Lennon exclaimed that Julian was a product of whiskey, and Sean was a product of love. What a horrendous thing to say of your son. Although his life's works were brilliant, I am appalled at that statement. John sang about
Peace and love. Guess it didn't apply to his personal views on life.
John, like everyone, was not perfect. Seek the Lord!
He eventually by the time Julian was 11 started to make amends, despite what some people try to say about John. So there was about a 4 year period where John wasn't around alot, which is awful to do, but it's not something so bad we can't forgive under the right conditions. Also he didn't leave Julian out of his will, he set up a trust fund for both his sons to split but died before he could put alot of funds in it.
That's correct. The trust fund was 50/50.

@@ClepsidraSideral Lennon was no saint, as most musicians aren't. Most have more problems than normal and John didn't know the Lord, as most musicians don't. They are ruled by their passion which is a recipe for having a lot of problems.
Lennon lived a very pained life and had to be hostile to survive and thrive--fortunately, he gave to the world what he could not obtain for himself LASTING love peace and emotional security
I remember watching a RUclips of John and Yoko on the Mike Douglas show. Yiko asked if they could each look in the phone book and tell people they love them. They all did it and all I could think of was Julian and how they could call complete strangers but not Julian. Julian buy Johns stuff from auctions. Yoko was a selfish woman
You're so right. She was the stepmom from hell. Selfish and such a phony poser, as if she was so filled with love she just had to tell the world. She was nothing but a cheap stunt artist, anything to get attention. No real feelings whatsoever. She was always posing, her only two concerns 1) being perceived as Lennon's only love as she hung off his coattails for fame, and 2) getting all his money. The minute John was killed, she got all his money. And she's been hanging off his coattails for fame as "his widow" ever since. (Like Courtney Love.) Even though that very same week she moved her boyfriend Sam Havadtoy in, reportedly married him in Hungary, and was with him for 20 years -- way longer than she was with John Lennon. She couldn't burn John Lennon's body to ashes fast enough.

The Beatles helped this lonely confused teenager through the worst time of his life, God bless all of them. I'm 70 now so I guess it worked.

The Beatles are truly timeless and iconic! My parents (Baby Boomers) were HUGE fans. They were also true hippies and had me at a young age. I'm Generation X and was brought up with the Beatles constantly being played. Thus, I became a huge Beatles freak. I also raised my children with the Beatles music and now my daughter is raising my 6 year old granddaughter with the Beatles music. (Currently her favorite song is Blackbird.🥰 I used to play it on guitar and sing it to her all the time.)
That's FOUR generations of hard-core Beatles fans. Not many other artists or groups can claim that. 😊
Blackbird is my favourite too... Revolver and White Album were their best albums...

Abandonment in the first 7 years of life, not just the first 18 months.
I was working in a petrol station at the time of Lennon's death and of course, his music was being played on the radio. On the day, Lennon was murdered there was not one person who came into the shop who did not comment on the murder. Grown men were choked up, sad and angry. I loved the Beatles since I was a young girl, I am 66 now and a week does not go by without me listening to something from the Beatles. John Lennon definitely had issues, probably due to his childhood, and it took Yoko Ono to help iron those anger issues out. Most Beatle fans despised her, but I reckon she probably saved him. Every year that killer is up for parole, Yoko Ono who is in her late eighties still fights to keep him in prison, where he should always remain. My opinion is that Lennon managed to sort himself out and then he was shot dead, and that is tragic! Lennon: a genius? Yes, I would say so. Thanks for uploading, much appreciated.

He was both. It’s complicated when one is abandoned by both parents; which I can’t imagine. He couldn’t apply “All You Need Is Love” to certain people like Pete Best or his dad. But that longing for peace of mind allowed his genius to create something like “Strawberry Fields Forever” or “Dear Prudence.” BTW: It was “A Spaniard In the Works” not “A Spanish on the Works.”

I think John was good at honestly articulating his inner state. If we look at songs like Julia, Girl, Help, Norwegian Wood, In My Life and even his nonsensical compositions like I Am The Walrus and Hey Bulldog we see his subconscious seeping out. Personal faults aside he was an artist.

