This movie just shows how some movie studios treat a movie franchise. The movie studio lost the rights to the name Charles Lee Ray and his entire backstory. But they still wanted to cash in on the Child's Play name and movie franchise. So they made Chucky a electronic toy gone wrong because that was their only option. Because a voodoo ritual was a part of the original Chucky's backstory so they lost that too. So the movie studio had to make him a electronic toy gone wrong. That on the other hand could never happen with Michael Myers and Halloween. Because John Carpenter came up with both Michael Myers backstory and his look. So if he ever got the rights back to Halloween the movie studio would literally have nothing to work with. Because John Carpenter created everything in the first Halloween movie the movie studio only funded it. They had no creative input whatsoever so they would end up with nothing in court. Friday the 13th the movies not the television series that's a completely different thing. But the movies the original screenwriter got the rights to everything in the first movie. That means the name Jason Voorhees his backstory you know him dying by drowning in 1957 or whenever as a child. The movie studio only got the rights to image of a guy in a hockey mask. Because they added that after the first movie a judge ruled they did. Not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So the movie studio lost the rights to that name and his backstory. So if the movie studio wanted to go forth and make another movie on their own. Without original screenwriters permission they would have to reboot and give the killer a complete whole new name and backstory. Like they did in this movie for Chucky. This is why I think out of all of the horror movie franchises. You have been watching A Nightmare on Elm Street is the best one. Because there's only eight original movies Wes Craven was welcome back at any time. They occasionally consulted him about the movies. They even asked him to write and direct them from time to time. Wich he did if he had an idea for one. So that show that New line Cinema actually cared about it and cares about it as a movie franchise. Because they constantly kept Wes Craven involved and had him work on it as much as he want it to. Unlike Child's Play , Halloween and Friday the 13th. Those movie studios behind them Friday the 13th is ify because at some point New Lime Cinema got that movie franchise. But that happend long after part 9 I believe but before that. That other Movie Studio and the ones behind Halloween and Child's Play. Really didn't care anything about them as long as they can make a movie and make money. That shows in this movie the movie studio new they lost everything that made Chucky Chucky. And they did not care and still made a movie anyways to cash in that movie franchise. This is a true cash grabe movie .
I mean think about it if they had access to Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. Dont you think they would of used it in this movie. I mean they had no problems doing random stuff in other movies. With him so what would stop them now. Other then they lost the rights to it. Leaving them no other option than to completely redo it.
I know this stuff is not necessarily fun facts. But from what I seen all of you are unknowingly Liking. More movies that had people working on them that cared about the movie. Like for example you liked Halloween 4 that movie's director actually. Cared about the movies that came before it an he wanted to continue it. The director of Halloween 5 did not care about it he just wrote a script that made the movie studio happy. You liked the first Nightmare on Elm Street movie and the third one better even the forth one better. Then the second one Freddy's Revenge. The director of the second one apparently hated everything about Freddy Krueger. From the first movie so he made him how he thought he should have been in the first movie. So he did not care about the movie franchise he only cared about what he wanted. Then the Child's Play movie franchise it seem like you like the original 3 movies more. The ones working on them then cared about continuing the story and it's continuity. More then the ones that followed the piont I bring this up is. You are starting to notice when someone behind a movie actually. Cares about the movie more than just making money from it. Because I know the point of a movie is to make money but it can be done in a way that shows you care and respect it. That is with a sequel or prequel you stay true to the core story but you can. Still do your own thing as long as you stay true to the core story an its facts. Case in point the ones you had problems with. Halloween 5 didn't care about any story just did what the movie studio wanted him to do. Nightmare on Elm Street 2 didn't like Freddy Krueger from the start. So he reinvented him to his liking not caring about the first movie at all. The Child's Play movies after the 3rd one. They basically stopped caring about continuity and it shows in the movies by things being random from Movie 2 movie. The fact that you are starting to see what movies have actual care put behind them. Then wich ones don't without even knowing it. Is a good thing because some people fail to see that care. That was actually put into the movies they just blindly accept what every movie says. Even if it is a sequel that counters the movie that came before. Wich is sad because it's when someone doesn't care about a movie or a movie franchise. That you end up with a movie like Jason X. Seriously the fact that they are still making Halloween movies with Michael Myers. I'm waiting for Michael Myers to be in space killing aliens on a alien planet on Halloween. Even then there will still be people blindly accepting it I can almost guarantee it.
