Bangladesh might not be the best place for your honeymoon. But if you like adventure and drama, then Bangladesh is definitely the place for you! THIS COUNTRY IS DIVERSE yet weird at the same time. One Tip: Try to visit countryside and also Sylhet, Chittagong, Chandpur. These cities are very different than each other and you will get an idea of how people of different income bracket lives in this country! And ask the locals for suggestions. Try to interact with younger people cz they will most likely speak some english.

Your travel experience in Dhaka sounds truly captivating! The way you've shared the city's vibrant culture, bustling streets, and unique charm is simply heartwarming. It feels like we've traveled alongside you, discovering the wonders of Dhaka. Thanks for sharing this amazing journey! 🌏❤
your videography and the way you showed Dhaka is amazing, thanks for your optimistic view on this new Bangladesh.. waiting to see more positive videos... love from Canada... Have a good one!
Without visiting the countryside, you won’t get a true sense of Bangladesh. Many people living in Dhaka don’t actually enjoy residing there, but they stay for work and return to the countryside whenever possible. For example, during the two Eid festivals, Dhaka becomes nearly empty, making it the best time to explore the city without facing any traffic jams.
🌍✨ Heading to my chaotic motherland, yet managing to navigate life there like a true pro... Salute to you! 💪💚 Your strength and resilience truly showcase your extraordinary spirit! 🌟 May Allah bless you abundantly with all the happiness in this life and the next! Ameen! 🤲💖
It's sad this has only 16K views. You deserve way more. As an Irish - Bengali, and I come across as more Irish, it can be very overwhelming even for me when I am there. At least outside of the DOHS area (which is great) we have property. But outside of such areas, Gulshan, etc, just getting outside of Dhaka is always a relief lol.
Hey thanks very much! As a fairly small channel, I'm actually pretty happy and surprised by how many people viewed it 🙂 I must have underestimated the interest of Bangladeshi viewers, compared to my predicted audience (other outsiders planning to travel). Yeah I can imagine! There's a bit of a culture shock or adjustment period each time I've been. I adjust to most aspects quickly, but I think other facets are more difficult (like the noise and air pollution). I love the craziness of Dhaka, but getting out is definitely is a nice break 😁
I have spent my whole life in Dhaka, I have visited India maybe like 50 times, but the only 2 places where I was about to get duped were Paris and Athens..... so it's kinda racist of the world when "is Paris safe for solo travel" videos are not made but "is Dhaka safe" is a concern
Hey I see what you mean, and appreciate the feedback. I actually wanted to help oppose this stigma (and funny enough, I've heard a lot about Paris being unsafe) Perhaps another title would be better for the video? I'm open to suggestions.
@@hashemmcadam you can give a title like " My experiences of Dhaka as a solo traveler." keep the original one if you must. As a Bangladeshi I don't mind any. After all No one can force anyone to change the presumption of Bangladesh.
U didn’t mention about many other peaceful places like sylhet division, Chittagong hill tracts, Sunderbans, saint Martin’s island 🏝️ surrounding beaches of cox bazar, north Bengal : Rajshahi & Rangpur division known for peaceful archaeological sites
Great video, Hashem - as always! :) I was not aware that the Luke.D incident got as much airtime locally as it did. I wonder why it invoked so much attention? As disappointing as that was, I think you're right in highlighting that its not a unique aspect of traveling in places as textured as Dhaka. Provided you can keep your wits about you, travel in Dhaka (with a camera) is oh so rewarding. Especially with a 28mm!
As a local we also faces this types of beggars often.Even you have to be careful when you consider to give money someone cause when ever I have given some one others came asking for the same in that same spot😢.so,we ignore them and gateway quickly.feel sorry for them but this is reality.welcome to Bangladesh 👍🇧🇩
Please also consider visiting outside of Dhaka especially Chittagong and Sylhet. There is more to Bangladesh than just Dhaka. Dhaka is the capital city, like many other capital cities in Asia it is overcrowded. In terms of safety try to go out after 8 to 9am in the morning and try to be back at a safe place within 8 to 9pm at night. There are specific areas where the possibility of occurring crime is higher than other area, try your best to avoid them. Hope you will enjoy your time in Bangladesh. Good luck.

I am a Bangladeshi and have been watching Luke's videos for a long time even before he travelled here. It was really disappointing to see some of our people's reaction to that incident. A lot of people were taking the beggar's side saying that Luke did all that for attention and what not. When in reality that beggar was clearly a scammer. But a lot of people were fooled by his physical appearance such as him being an old man with white beard, wearing the traditional dress called panjabi and a white cap. Typically this type of outfit is seen as religious in our country, so many people thought that was just a poor innocent man asking for some financial help. But that was not the case in Luke's incident. And Luke handled the situation quite well as well, he stood firm and didn't cause a scene. It wasn't his fault that the police later arrested the beggar, he just highlighted a real incident that happened and can happen with any other traveller. Anyway, thanks for travelling to my country, and showcasing the good things that it has to offer.
Interesting! Yeah I would think if he noticed Luke was filming, he would have not followed him as much. Oh well, a minor incident at the end of the day. Thanks for the encouragement!
Travel Dhaka less and other popular districts more. For safety: always listen your sixth sense and look around. Try to research a little of any place that you like to visit. People are mostly nice and you will get help in any situation hopefully.
I am from Bangladesh and Dhaka (or any other place in Bangladesh) isn’t the safest place for solo travel. It’s better to hire a guide and talk to the younger generations because they will speak English, the university students are the most reliable option, they’ll try to help you as they are educated, their behaviour is more moral and ethical. People here get over excited when they see a foreigner. They will try to scam you (like what happened with Luke) and absurdly overcharge you for even the smallest products. It’s not the best place for tourism, but if you want a different wild experience maybe you should visit.
Beggar is around the globe even london, New York, Paris, munic, Tokyo etc. Even if you go to Paris lots of crawly.