My favorite Beatles song is "I Wanna Hold Your Hand", because it was the first one I ever heard. I was hooked from that very moment. I love them so very much. What a wonderful part of my young life they were. I miss those days so terribly!!!!

John & Paul loved each other, they fell out over management issues but still loved each other & were scheduled to record together in London but John died!! How can you leave this out & call yourself a biographer?
I adored the Beatles since their first album. When they went their own ways, I especially followed George and John. To me, they were the most unique individuals. I had all of their music. When I went back to school in 1979, I played their music to study. I fell asleep in 1980, and awakened to the announcement of John Lennon being shot and killed. I was in shock!
Paul would've been great and intriguing too if he had only been allowed to keep on going. After September 12th 1966 it wasn't him anymore.
It gutted me, John's murder.

No 2 people can play an instrument the same way. I found that theory interesting at first but ultimately it's these points that make it impossible. The chances of a look alike is already insane but noone would be able to match in all those other ways either. Even John lennon said it's all ridiculous. And he said that at a time when him and Paul disliked eachother so I dont buy that theory.
One thing about John was he was honest! Most people aren't that honest and won't let you see their dark side.

McCartney was a company yes man and a brown noser and basically liked the money. His songs were all fluff while John poured out his agony in his songs and was looking for a savior. I understand how John could think at the time that they, The Beatles, were "more popular than Jesus."... being honest, but, he might have been wrong. If we were to really head count Beatle fans and Jesus fans (Christians) at that time, John would probably lose.

So you spend a great deal of time on John's friendship with Stuart and what a great influence he was on John, very briefly mention John and Paul's success as writers and then basically never mention anything about John and Paul's deep friendship and how they influenced each other, but skip to the Beatles breakup and John being annoyed with Paul. One of the great bromances of the twentieth century! What kind of biography would basically ignore one of John's most significant relationships?
It definitely isn’t a great biography…he can’t even give his book “A Spaniard In The Works” it’s proper title, calling it a Spanish In The Works! It’s just a shame that disliking makes no difference!

You are so right! I hate when people completely gloss over John and Paul's relationship as if it hadn't been incredibly intense and a huge influence on both of them. That so that to this day, there's a lot of speculation regarding the nature of said relationship, whether it was platonic or romantic.
This was an excellent biography, with so many new details about John Lennon that we didn't know before. I only disagree with the statement that he died too young to do and say much. Where does a statement like that come from? Lennon did more and said more in his short life than just about anyone. The tragedy is he had so much more to say and do.

Geniuses often are very difficult people. It is often the case that great art comes from great pain, and John's life had much strife. Pablo Picasso was a genius, but a very difficult and brutal man. Which is why he was married and divorced many times.

Um, forming a band doesn't require genius, and in the beginning they had no idea how much they would achieve, and neither did anyone else. John, Paul, & George were very talented song writers and creators of new paths in popular song, but I agree with Pauline that genius is an overused term for any sort of talent.
I'm tired of the Lennon bashing. These days, hating on someone is really popular (famous people or not) because it's a group thing, a bully thing, a crowd thing. It's also low hanging fruit because it's easy to find fault with anyone. What is special is finding the good in people and affirming that - and John Lennon was plenty good too, as anyone who knew and loved him has attested. So to those folks who are self-righteously hating on him, I suggest you look very carefully at yourselves and your families and see how you are not perfect. Let the man rest in peace. His sons have moved on. Let go of the incessant negativity.

A LOT of people are abandoned in a variety of ways, including wars,who do well in their life and dont blame others for their personal issues. John had a home and family. Charlie Chaplin grew up on the streets...literally. HIS son says John was a lousy father and a person he knew but did not admire, as well a man who abused HIS wife and son.
John Lennon was a great singer/ songwriter, and I especially enjoyed his music. The Beatles were the best band ever, in my opinion. That said, Lennon was not a particularly nice person, and he himself abandoned his first wife, and child. He was selfish, like his second wife, Yoko Ono, but he was a far more talented artist than she. I appreciate Lennon for his art/music, not his personality.