Ooouu I hope you guys can finish Halloween franchise, Halloween: H20 & Halloween: Resurrection for sure. Halloween (2007) was mad crazy but just some suggestions in case y’all continue those movies.

No this is happend because at some point the original screenwriters filed a lawsuit. Then got the rights back to the first movie so he got the rights to the name Charles Lee Ray. Along with his entire backstory the movie studio did not have the rights to use the name or the backstory. But movie studio made a movie with what they had and that was the doll only. So they had to come up with a backstory that was new and it was only a electronic toy gone wrong. Because the Voodoo ritual was apart of the original backstory for Charles Lee Ray. So the movie studio lost that to so they only had one option. That was to make Chucky a electronic toy gone wrong. Its basically what happened in the lawsuit for the rights to Friday the 13th. Wich was finally settled last year I believe in December. The result was the original screenwriter for the first Friday the 13th movie. Got the rights to everything in his original screenplay for the first movie. So that means they got the right to the name Jason Voorhees. The backstory of him dying in 1957 by drowning in Crystal Lake. The name Friday the 13th along with everything else that is said an shown in the first movie. The only thing movie studio got was the rights to a image of a guy in a hockey mask. Because they added that after the first movie. They lost the rights to the name Jason Voorhees and his backstory. Because the judge ruled it was mentioned in the first movie wich it was. So the movie studio did not get permission to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. From the original screenwriter for the first movie he came up with the name and the backstory. So they needed to get his permission to use it but they did not. So basically the movie studio would have to completely reboot entire thing. Around a killer in a hockey mask that means a new name and new backstory and everything. If they try to make another one without the original screenwriters permission. Thats what happend in this movie plain and simple. The movie studio said we don't need Charles Lee Ray or his backstory. Because we lost the rights to it but we're going to make another movie anyways. This is how this movie happend.
@@83shadow3 yes that's what I said they lost the right But what's weird To Me That Disney Studios Was gonna Pick Up The Franchise But Universal studios said Hell To The No!
@@kevaunmitchell1316 You were partly correct but wrong in a lawsuit against the movie studio. The original screenwriter for the first movie. Got exclusive rights to the character Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. The movie studio wich is completely separate then the screenwriter from the first movie. Could only use the doll and the name Chucky both them an the original screenwriter for the first movie. Have access to the doll and the name Chucky. But only the original screenwriter for the first movie has access to the name Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. Thats why this movie is a full on reboot because the movie studio wanted to make it to make money. But they lost the rights to Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. So they made a whole new one up because they had no choice. To whare Chucky was electronic toy gone wrong. The person behind the Chucky TV series is the original screenwriter behind the first movie. Thats why he can use Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. Because he has clusive rights to it so thats whare you are wrong. This is a case of one person that being the original screenwriter for the first movie. Getting exclusive rights to a character a character that being Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. Then another party that being the movie studio only ending up with. Permission to use a doll and a name that being Chucky. But they do not have exclusive rights to it because the first party that being the screenwriter for the original movie can also use it. The original screenwriter who got the rights to the character Charles Lee Ray and his backstory. Then the movie studio who can use the doll an the name Chucky only. Is a separate entity from the screenwriter this movie was made by the movie studio who could use the doll an the name Chucky. Now do you understand they legally cannot use the name Charles Lee Ray or his backstory. Because a independent person that being the person who wrote the first screenplay for the first movie. Got Sole and exclusive right to it. So the movie studio is separate from the screenwriter.
