Wow, what a legend Ron Lundy was. Thank you so very much for sharing this with all of his and your fans, including myself. I greatly appreciate it as always.👏☺️
Yes, he was on the air from 10 AM to 2 PM, just before Dan Ingram show. I grew up in NJ as a teenager and remember those days so well. I remember Cousin Brucie too (Bruce Morrow), I believe he went to WNBC from there.
As a former DJ, MD, PD, across most formats I can't tell you how great it is to hear these airchecks. For those of us who remember getting our first transistor radio and having the blankets pulled over our heads late @ night listing to 50,000 Watt Top 40 Rockers from across the country it was ALL MAGIC.
1 of the greatest AM stations in the nation, by December 1979, Harry Harrison, Chuck Leonard and George Michael were let go from the station and Dan Ingram was switched to mornings, changes to try to save the ratings which were slipping. Musicradio 77WABC gone but never forgotten.
And how about that, some of the best hits from the biggest artists of the time, that would become the best of the eighties. And all the way back in 1979. Thank you again, sir.
Yes, you are correct. ABC owned Top 40. NYC & Surrounding Metro Areas. I recall the years when WMCA tried to compete. You have a great channel and those of us who were "Analog DJ's (1970's)" thank you for your great channel.
The very good old days. I miss them.
I am so glad I found this channel. 🎉🎙️
@@videooblivion We try to post some radio audio every day!

“Best music, Best station, WABC”

"Hello Love" Ron Lundy had that friendly, folksy style that us tough talking New Yorkers couldn't knock. He was fun, homey and real.

RON! I'm glad he at least got those Beatles tunes in there, I always associate his voice with the 60's early 70's sound...and the "chime time"! 👍🏼😄
I believe his sign on phrase was "Hello, Love....Good Morning!"
Great DJ’s with WABC.

He has that voice that is often used as the stereotypical DJ voice even today...
Ron was one of the great WABC DJs
77 WABC, the station often copied but never bettered. Great memories!
