Hi Phil. I don't know if you'll see this comment but I put a new ram into my laptop and its now not booting up. Fans start up and keyboard lights up but nothing appears on screen.
Hello, sorry for the late reply. If after installing new RAM you have no display, it’s usually due to improper installation, incompatible RAM, or BIOS/UEFI settings. The first thing I always recommend is to check with the laptop manufacturer that the RAM you installed in indeed compatible. The next thing to try would be to simply remove the new RAM and re-seat it, ensuring it is firmly in place and pressed all the way into the slot. Lastly, a BIOS update may resolve this issue, although you would have to uninstall the RAM first, perform the BIOS update, then re-install it after you have the latest firmware.
Though this is an old comment, it might still help others. I experienced the same issue with my FX516PM when I installed Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM. On booting, I got a black screen with the keyboard lights on and the battery light flashing white. Removing the incompatible RAM fixed it, so I’m back to using my Crucial 8GB stick until I find a compatible upgrade.
I just used your video to teach my 13 year old son how to properly install RAM into his new gaming PC he got for his birthday. We went from 8GB to 32GB and he couldn't be happier. Thank you for posting this video - my son just got this exact laptop so everything went really smoothly. I appreciate your post - thanks again!
Pardon my math, but if 8Gbs of the 16Gbs installed is soldered, then if I install a 32Gbs RAM card won't I be using 40Gbs RAM total? Sorry for the stupid question, but I see everybody talking as if it's 32Gbs total so I'm not sure how to take this info. xD
Hint on the screws… least on my tuf f15 the two sizes of screws had a different color threadlock… the slightly shorter ones used blue threadlock, and the long screws used a light gold/yellowish threadlock … really glad I caught your video because I didn’t notice at first when I was disassembling… thanks for saving me from longscrewing and possibly damaging the laptop😅
this helped SO MUCH. thank you! Noted for people who are questioning whether if the computer recognises the full 40gb of ram after installing the 32gb as in this tutorial. It does recognise all 40gb! Happy gaming :)
@@kricketto_ I bought the 8gig model with the intention of directly upgrading it to 16 on the first day. Then i found your video! And now I have 39 GB RAM instead of 8 you have my eternal gratitude and subscription! Thank you!
Good morning, greetings from Peru. I have the same model of laptop and my question was what actually happened if I put a 32 GB ram in the available slot, since the video does not show it in configurations that happen with the ram. I do not speak English and in some parts the subtitles do not appear. I half understood it. when placing a 32 gb and having 8 gb soldered to the board, that really adds up or it only recognizes the 32 gb or it only recognizes the 8 gb
@@antonyflores9067 hmm, I put 32gb in mine with no problems, it all works beautifully (did exactly like the video) the screw placement is important to remember.
Thank you for the great instruction. Mine is a 2022 Tuff Dash F15 - yet it had two removable RAM modules and fewer screws. It's remarkable how many model differences there are.
Manufacturers should really lower the amount of screws they use...and...the screws should stay in place instead of being lose-able. With my old Acer V3-772g I can remove the lid and the screws stay in the lid no matter what. With the new notebook: not so much.
