Three nuns were once flashed by a man. One had a heart attack, one fainted. The other had a stroke.
I was thinking, to prevent the birds from getting used to the bird, take it away every few days. That way they don't always see it and assumes it flies!
After setting a similar owl on my porch I found it doesn't keep the local birds away because they have no idea what an owl is. I can view the owl with my surveillance camera and saw a few stray cats attack it. Once they realized it wasn't real they took off running. 😉

I planted these redwoods 16 years ago and now they are getting attacked by sapsucker woodpeckers I think they think the bark is rotten because the bark is naturally spongy, I planted them in Maryland so our woodpeckers dont see many redwood trees

Yeah. Didn't work for me. The magpies just looked at it and proceeded into my house. I then put a mirror out and they started pecking at it looking at themselves in the mirror. My fault as I've been giving them treats. 😒
I ordered one of these but not to scare off woodpeckers because I love woodpeckers but I do hate and despise hawk's,I had one last year swoop in and it grabbed my 9 month kitten old whilst I was gardening and I will never get it's screams out of my head and the hawk also killed 3 of my homing pigeons and since those vile birds of prey are protected I am not allowed to kill it or else I would so I hope this owl will keep it away since they are mortal enemies.
I wish I could have that beautiful hawk here so I can get rid of the disgusting pigeons nesting in my neighbour's roof, and crapping all over mine.
So squirrels have pulled up shingles, chewed my interior wiring, my outside lights. Now I have to spend $400 on plastic owls that might not work .

I think when it’s windy, it works best. The movement is needed otherwise, it’ll get ignored. There is a solar powered model that also screeches which works better

This owl is so passive, that while it scares off the woodpeckers, it attracts dominant owls that come to mate with it. Pick your poison.