@@83shadow3 you do know that don Mancini is the original screenwriter right and the original movie was named batteries not included and was changed to blood buddy but named it after the 1972 horror film of that same name which I gotta watch I hope it's not horrible because I love 70s horror movies
You know something funny? I've never really been a fan of straight up action movies, but I usually like horror movies because they have action in them. It's almost like a paradox, you know?
It was gory and creative with obvious special effects but the horror factor wasn’t there for me like the original. I would enjoy this if it was the original and Childs play 1 from the 80s never existed! Great reaction, tho! What’s next👀?
Hated this remake. Lol. I was so disappointed. Chucky being a malfunctioning toy was so stupid to me. The voodoo aspect is what made him “scary” ugh. love u guys!
It's very different but I liked it for just that reason you have the same characters, in Andy his mom and the detective but obviously different actors this time around but those names are the same.
I liked this movie but chucky is still my favorite. People didn't like it because like the nightmare on elm Street remake it's because they had a different actor play the character so it didn't feel right to them if you understand what I'm saying great video
And they suppose to be making a sequel I'm still iffy if I like this one or not it completely a different movie instead of a serial killer putting his soul in a doll where this one a artificial intelligence gone haywire and Chucky sympathetic in this movie.
I was hating on this movie before it came out. i hated the design, the idea of AI, a reboot nothing to do with the original but I enjoyed it way more than the cult of chucky.
this movie is kinda ridiculous Edit: I take it back it's started looking ridiculous but it's like a scary ai future. i actually agree with drew and your thoughts at the end
@@SomethingCinema I want a sequel of Child's Play where Army of AI Chucky dolls dominate earth and enslaved humanity and abducted Andy and the town will come together and save Andy and then Slenderman Freddy Krueger Sonic EXE will be the third villains in the next horror movies
The sad thing is this was a cash grab. It’s not that bad of a film but they aren’t able to make a sequel legally since mgm only owns the film rights to Childs Play 1 which is why they were able to make this movie while Universal Studios owns everything from Childs Play 2-the Chucky TV show. But I would be open to a sequel to the 2019 reboot

It was a good remake but not deserving of the Child's Play title. Chucky is a personality in the original series. In this remake he's just an AI and it was hard to really buy into it. Especially if they'd planned a sequel or two. Like, how is one AI going to keep going after one kid? Lol. I liked the original voodoo story better just because it was a serial killer inside a doll. This didn't have his classic one liners either and I can see why a sequel was never green lit and instead they brought back the original in a TV Series. I did enjoy the story here, but it should of been it's own thing not working off of the title Child's Play.

🤔🤔
That is funny lol
We love you Dallas, Donna and Drew!!!!
We love you too
We don’t talk about this one 😬still gives me night mares 😭😭 enjoyed the reaction tho❤️❤️
😂😂 thanks for watching the movie with us
Great reaction i still stick with the original🔥🔥💯💯💪💪
The original is great 🔥🔥
@@SomethingCinema yeah this one was ok just not as good as original
Agreed
It was gory and creative with obvious special effects but the horror factor wasn’t there for me like the original. I would enjoy this if it was the original and Childs play 1 from the 80s never existed! Great reaction, tho! What’s next👀?
Thanks for watching it with us!!
I've never seen this movie but I might get it lol. Thanks for the video.
Hope you like it!
Thank you u guys are the best 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
You're the best too
Hated this remake. Lol. I was so disappointed. Chucky being a malfunctioning toy was so stupid to me. The voodoo aspect is what made him “scary” ugh. love u guys!
We love you too... thanks for watching it with us
Its not chucky. Its terminator junior .
Peace out 👊🏻
Lol
It's very different but I liked it for just that reason you have the same characters, in Andy his mom and the detective but obviously different actors this time around but those names are the same.
🔥🔥🔥
I liked this movie but chucky is still my favorite. People didn't like it because like the nightmare on elm Street remake it's because they had a different actor play the character so it didn't feel right to them if you understand what I'm saying great video
Yeah we understand
And they suppose to be making a sequel I'm still iffy if I like this one or not it completely a different movie instead of a serial killer putting his soul in a doll where this one a artificial intelligence gone haywire and Chucky sympathetic in this movie.
