magnificent idea to orchestrate Beethoven's quartets. Leonard Bernstein set quartets 14 and 16 to music with the Vienna Philharmonic and it was spectacular.

Such greatness, commitment, imagination, energy and fearlessness (not to mention technical mastery).

So grateful the NCO is programming late Beethoven and sharing with the world. This performance is singular.

Why these cuts in the fugue? Otherwise: Just phenomenal, both the arrangement and the execution! Superb tempi! Genial idea to interprete the Cavatina as a violin concerto/opera aria!

An almost weird experience when you are used to the String Quartet. But I have to say that NCO succeeds in enhancing the feelings almost as much as from 4 to 20 is. Thank you for always challenge the limits...

What a joy to listen to this masterwork in your wonderful string orchestra performance!! I love this work so much that I even tried to go a step further and write with greatest pleasure a version with added colourful woodwinds, horns, ... - for full symphony orchestra: ruclips.net/video/eZy0gMHtLDk/видео.html :-)

Everything's great, except I don't understand why, in the last 20 years or so, there has to be somebody's "visual conception" involved in a great work of musical art. It's like putting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. Here I refer to the lighting. Beethoven doesn't need any help with his art. 200 years later and the audience hasn't changed - donkeys, cows, pigs and sheep.

Orchestra doesn't really go well with große fugue.

???????? What makes you think so?????? This performance proves rather the opposite!