I don't think he was unloved. His aunt played an important role in his childhood, and as far as I know they were very fond of each other. I think he was probably shown as much love as any of the rest of us.

Strong egos always clash. Talents stir up passions. Frenemies. Bromances. Whatever. Even siblings rival. Complex characters. Who cares? What's the contest? They made amazing music. They shared a legacy. Then they moved on down the long and winding road. They parted ways. They became their own men. So what. They continued to create. Each special one of them. Hey. Let it be.
I tend to very much agree. Over years you tire of hearing the same stories and everyone's different takes. If any part of the history that should never be underestimated is his pairing with Paul McCartney. Like other famous pairing in musical history such as George and Ira Gershwin they created the best music of a generation and beyond. If you love great art and music than that is the story that matters most. It wasn't covered hardly at all in this documentary. Think about it - the most important partnership in music and it barely gets talked about.

As a side issue, I wanted to comment that the photo supposedly showing John and Cynthia on their wedding day (14:20) is fake. Cynthia has previously described what she wore for the Registry office that day: a purple and black dog-tooth suit, with her long blonde hair in a French pleat. Someone has clearly photoshopped John's head onto a random wedding photo.
Cynthia was an artist too, and she drew a picture of her wedding scene……
She also had a sense of humor, she put a funny caption on it….

that was a common characteristic of “great” men in the last century. Not only was Lennon a jerk in private, his commitment to high ideals only lasted a couple of years before he resumed his rich selfish rock star lifestyle.

My thoughts exactly. When other famous people have engaged in similar behaviours the media and the public would put the boot in but because of tragedy (and of course his murder was just that a horrible tragedy) John became a martyred figure. And if Paul is correct John never would have wanted that. If that is the case then that is something I do admire about John. Whilst he could be very selfish he didn't want to be perceived as a saint and I acknowledge that as a stance that made him in my mind a much better person.

he ran out of time to see him and had problems getting back to the uk after living in new york ,he talked about this on the dick cavett show. And julian was not alone,he had cynthia and paul also took care of him for a few years.

Not to mention the two masterpieces he put out after the Beatles, as well as 2 really great albums after those. SO yeah he was a genius both in songwriting but also how he carried himself and how he shaped culture, he was a pioneer of the conscious pop star.

This is a great video! I don’t like when people hate on John. He did some bad shit and I feel for Julian and Cynthia tremendously but he himself has a pretty tragic story and obviously had trauma that influenced his bad actions. I truly think in his later years he was trying to heal all that and make up for it. Not like I know the real man behind the camera but just my opinion. The fact he was straight up murdered is so sad. Definitely did not deserve to be taken out like that.
The term "murdered" does not apply. An assassination is a murder committed for political purposes. That term would be more accurate.

@@paulinehannon4514 I think that is a very fair point. John and Yoko shared immense amounts of information about their personal lives. Even with the music videos it was always about them. Whether John was a bastard or genius is perhaps not the most prevalent question as wee know if he could be both. The question is though, 'Was he a narcissist, He did seem to be focusing on his own problems all the time and whilst those difficulties were real and challenging for him, others too have had just as bad if not worst happen to them but they moved on without becoming self-pitying or preachy.
The other Beatles had terrible times growing up but they didn't harp on about it endlessly. So I don't think he was innately a bad person, and his musical genius often shone through but he definitely could be very selfish is some regard in always presenting himself as a victim.

John Lennon was certainly a human being who suffered things in life, and like so many, inflicted that suffering onto others. Yet he was a musical genius, as well as working on himself, and influencing the world toward peace and love.
Give the man his due credit, while acknowledging his faults.

He was always on tour during the time of Julian’s birth and I’m pretty sure John cared for his son and was trying to make it right by his 40s don’t judge someone who had a contract with labels that he had to fulfill I blame labels not John
Nobody realizes the pressure and the time that was consumed by being a Beatle. John and Julian's relationship was strained but only 4 people went through what the Beatles had to go through. Of course the press was always making things up and people just believed it. Watch the doc on prime and you'll see when paul was quoting articles from a newspaper and they all were breaking up at the lies.

