I love how simple Sams videos are. Literally just him and his camera. Going through his workout and him talking about different tips and why he does what he does. I feel like so many creators in the fitness community rely too heavily on their brand and doing as many collabs as possible. Don't get me wrong, I like a few of the other guys too, but Sam just has a more old school feel to his videos and I really appreciate the change of pace.

About the chocolate milk. This is one of the problems with being on steroids. You don’t feel the negative effects of those processed junk foods as much as a natural person. On steroids you’re always gonna feel great. The effects of table sugar on the human body are well documented and they aren’t pretty. They are empty calories, aka calories without nutrients.Even worse, it could be high fructose corn syrup. Not to mention the carrageenan and/or artificial sweeteners that might be in there. I like your videos Sam and I hope you take your health seriously

About the food thing i agree that calories are calories, but in regards to building muscle you should have in mind that different protein sources higher or lower biological value, meaning that proteins do not equal proteins. Also, eating primarily processed foods will mess up your gut health, which can lead food not being digested as well, causing you to absorb less of the macronutrients and micronutrients. This applies more to naturals though, because gear can compensate for unhealthy nutrition. As long as you’re hitting your protein and are in a calorie surplus you should still build muscle though, even with shit nutrition, but just not as efficiently. Love the videos though, keep em coming :)
Studies have shown that protein type has a very tiny, if not totally negligible difference in amount of muscle gained. Within a couple of percentage points, as long as you’re getting the right amount of protein, source/type really doesn’t matter.
As strongly as you feel about a calorie being a calorie Sam. The truth is, getting “healthier” choice provide better results in terms of stomach tolerance and fibre. Your GI health is something you will appreciate in 10 or 20yrs time. I also reckon if rice and potatoes with chicken beef vs protein bars and skittles was a thing.. wouldn’t Coleman or cutler have done the same? It’s not rocket science. Keep an eye on your organ function and cholesterol man, we don’t want to see you go too early. 26:49 exactly when you train hard and put out a lot of energy on your training you need to eat foods with fats and sugar otherwise your energy levels are gonna suck. Just look at the swimmers they burn so many calories with their training they are forced to eat a shit ton of "bad foods" otherwise they would have no energy. As long as you don't eat too much fat and not too many calories I think sugar / carbs are great tools to make sure you can have energy in the gym and train as hard as possible. Otherwise you could never feel good in the gym and you would be tired 24/7 (that was me before when I used to eat only clean foods I would get tired all the time yawning and feeling sleepy) now I don't feel like that anymore thanks to some modifications on my diet

milk protein is one of the highest quality proteins in existence. anything from animal products is pretty high quality
