I work at Best Buy and love your reviews. We don't get much cross training so I have to rely on RUclips channels... great job 👍
Thanks, happy to help. Maybe the San Diego location will show me some love but they don’t even though i have bought over 20 TVs from one of the locations and they couldn’t care less.
My 2019 Samsung has dark areas so Im thinking of replacing it with the CU8000- is it worth getting Protection Plan for $80
That’s a personal preference
@@TechSteve Well my screen just got dark on my 2019.
If you don’t feel comfortable buy the warranty, I review TVs so I don’t use them enough to predict how long they will last. If they fail which hasn’t happened i just recycle them and move on. It’s different for consumers
Hey Tech Steve, I purchased the CU8000 over the 7000 thanks to this review. I have an AV receiver with L+R+C speakers, so the difference in sound EQ doesn't apply this time around. Thank you for calling that out.
can u tell me by any chance , is the cu8000 slimmer than cu7000
Thank you for the review. I prefer the CU7000 as the CU8000’s saturation is too much for me and the CU7000’s sound quality is way better, but that’s my opinion.
Most people have soundbars or home theater systems so sound quality is irrelevant.
@@Revolver1981 well it certainly does matter. i would disagree. the average person relies on the sound from the TV itself. very much so relevant. not everyone can afford an extra sound system.
@@900ug You really need a soundbar these days to take advantage of the different audio codecs. What's the point of having a TV with Dolby Atmos without a proper sound system?
still irrelevant@@Revolver1981
For me it was easy choice. Just save money and go for CU7000 as I am coming to this tv world from my current hd tv 😊
Thanks for the review. My mom is considering to get one of both models for her home. Your review pretty much sums up the CU7000 more than delivers what she expects in her day-to-day viewing experience, so there isn't need to shell out slightly more for the CU8000.
Thanks for the review! I'm from Brazil and I didn't find absolutely no video comparing the two televisions, then I found you! Thanks😊
You’re welcome
Only with experience from moving from a 7 series to 8, I noticed the TV memory is 4gb to 7 series 2gb. This means streaming is better on 8. Also the Bluetooth can connect to soundbars, where 7 series cannot. I feel sound and blacks are better on 7 series, but it's never been an issue when watching anything. These are two things that are rarely picked up when these sets are reviewed. I can also set basic Samsung soundbars equaliser settings on screen, by pressing up in sound on home bar. Everything else is covered in your videos. Keep the great content coming 🙃
I can hook up my 7000 to my sound bar without any problems
@@Bruhman514 how is it connected? I know the arc will connect, or optical. I just know Bluetooth doesn't, and the 7 series I had wasn't eArc, just arc which doesn't send Dolby Atmos from inputs or streams. They will connect, but some features on the 8 series aren't available 👍🏼🙃
Very well presented comparison. You helped me decide finally. Thank you alot i am a subscriber now
Thanks
Thank you so much for the comparison!!! I really appreciate it, as I was on the fence about these two TVs.
You’re welcome, happy to help
Thanks for the upload, I was told tvs are going on sale this upcoming semester and get one
great comparison! thank you! was looking for one like this after having some buying guilt from buying the CU8000.
Buyers remorse?
Good day Steve. I am a person who has low vision. I was in the market for a TV for my computer setup. Because of your reviews I was able to select a TV that was right for my needs. I
Thank you Steve. I am looking at both these TV's, and the CU7000 is actually $185 more expensive than the CU8000 (in Norway), so thanks to this video, I know which one I will get 🙂
Hi Bro, did you buy CU8000? If so, what size and are you satisfied???
Thanks for the good review of these two seemingly identical TVs. your thoughts make it easier to consider one versus the other!
The cu8000 has voice remote
Thanks for the great video as of now I'm picking up a 75-inch from Costco and the colors for the 8000 seems great but I'm getting that 7000 for my budget and I think I'm going to love it wish me luck! and thanks again for the great video! 😀👍
Excellent work.Like how tv has speakers don't have to buy sound bar out of the box. I like the CU8000 Does these contain usb 3 ports and can you play media from usb?
Thank you very much for your video. This was most accurate video to understand the differences between these two tv screens.
Hi Steve, here in my homeland Turkey, 65CU8500 and 70CU7100 models are at the same price. Which one would you recommend? Should I buy 70CU7100 or 65CU8500? Thank you in advance for answering.