Yes I agree 💯 love the Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney are awesome and George Harrison and Ringo Starr 😁
John Lennon, abandoned by both his father and mother, abandoned his first son. He was an intelligent, sensitive, brilliant musician, but he did not possess sufficient character to break the chain of abuse and to love his son as he should have.
He also emotionally abused his first wife, Cynthia, who I have never heard ever did anything to deserve it. He brazenly betrayed and cheated on her in her face and left her in an unnecessarily brutal manner.
He could be nasty (parodied as "Ron McNasty" of the Rutles) and cuttingly cruel in one moment and generous and kind in the next. He was a witty, razor sharp, volatile and unpredictable stick of dynamite. He also created some of the greatest music of all time.
We have seen many such incandescent geniuses who are not such good people at heart. Of course, It doesn't have to be that way, some of them are and have been very good people, indeed. I suppose that one thing has nothing to do with the other. We are complex beings for sure.
Thank you for stating facts. That is what we all should do. Tell the truth. Whether John's worshippers want to accept it or not, he committed horrid acts on others. Fortunately he seemed to try and make amends later on and that is good. There is the truth.

I know, in these days where almost 40% of Americans believe the most bare-faced lies, completely unsupported by any credible evidence about Trump and his cohorts, the truth seems to be a rare commodity. But it is still the coin of the realm. Most Americans are onto that nonsense as the last midterm elections proved.
Anyway, yes, it seems that John reached some rapprochement with Julian, despite Yoko Ono's attempts to block it as well as John's fatherly desire to bestow upon Julian some of the family's assets to which he was properly heir. Why Ono would do this, is beyond me. There was surely more than enough to go around and then some. John never reconciled with Cynthia, also largely because of Ono's influence. This indicates just who and what Ono really is.

Last night I watched a stream where an author of a book on Yoko was being discussed. You could tell the host was being so careful to not disparage Yoko in anyway. Ms. Madeline Bocaro, author of the book "In Your Mind: The Infinite Universe of Yoko Ono" was talking. It was extremely complimentary and none of those 'delicate' topics were even raised. A puff piece really.
I appreciate your awareness and intelligence and that you value truth even when unpalatable. I think a person can be both truthful and respectful at the same time. You showed this in your considered words. Thank you again.
@@triplejazzmusicisall1883 You are welcome and I thank you for your kind remarks. Books like the one you mentioned are usually "puff pieces" and often not worth our time if accurate and insightful information is sought.
I recently read an excellent biography of Judy Garland which had all the known and knowable facts and timeline correct. It didn't pull any punches. It was not an angry book, nor did it overly criticize my favourite singer. However, it painted a very sad and gloomy picture of Ms. Garland's life, which I fear may, in fact, be quite true.
I mention this book as a good example of how a biography can tell the truth and be sympathetic while not sugar-coating things to the point of absurdity.
Regarding the Ono book, there is always an innate problem with writing books about people who are still living. Often, if the author wants the subject to cooperate and disclose a few "secrets", he or she has to give the subject person a good deal of editorial power. Once that happens, objective truth and accuracy are usually in grave jeopardy.
If such power is withheld from the subject and he or she is not pleased with the resulting publication, there is always a chance that lawsuits for slander might be brought. The distinct possibility of this might cause an author to be overly cautious and leave out much that ought to be written.

I have recently discovered a lovely young lady on RUclips who is a massive Judy Garland fan and has a voice very reminiscent of the legend herself. It is not a pastiche either but her real voice. Among many mistakes, the narrator states Brian Epstein became their manager after the release of 'Please please me' album, which is mentioned far too early, then pops up again later. He also states John & Paul didn't write the song 'Please Please Me.' Ridiculous.

