  • The Magic Ring is used when working a round. One of two ways to work a round actually. The other way is the Chain 2 Method.
    You will see the magic ring used when making projects such as a beanie, a ball, a stuffed animal or anything round or circular.
    The Magic Ring gets it's name because you are able to make as many stitches as you need in the first round and then by pulling the tail you close the ring tightly so that there is little to no opening. It looks impossibly done afterwards, like magic.

    Thank you Tiffany!! I’ve tried making the Magic Ring in the past, but some of the others never explained it like you just did! I will be trying that out tomorrow. We have a Wedding to go to and we’ll be driving to east Texas (which will be about 8 hours from where we live)!! It’s easier for me to crochet smaller projects while riding in a vehicle than trying to crochet a larger project!!
    Thank you again, you’re a wonderful teacher & friend!

      Oh you are so welcome Norma! Glad my tutorial could be helpful! Have fun at the Wedding! And crocheting the 8 hours to get there. I agree with you. Crocheting in the car it's nice to accomplish quick little projects and give you that feeling of accomplishing something. 😊🧶🧡

    I love the magic ring. Don't like the chain 4 style now.

  • @VernaBradshaw
    @VernaBradshaw 2 года назад +2

    I only use the magic ring. Doing the number of chains and going back into the first chain never works for me as I can’t seem to ever get it tightened.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +1

      Totally get it. Glad you found a way that works best for you! I think that's the hardest part, playing around with different techniques to see what feels the best for you. 😊🧶🧡

    I used the magic ring on a 6ft. Wide double strand sc rug. 1st time I washed the rug the ring came open and I had to repair the rug. Never again.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +1

      Oh No! That's so sad. Totally understand why you would be turned off from the Magic Ring. I often favor the Chain 2 method myself or in the case of the rug maybe the chain 4 slip stitch circle because you are adding so many stitching inside the ring with bulky yarn. But yaaaaa, that's an unfortunate experience for sure.