Thanks for the video, made me decide on the CU8000B
Thx for your reviews. I’m still so so confused. Lol. Subtle differences and preferences you say. I’ve watched your reviews on other Samsungs. Viewing angle is a factor in my case. What kind of panels give the widest viewing angle? Is the TU690T of a different panel design I’m in North America. I’m need a 43” for the space in question. I just returned a Hisense A65H. The picture was horrible compared to my AU8000 or Q69. I was really surprised and dissatisfied. I did research too. Your opinion is welcomed.
What is better the Du8000 or Cu7000??? Which one is the latest one? Also how is the Au8000 comparing? Im confused on which is the latest and the sequence
My x80 k broke lol screen is messed up for some reason. Loved that tv
Would a cu8000 be a big step down? I’ve watched your comparison video an it did seem like preference. Or should I go with the tcl Q7
If you listen carefully CU8000 has a better sound quality with less distortion. The CU7000 saturation can be easily adjusted to match the 8000's. The major difference that you didn't mention is CU7000 has almost double contrast ratio so it can reproduce much more details in dark areas. On the other hand, CU8000 has about 20 percent higher brightness which results in a better HDR. CU8000 also feature a better upscaling, makes FHD contents look better and sharper, while CU7000 has a lower response time which improves gaming experience and watching sport. All and all it comes to personal taste. Me personally care about contrast a lot so it's Cu7000 for me.
On Amazon in my country, the 8000 is 10 dollars more. So I may as well go for that one.
Wonderful comparison thanks
You’re welcome
I just ordered the CU8000 but I know the speakers are 20watts and I wear hearing aid so I was thinking of getting an all in one soundbar with qsymphony and that center speaker for voice clarity. What do you think about the Samsung 3.0 HW-S50B?
Hello Steve.
Can I please steal a moment of your time?
I am on a budget, and want to buy myself a 55" TV. I am currently looking at TV's like Samsung CU7000 and CU8000.
I can stretch my budget some, and look at TV's like Samsung Q60B, Q70B, Q80B and Q60C.
What would you recommend?
I use my TV for some light gaming (some GTA5 and RDR2), movies and TV-shows.
What about other brands? Are there better TV's out there that are better than Samsungs, within the same price range?
Thank you for your time.
Great review thanks a lot
VERY GOOD VIDEO BROTHER 👏🏾
well done sir, a very well explained
Hello Steve. I wish to ask between TU 7000 Series and CU 8000 series which is best ?
I think I made that video already, search the channel
I enjoy your reviews, they are informative and helpful. I have a 42" Toshiba TV that's starting to show it's 'wear & tear" and I'm looking to replace it. Like the saying goes, "Go Big or Go Home". I 've been looking at the 65" Samsung CU7000 Crystal TVs and your reviews have been helpful. Thank You
My 27" Toshiba I bought 15 years ago just died tonight 😞.......I looking to buy this 8000.
Hi Steve,
Great review! I'm new to this so apologies if this is redundant, but what's the difference between the TU7000 vs CU7000?
I think cu7000 is newer model
@@Ih1211yes it a new one
Which one has deeper blacks?
It's like the only thing I wanna know!
In low light conditions that will have a greater effect on colours than processing, at least when they so alike in every other aspect
7000 has almost double contrast and much deeper blacks
The main differences I find are the smart remote, double the Ram memory on the 8 series, and Bluetooth and hdmi connection on the 8 series, 1 more, where the 7 series don't have it. The 7 I had, had better blacks and sound😮, but the 8 was brighter.
Great Video. Thank you.
for me it just comes down to sizes. because with the 7000 series you have more sizes to choose from. with the 8000 you just get all the same old sizes like 55 65 75 85 and you don't get the 50 60 70 like you get on the 7000. I live in a small apartment so being able to have the exact screen size that I need is important.
The cu8000 has voice control and some other features tho
Looking for a 50-55 inch around $600 to use as a PC monitor in a bright room. Either of these fit the bill? It seems like the 50" Q60B might be the best bang for the buck?
Go with the Q60B
No, neither of those TVs actually, and not the Q60B either. All of those TVs uses a BGR subpixel layout as opposed to the RGB subpixel layout that traditional computer monitors use. This means that any fine lines or small text that appears on that screen will likely have a blurry edge or halo around it that will make it hard on the eyes. That blurry text can lead to eye strain or eye fatigue over an extended period of time. You are much better off to go with the Sony X75K or X80K that both use a RGB subpixel layout that provides a far crisper display of small text and fine lines (often found in word processing apps and in spreadsheets). If you are looking for a large-format TV to use as a computer monitor those two Sony models are always two of your very best choices for that reason.
