was an ambassador of Seleucus I of Syria to India, before the latter’s death in 288 b.c.e. Megasthenes wrote that the Jews were an Indian tribe or sect called Kalani. Except for the spelling he agreed with Aristotle and Clearchus. Higgins also claims that Ur of the Chaldees, the home of Abraham mentioned in the Bible, was actually Ur of the Chaldeans. “Chaldean,” he continues, is actually “Kaul-Deva” or the Holy Kauls, a Brahmanical caste of India. He writes that the tribe of the Brahmin was expelled from or left India and settled in Goshen in Egypt. -

We can discuss all day who influenced who BUT the question is why? If it's just a foundational narrative like the scholars are saying then why wouldn't you just write your own better version ( one reason I would argue the Greek version is later because it is more detailed than the Jewish one but there are other more fundamental reasons)

The arguments that state why the greeks cannot be the ones copying the bible can be easily refuted:
    1) Throughout history, it is always the earlier texts that appear fragmented, not linear and with some parts missing or changed, not the other way around. Meaning that the orderly fashion, completeness and linearity of the greek myths point to them being the newer text, not the older.
    2) The same could be said about the argument that the greek authors were known by name and questions on why they did not reference the old testament if they copied from it. In many old cultures naming authors was not common, and let's not forget that the old testament itself is claiming a divine origin, do you think that an author would have put his name on a text he himself believes comes from god?
And examples of newer authors omitting their source or inspiration or not even knowing enough to name it can be found throughout history. It was not common practice in olden days to write the titles of books on the cover, let alone the names of authors. And sometimes when copying works those informations were forgotten and lost.
When comparing two works that share similar stories, it is way more logical to assume that the newer copied the older or at least was based on oral tradition originated from the older work than saying that the older one cannot possibly be that old and was copied from the newer one.
