- Born March 25th, 1947, Reginald Kenneth Dwight was a child prodigy at the piano. He eventually joined the band Bluesology, but he wanted more. He auditioned for other bands, and this was how he met lyricist Bernie Taupin. Soon, under the name Elton John, this artist shot to the top of the charts with successful singles like "Your Song," and even made his mark in America. But Elton John was naturally shy, and so to deal with his hectic schedule and flamboyant public persona, he turned to drugs and alcohol as solace. But he overcame his demons and today is considered one of the most successful recording artists in history. In this video, www.WatchMojo.com takes a look at the life and career of Elton John.

I'm not Elton John's biggest fan, but this man deserves respect. I happened to get invited to one of the concerts he did with Billy Joel. Billy couldn't make it, but Elton gave a 4h non-stop performance on his own anyway.

I grew up listening to my mother's collection of Elton John records (which she still has as well). Was never a huge fan of him, but I have the utmost respect for his work and his songs really bring me back to my childhood... like Genesis.
I've always been amazed at the extraordinary talent of Bernie Taupin as a lyricist.
His song's are timeless.
What a remarkable collaboration he's enjoyed having met up with Elton John back in 1967.
As for Bernie and his extraordinary song writing talent, the Bloke can't sing his way out of a wet paper bag.
I think Elton says he couldn't write lyrics so he and Bernie were a good fit. Each took care of their part to make a great song.

Sir Elton John is that type of artist I listen to where literally any song he performs easily gets stuck in my head, and I don’t say that for a lot of artists.
His music is phenomenal, his voice aged gracefully, his piano-playing is insane, and he is a kind gentleman with so much care for the world and for this generation of growing artist and musicians.
How wonderful life is while he’s in the world.

Elton was striper at the Brooklyn for ten fucking years then he moved to Boston where he knew a man that changed his life forevah, the man was called Jashm Bibah, a rich man and producer of the neoclassical radio near the grocery shop, the opportunity was given and he enjoyed, and now hes a famous singer.