They really made you feel for chucky
I was hating on this movie before it came out. i hated the design, the idea of AI, a reboot nothing to do with the original but I enjoyed it way more than the cult of chucky.
It's definitely not as bad as people say it is
Again I never knew this movie existed 😂
Lol
this movie is kinda ridiculous
Edit: I take it back it's started looking ridiculous but it's like a scary ai future. i actually agree with drew and your thoughts at the end
Not a bad movie... but it's different from who chucky is
@@SomethingCinema yes

Hey Dallas and Donna 😊😊🤗🤗

@@SomethingCinema 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This movie wasn't as bad as everyone said it was
can you guys react to "the lost boys" it would mean the world to me
Yes we have that on the list
They recalled the buddi 2s because they dont want the buddi 2 release to be remembered as a tragedy
Makes sense
I loved the reboot it was actually scary
We enjoyed it too
@@SomethingCinema I don't know if you like older movies, but a great horror film that will kind of disturb you is a 1986 film called "The Hitcher" it was really creepy
We will add it to the list
@@SomethingCinema If you want any suggestions just ask, I've maybe seen over 5,000 films now, and own over 1,000 on Blu-ray/DVD and really enjoy them and seeing you guys react to them
Oh ok cool 🔥🔥
Did you forgot to react to the Chucky The TV Series? Because It's from the Child's Play Franchise.
No we didn't
Are you guys gonna do a reaction to the tv series
Yes, but not sure if it will be right away
This wasn’t the best to me they didn’t bring back Brad Dourif to play the voice the remake wasn’t my cup of tea it was definitely more brutal than some of the older movies but I didn’t like it really I’ll stick to the older Chucky but btw what Drew said about them naming it Good Guy that’s actually what it was gonna be named before Childs Play back in 1988 but I love the reaction I watch literally every horror movie reaction you guys should check out the 1st season of the Chucky tv show it’s only 8 episodes I think it’s on Peacock still
We will definitely check out the TV show
What the goo is the introll lol
🔥🔥
Can y’all add see no evil and see no evil 2 to the list
Adding it to the list
Another movie I saw in theaters I thought was great.
It's good
I Think Nolan North Should play chucky.
🤔🤔
Ya'll should watch The Grudge movies
Adding them to the list
Here's another film to react to.
Little Evil-(2017)
Ok! Will add it
No clue why people hate this so much i thought it was pretty good
We think so too
Mosquito. This movie disappointed me in many ways. It was okay. It could been a whole lot better.
That's understandable
One of the BEST Remakes & Reboots IMO
We enjoyed it
When you guys have a chance. I was wondering if you guys can react to the movie Love and Basketball. It is such a good movie.
We've seen that movie before... Donna loves that movie
Dallas with your scary ass lol
It was a good remake but not deserving of the Child's Play title. Chucky is a personality in the original series. In this remake he's just an AI and it was hard to really buy into it. Especially if they'd planned a sequel or two. Like, how is one AI going to keep going after one kid? Lol. I liked the original voodoo story better just because it was a serial killer inside a doll. This didn't have his classic one liners either and I can see why a sequel was never green lit and instead they brought back the original in a TV Series. I did enjoy the story here, but it should of been it's own thing not working off of the title Child's Play.
We agree with everything you said 💯
I wanted the detective to date the mom. If they have another one.
That might be interesting
I think everyone (me especially) was glad for Shane's death.
Some people are just so awful they deserve it.
That was crazy
This movie is not bad. It was just not needed 🥴
🤣🤣 makes sense
I like this movie
🔥🔥
Are you going to do Chucky the TV series
Yes we will
do you guys have individual instagrams or twiitters?
Yeah but never really use lol
Mark Hamill who played Chucky was ok but the movie I seen sucked ya can't beat the original one.
Can't beat the original but we still liked the movie
Please react to case 39 or Friday the 13th 2009