Could you please let me know if the CU8000 has any issues connecting to Bluetooth earbuds?
Hello Tech Steve. Which one is better at motion handling?
This and HDR are my biggest questions. I don't know where to find the answer.
I think it is necessary to mention that cu8000 has multi view only in America. The rest of the world only gets it from cu8500 or higher.
When I got mine I wanted to look how to enable it and didn't find it in Europe, only to find out that it is available only on 8000 models in the US 😅.
You mentioned in the video that CU8000 85 inch has 4 HDMI ports. But the specs I found only listed 3
Hello Steve thank you for another great video!
I’d like to add on a different note that the Sony 50-X80K I bought a couple months ago on impulse was just a teeny bit disappointing for me.
I had no idea that a google TV meant it’s a google TV. I had to go through all the jumps and hoops and enter passwords and all that stuff.
Technical question out of curiosity does the CU8000 blow my Sony out of the water? It would be upsetting if I had to trade it in for a non-google TV. Plus the fact my wife might be very upset! 😎
Here’s your answer ruclips.net/video/VFxBye4T_KY/видео.html
this made my decisions so much easier you never disappoint me every Samsung TV I have got is because of you thanks to your wonderful awesome reviews, you are straight to the point and honest..thank you

hi steve what's the better between tcl p745 and smasung cu 7000
The TCL isn't a USA model, I know nothing about it. You can try www.displayspecifications.com/en
@@TechSteve thanks steve but i think Samsung screen is not supported dolby vison and Dolby Atmos and wild color gamma and I don't know if that would make much of a difference in the picture
Hey Steve, between what’s in stock at my local Best Buy, do you think I should get the CU7000 or the AU8000?

Hello steve
I want to ask a question,
I planning on buying samsung 55bu8000 but sony x74k also costs the same as bu8000 in my country, so i wanted to ask which of these two should I buy,
You’re asking about 2 models that I haven’t reviewed
@@TechSteve oh ok
I have the Samsung m8 monitor at home, if I were to turn on my monitor with the m8 remote, will it also turn on these Samsung tvs in close proximity?
Hello there, luv your videos but now I have a question, maybe you can help. I just got a 50" CU7000B but no-one can tell me anything about the "B" including the chat staff at Samsung... (sad right). The guy at Best Buy said it's a 2023 version (as far as he knows), can you help?
Thank You .. Dragon
The “B” is for Walmart
“D” is from Costco
@@MrTuskegee1 Thank you as it seems the host didn't want to answer my question, or maybe I did it wrong.
Hi,, can you make a video review for Samsung 55" Crystal UHD 4K CU8100 Smart TV, thanks.....
Hi Steve, thanks for the comparison. Is the image quality better in the CU8000?
Isn’t that what the video is for?
@@deeser286 that wasn’t my intention, but I work hard to provide these details in the videos i create
anyone did the 20pt color calibrations on each model then compared colors? I know the color calibrations u get online arent for every TV(has to be done on each tv on its own personally) but it sure does make colors pop, and teaches you what junk settings to turn off such as the smooth motion garbage thats enabled by default on most modern tvs.
Hi Steve, is it possible to manually adjust the color of the 7000 to equal that of the 8000?
I know you asked Steve this question, but as a person who owns both models I've noticed that you can calibrate the colors on the 7000 to look very similar to the cu8000, but no matter what the 8000 is going to have more richer saturation
Why not just get the 8000 instead of messing around with the settings.
@TechSteve to be fair the 8000 is over $100 more and not in everyone's budget 🙉
@demetrioscharalambous-ck7bm be patient and buy what really works for you. Budget yourself
@@TechSteve agreed
no matter what the difference is, nothing is being understood, mainly the two are working very cleanly...NICE..
Ive heard that the CU8000 has very little bass to the point where its barely enjoyable to watch things. Is this true?
Get a Soundbar
I have the 8000. Compared to the 6 year old Samsung model, that gave up on me, I am not impressed.
This tv is very very slow when changing between channels. Sometimes up to 7 seconds. The old model from 6 years ago was instantly. And the old model was the same price range, (forget model number) so Samsung moved backwards it seems 🤷♂️
What panel used both?
Hello Steve, How do you use the ambient mode on the Cu8000. I can’t seem to figure it out?