Loved this video, I graduated high school in 1969, I grew up when the Beatles appeared. I remember everyone waiting for a new album to come out, the next day we all talked about the music. They were one of the few groups where I loved every song. I don’t think there will ever be another group or solo artist as popular as they were. When John was killed every tv channel was about him. He was on every magazine cover. The world was overcome with grief. When he made the comment the Beatles were more popular than Jesus he didn’t mean it like people took it, he was kinda right. The only person who had such popularity and had major coverage when she died was Princess Diana. I remember very clearly when the Beatles came out and how great they were, I’m so greatful to have been there when it happened. Thank you for this video.

i was 6 or 7, already exposed to Leadbelly and old swamp blues - long story... my next door neighbor young teen girls saw the beatles live in chicago - i was never so jealous. they had an extra ticket and no way was i gonna be invited...i called their younger brother Moony.. Big Blond Haired Headed Kid my age. everybody called him that and i also broke their window throwing a stick for their dog though i walked up to the broken door window to cop to it like they didn't already know...

Great Songwriter, Great Rock Tenor Voice, Great Rhythm guitarist. That's all i care about. Everyone has a bad side to them, including jealous writers & talentless critics who never made it.
Looking and watching John’s biography, Julian looks like his fathers twin brother, so much look a like. Both very talented musicians, song writers and photographer .
The Beatles songs that influenced me musically are Paperback Writer, Back in the USSR, and Revolution I. Lennon was not perfect, but I don't think we should expect rock bands to be perfect. He certainly could have treated his first wife Cynthia and family better. He did not deserve his tragic ending. I think it best to take him for who he was faults and all. Drugs changed the music, maybe not for the better. The Beatles were at their best when they did straight up rock songs without the added orchestration.
Thank you, It was nice to look back. I am 58 and my mom was pregnant with me when she saw the Beatles in Chicago. I grew up listening to The Beatles and had many books about them.

That night I loved George the best because I felt sorry for him because he had a sore throat! Afterwards,I Loved John the best! I was hoping to hear how often he saw Julian as a kid, like twice a year or what. Love John and his music but thought it was sad he didn't spend more time with Julian. Since Alfred tried to get John to live with him, it shows he cared and maybe he didn't realize visitation was a thing.
Its no wonder Lennon turned out the way he did. He was so envious of his friends and colleagues. But he did alright under the circumstances.
Until he was shot and killed. A terrible ending for anyone.

John's art wasn't *included* in the "school newspaper," The Daily Howl - The Daily Howl was in fact ALL John's personal creation - his creative outlet and comic "contribution" to his schoolmates.

Julian was loved by his Mom, Cynthia. She was always there. John Lennon loved his son. He being part of the Beatles, was I’m sure overwhelmed. Nobody dy could have foreseen that what happened when they became popular I feel sad for both all three of them!
John had anger issues, and he was not a good husband or father to Julian and Cynthia. But, he never hid from that and was very open about it. And he made sure he didn't make the same mistake with Sean.
Don't think that can excuse his behaviour...

Excellent biography on John, his life, his influences, and ultimately his music. As far as how LSD effected John's music and how he thought about that influence, only John can truly refeclt what contribution it had on his music and life. Every trip is different just and there were so many kinds that affected each person differently. I believe that it was part of the big picture, along with meditation, his romance with Yoko, his angered of his life without his parents, the death of people close to him, hid art with words and drawing. People are not one thing that defines who they are and what their life is. That would be boring, and John was not boring, he was creative and took pieces of his life and put them into his art and music. I was 10 when the Beatles were big in the US. I love all there music. The songs with not much lyrics but great music and great voices, to the more complex songs in there later albums. I am a fan of there work as a group and solo artist. It is sad that John could not be around for his children, he dud leave a legacy of his life to them in all the ways he wanted to express, his family, his work, and his creativeaty.

