I'm not sure I've ever made it to the 30th video of any RUclips playthrough. Your ability to make a famously hard-to-digest story fun to follow is really impressive.

Nice to see you again, and a long episode at that.
Going to Searing falls requires you to exit at the south side of the previous map. Whenever you want to go to a new area, you have to be in the section of the map that leads to the area. Also, you can rest anywhere in Caed Nua, you dont have to actually go to the inn part every time.
Btw the burial place you were looking for is Cliaban Rilag, Edér said so in the episode before :)
Couple tips if you want to get stronger:
    - Dont forget you can enchant your weapons and armor. If you have a unique with a good effect you may want to stick with it and just enchant it to higher qualities as you level
    - Aloth as a wizard can learn and change his spells in the spellbook - right click on his book to edit what spells he has active. If you find any enemy spellbooks right click on them to see what spells they had. Aloth can copy those over into his own book for money. Sidenote - Remove icy grasp from his book, bc the AI keeps using it and that spell has a very short range, so he keeps getting far too close to enemies for his own good.
    - Honestly, just exploring every area is generally a good idea, get rid of the black fog in every area to just find stuff and defeat enemies.
    - You can re-visit some of the earlier areas where you missed quests, Gilded Vale I mentioned before that there are a ton you ran by.
    - Regarding your party comp, you can keep swapping a out and test what you like best. Some companions require more micro-management then others, Pallegina is a strong frontliner with decent damage and some healing and buffs to allies around her. Hiravias can heal and do AoE magic like Aloth or Durance.
    - Once you feel more comfortable with the magic and abilities, you can change the AI to not use abilities and just have basic attacks on aggressive. This means they will automatically attack enemies during fights, even if you forget giving them a command, but they wont waste spells, so you can use them in a smarter manner. It gives you more control over what to use and when.
PS - Unless you need to dodge some big area attack, or you need to move behind a doorway or other choke point, it is generally better to stand your ground rather than run around during fights. You keep moving your characters when they are attacking and it interrupts the attacks, like when you tried to tell Aloth to use Rolling flame, but then told him to move before he could use it so instead he used Blast after moving.

Ah THAT’S why Aloth keeps running way too close to enemies!! And honestly, after I finished this recording, I did think ‘I have a horrible feeling that I actually did know where Eder needed to go’ 😅. There’s so much to keep track of! I really did not notice that you can rest anywhere in Caed Nua, but it would seem wrong not to use my lovely inn 😂. Thank you so much for the tips. Gilded Vale next time I think 😄

The slaver was bringing back the drunkard. ;)
That was one of the harder fights. Watch out for your party members retreating from melee range as they invoke an attack of opportunity from the enemy (disengagement). They took a lot of unnecessary hits in that fight. It was a chaotic fight though, with not a lot of room to manoeuvre. Casting web was a sound move, but the spell is aimed at a spot on the ground and not a moving target. So you need to predict a bit where your target will be in the near future. Don't forget to level up your party. Their attack and defense will improve a bit, making things also a little bit easier. This is also a case study to disable Aloth's spell AI. He already cast many of his spells *before* the crypt fight (the AI activated them) in the easy ghul battles just outside, so you were spell starved when it mattered most. When you adjust his AI to only auto-ranged attack at least you get to pick the spells yourself for the hard fights. A few of his abilities though are available in every fight (the book slam and the bolts). No need to access the spell book for those.
Searing Falls has me confused as well. It should be approachable from the south of Woodend Plains, but it didn't seem to open up to you. Maybe it needs to be an exact spot where you need to travel, or you need a minimum level? I could've sworn...
It might be me, but is the game sound a tad too loud? It seems a bit louder then before at least, distorting a little bit. Not sure if others noticed it as well.
Keep it up! Appreciate you uploading a longer episode.👍
EDIT: When you're having trouble with more fights, you could try swapping out Durance for Pallegina. I do like what Durance has to offer to the party, but he is certainly not sturdy. With so many ranged people there's not a lot of bodies that can cover him, so he falls very easily and an unconscious Durance can't heal. ;) As a paladin Pallegina is a defensive fighter, with limited spells (also healing). She can function decently as second tank, besides or just behind Eder. Give her heavy armor and either your biggest two handed weapon or a defensive one handed weapon (hatchets give extra deflection) combined with a good shield. The smith in Gilded Vale sells a unique paladin shield. In that situation your party does need the expertise of another mechanic. :)

Oh no, could I have saved someone? Now I feel bad… 😅. I think I will try disabling Aloth’s spell AI. In a way, I think it’s making it a little harder for me to keep track of which spells are available and where Aloth is going to be moving. Might experiment with switching Pallegina in too, at least for difficult battles, as you said. I also don’t feel like I’m using Durance’s healing abilities anywhere near as efficiently as I could be!
I definitely have issues with small spaces. Possibly should have predicted that with so many ranged characters 😅.
Thank you, as always, for the help :)

@@HaylienGaming I'm not sure if you could've saved someone from knockout. At the moment your party is a bit lacking in spongy bodies to block/soak, besides Eder and the deer. :) In the past you also had the wolf from the other companion. Fortunately your party is fine in most battles, but when you keep playing with this setup you need to keep the baddies away from your ranged characters which might pose some difficulty (but not insurmountably so) in close quarter fights or in surprise battles. In a way it asks from you an even more tactical aware playstyle, including good use of disabling spells. Sometimes it's better to make the casting choices yourself and just let your party members auto-attack as the AI isn't always clever with its casts. ;)
Playing with Pallegina instead of Durance is a little bit easier as she can protect herself better and is a good blocker. And to be fair you have already have quite a compliment of spellcasters (Aloth, GM, Kana semi-spellcaster) in the party, which is very micro intensive. You're giving up powerful healing and protection (Durance) for weaker/fewer spells of mostly the same kind (Pallegina), but I guess the loss felt really depends on how rigorously you use Durance's spells. Pallegina does have access to several useful passive paladin aura's, like one that continually slowly heals the party. As for the druid you just met: he's also sturdier than Durance and has a repertoire of useful general purpose spells including healing, summoning, damage and protection. He can also shape change, attacking with natural weapons, but again micro intensive as a fulltime spellcaster. Also a good choice when you like your party to cover a lot of options, as long as you keep an eye on him when the fighting starts.
Durance is an interesting character in a divisive way, however Pallegina (minor spoiler ahead)........... will return in Pillars 2.
Whomever you pick in your party, what's good to know is companions on the sideline won't gain experience besides the few quests you assign to them. The longer they stay benched, the further they fall behind experience wise.