No ambient mode on those tvs and dont know why Steve said thete is an ambient mode on cu8000
@barisgalipoglu4827 thanks for watching
can u tell me the depth of the cu7000 in cm and the depth of the cu8000
do you have a video that talks about the differences between CU8000 and CU8500 ?
worth a replace a au9000 for a cu7000? or anything better for about 700bucks
I just got the cu7000 and I’m actually thinking about return it and get the cu8000 the reason is this 4:42 u can see how the 7000 looks darker and that’s what I’m disappointed I had a tu8000 2020 and for me it looked better i been trying to fix the colors and all but they just don’t do it for me
I would get the Q60C
Boost the color and brightness settings?
@@TechSteveis cu60c is better that cu7000 right
Hi steve, which model would you prefer personally? Especially if the cu7000 is 200 bucks cheaper? Also do you think its comparable to x80k? Or do you think x80 is way better?
Is it qled or crystal uhd? Header says uhd, inside tv qled name coming!!

I won the cu7000 in a giveaway 😂 so, it's perfect for me since it's for free. In matter of fact, it's the best TV in the history of humanity 😂
No one seems to know the difference between the CU 8000 and the CU 8000B. Can you explain it???
Never heard of a B, sometimes retailer gets different models made so they don’t have to price match
I have the 7000. Does the 8000 remote [mic] work on the 7000?
Nope
Awesome, I've been looking for this video. It looks like there isn't as much difference picture wise between the CU7000/CU8000 as there was between the TU7000/AU8000.
I'll be interested in seeing these guys against the upcoming Sony X77L as well was the LG UR75 and UR9000. I'm impressed with the CU8000. It may end up being in the office in my new house. I'm going to build a faux window since I won't have any windows. A nice thin TV would be ideal.
The colors on the CU8000 blows away the CU7000 on HDR tho
@@TechSteve True, but as compared to the differences in the prior generation... We used to refer to the TU7000 as a boomerang because many of them that went out the door came back. We always try to get folks to bump up to the AU8000 if they want Samsung.
I don't think the CU7000 will be the same. I'm quite impressed by the gaming performance.
The store I work at is in an area where over 50% of customers (it may be as high as 70%) do not have internet service of sufficient speed to support streaming in 1080p (forget HDR). I hear every weekend I work from folks complaining that the best they can get in their area is DirecTV or Dish Network. In that case, HDR isn't a concern (that is changing of course).
I’m spoiled with fiber with 500mbps up and down. I can’t imagine not have it anymore. I feel bad for them
@@randallsmith2521 Exactly correct, the TU7000 and AU8000 models are consistently two of the most returned TV's - at any store. This is because people come in and buy them just based on their low price and Samsung's marketing/advertising reach, without first having done any actual research or homework on them at all. Then, they get them home and find out that basically terrible TVs they are a completely letdown/disappointment, at SO many different levels. So, they bring them back and return them. Walk into any store at any time and you are likely to see upwards of a DOZEN Samsung TU7000/AU8000 models available as Open Box items in the back of the store for that exact reason. Now, it looks like the CU7000/CU8000 are reasonable improvements for 2023 over the TU7000/AU8000, but they still aren't anywhere even close to what the Sony X75K is when all features and capabilities are taken into account - at a very similar price point. So many people just assume that they can't ever go wrong by purchasing a Samsung TV. Unfortunately for them, nothing could possibly be further from the truth - and that's STILL the case in 2023.
Also you have to use high quality sources like streaming apps, people are using old 1080p boxes and hope upscaling does miracles. Good in good out
Only 1 usb port on a huge tv is a crime
CU8000 and BU8000 almost the same? Just model year difference?
I would assume but they didn’t sell the BU8000 in the United States
Avoid BU8000 at all costs, was laggy & had tons of manufacturing defects, CU8000 should be much better
Is it ok to keep the film that came with the TV and it's covering the screen? Please someone answer me because I would like to keep it on the screen while I'm using it?
Why, it’s not like a cellphone
@@TechSteve
I know 😂 but we have a lot of flying bugs in my area, and they stain screens with their popo, and since the film is not affecting the quality of the picture 🤷
Keep it on if it works for you

I just bought cu7000 65 inch and I noticed right off the bat the sound is kinda low my tv before the cu7000 was 5 years old and at volume 20 is a lot louder then the cu7000 I have to turn up to 60 just hear it
They built them for soundbars