@@helenamaria710 I agree to a certain extent but Paul has talked about this and at the time, pre Beatlemania John’s girlfriend Cynthia became pregnant, John did the ‘right thing’ and married her and when Beatles became famous bought beautiful house in Surrey where Cynthia and Julian lived. However, Cynthia was very much a pipe and slippers lady and they were slipping apart as John was such a complex man, wanting something different therefore, when Yoko was introduced to her he became infatuated with her (incidentally she first targeted Paul) His treatment of then wife and son was appalling & Julian said Paul was more of a father to him. I remember Paul was driving to see Cynthia and Julian when Hey Jude came to him - it was originally Hey Jules, for Julian. Whatever, Paul has retained a friendship with Yoko, as he has with George’s widow Olivia and they can often be seen front row when he is performing. I think of all Beatles Paul had a very happy marriage, became a vegetarian and his children have had careers in their own right, most successful of these being Stella. I think he was badly affected by Linda’s death, hence his unfortunate marriage to Heather Mills, who hurt him on every level. However he adores his daughter from that marriage & has often been seen with her in the town of Rye, near to his house in Peasmarsh, which is really his main home and where he spent Covid lockdown. He has been happily married to Nancy for a number of years, her background as an heiress from a Jewish New York family is eerily similar to that of Linda.
John was my favourite Beatle precisely because he was so human and complicated (and talented). I would not presume to judge him - we all make mistakes.

I love the song Imagine composed by John Lennon, and Let it be. Many Beatles songs are all hits because of its meaningful lyrics and amazing background and awesome melody.
I saw The Beatles at NY Mets Shea Stadium on August 15, 1965. How it happened, my 16-year-old sister was given the task to purchase five tickets in advance for herself and four girlfriends. At the last minute, one of the girls couldn't go. My father was just about to drive them to the LIRR, He told my sister, "Take Kevin" I remember the train ride as all girls, many of which were singing Beatles songs, at the stadium our seats were just behind the 3rd base dugout about 6 or 7 rows back. I remember girls screaming, giant bed sheets painted with different "I love You" Flash camera's going off all over the stadium, and girls fainting. I could hardly hear over the screaming, I was only 13 years old. Lucky me I was there! I saw Paul's "new world tour" in 1993, again at NY Citifield's "Return to Shea" in 2009

I remember John talking about his sons in a TV interview. He said his first son was born from the bottom of a whiskey bottle and his second was born from love. I decided then and there he was a B.... to say that on TV about your son bottom of the barrel in my books.

Please, the title of this doc says it all. This man gave the world art and has probably saved someone’s life in turn. Music is a direct connection to the heart and soul. How many of you have contributed to humanity in this way. We as humans are all damaged. John didn’t do anything to anyone. He might of said some smart ass comments , so what. Freedom of speech! Julia Baird, Lennon's half sister, paints a completely different story of his childhood. In her account, Lennon was part of a close EXTENDED family. And it is probably unfair to Mimi to say that John was deprived of love. The story you don't hear is how Lennon was on the phone every week when he was living in New York.

John wasn’t abandoned. His mum was ‘different, sure a nice, fun person but not responsible enough to be a mother, so his aunt took care of him, raising him as her own. John still regularly visited his mum and her new family (see John’s sister’s book). Both parents wanted him (as stated here). My husband was in a similar situation when his mum/dad divorced. Upsetting but hey, you grow up. I have an acquaintance who attended school with John, albeit younger. He remembers being bulled by John and having snow and snowballs thrust down his shirt by him. The guitars story is also embellished as he played guitar at Mimi’s. Not my favourite Beatle, that was George. Odd that the ‘genius’ John had hardly any career after the Beatles, despite many efforts. His Double Fantasy sadly only became a hit due to John’s tragic murder. I bought it and absolutely hated it (eek and yikes Yoko is screeching on it).

How ironic that John Lennon, the bad-ass of the group, was "never a street kid or a tough guy", a "suburban kid, imitating the rockers", while sweet, gentle, good-natured, happy-go-lucky Ringo was the real deal, he was a Teddy Boy and was in a gang, and being a little bloke growing up in a rough area I daresay he learned how to fight at an early age.
Ringo's upbringing was without a doubt the worst of all of them. Yet he's become a much admired individual.
He was my favorite among the members of Beatles. Lost admiration when he became involved with Yoko Ono.

The Beatles broke up when they were all about thirty, so any bad boy behavior would be things they did in their teens or twenties. Would you like to be known forever for things you did in the teens and twenties? He found somebody he loved, they had a child. He was then a devoted dad and husband, all post Beatles. He tracked his friends' birthdays and sent them personal collages he had made just for them, sometimes including cassettes of funny voices and little songs. He was funny, he was artistic, he could be a caring friend beyond any I've ever had. Once he and McCartney post Beatles spend the evening with David Bowie who played his new album (bowie's new album) for them over and over. finally, mcCartney asked if he could play something else. Bowie was hurt Lennon could see, so he called him the next day and said, oh, hey, don't take him personally. I was married to him for years." Lennon told an employee this story and the man said, "But McCartney hurt his feelings, shouldn't he apologize not you." Lennon said, "He wouldn't even know what you're talking about." another time during his "lost weekend" with may pang he and pang went out with mick jagger and david bowie. when they got back home and were alone Lennon said to Pang, "Gee, when I said such and which to them do you think they took that too much to heart?" Pang said, "Everything you say to them is important to them because of who you are." Lennon said, "It's so hard being me!" Listen, damnit, this was a nice person, a good person. He got kicked around in childhood and that made him moody because his mind was replaying the bad stuff but he was clearly a songwriting genius and a caring soul. try to remember that. he was just a guy, a talented artistic guy but just a guy and subject to error. give him a break. once he sent somebody to a beatle covention to buy him some memorabalia and they guy asked lennon if he had any message for his fans. he said, "remind them the MUSIC is the important thing." he'd tell us the same thing. not the random stories about his voyage through life on earth.

Lennon with McCartney was a music genius.
We performed "In his own write" in the foyer, at the Everyman theatre Liverpool. In 1978. Victor Spinnetti was there, from the Beatle films. Lennon, the new play, was on at the Everyman. The very first production. Used to see, Pauls Brother, having at drink at the bar, Mike. Nice man. Great times.

Its a common misconception that his mum bought him his first guitar, it was actually mi mi who bought it for him.
John brilliant on one side and like the moon a dark side. Spoke and sang about being deprived of love and abandoned yet he did the same to Cynthia and Julian. Cynthia loved John to her last day and caused Julian a deep wound that never ceased to bleed. John constantly said how much he loved Sean and even wrote a song about him compounding the hurt and sadness Julian felt. My dad abandoned me when I was young and never turned back. Later I found out he started another family and had another son who I heard he loved very much and made me cry so profoundly. Later I learned to process this and accept it in order to go on with my life, but I carried a heavy cross. John sang INSTANT KARMA IS GONNA GET YOU KNOCK YOU OFF YOUR FEET and sadly it did.
Why did he treat JULIAN his son the way he did as if he did not exist and when he died yoko wasn't much better and he had to accept what yoko gave him he had to sell thing's that were his fathers but is trying to buy them back.
He didn't want Julian or to marry Cynthia. He was just making it as a big star, and a wife and kid were not what he needed, he just got lumbered with them. Brian told him to keep Cynthia under wraps and not let folks know he was married, cos this wasn't good for the image of a 'pop star', who depended on teenage girls to buy his records. He tried to hide Cynthia from the public, but it did get out there was a wife and kid on the scene.
He supported him, plenty. Not bad for an anchor baby

Yoko got all of Johns things. There were some of those things we’re supposed to go to Julian, Yoko knew that so she sold them at an auction?! So Julian had to go all over the country and pay twice as much as they bought them for! He spent a Fortune ! But he got His dads John Lennon s things that had sentimental reasons. Yoko only wanted power and $$$!
Sean should help him buy this stuff back.
John could have given Julian more when he was alive, or put those things in his will to ensure Julian got them. I don't suppose he cared about Julian, cos he said he never wanted to marry Cynthia in the first place.

A similar thing happened to me when 5 my mother left my dad then then came back with my baby brother in to he middle of the night then my father called me out of bed and sat me on the soffer then I had to choose who to go with, even though I loved my father,I chose my mother, leaving my other brother and sister behind we had to walk a few miles in the middle of the night to my grandma's house, then we was were homeless for a few years till the authorities got us a house by that time I was 11 years old my other brother and sister that got left behind, where fostered out but when we got the house, we where all reunited again I never saw my father from the age of 5 until I was 15 it years old but my other siblings never saw him at all, when I found my father,I spent more time with him up until he passed away I've never let it scar the rest of my life cos life hear to be lived no matter what I always think there is someone out there worse off than yourself.
