You did a fantastic job and it really just makes me want to say "PLEASE MAKE MORE UNDERTALE FIGHTS!" but I know you'll want to do lots of other games too. You earned a sub! STAY DETERMINED!"
I bought Undertale on Steam a few weeks ago and I recently got more and more interested in the game and all it has to offer. I decided to not do a True Reset yet. Maybe I might do one once I manage to dodge all the names in the Special Thanks credits. Anyway, I find it cool that there's this recent video on the game.
@@Poly_Knight I love that you're trying to recreate 3D version of Undertale, but in order to truly make a 3D game you have to add one more way that a character can move (going up/jumping) and there's more room for more bullet in the space (to make sure that player can't escape 2D directional bullet by jumping).
I loved what you did here, one of the best 3d Undertale videos I've ever seen, it translates so well. Idk if you plan on continuing this, but I have a couple suggestions: 1. Hide the UI while an attack is happening, it'll help it be more polished. 2. Make so when frisk is switching between defence and attack he starts in the same place. The fact he slides to different positions is a little jarring. 3. Give a little more animation to Asgore when he takes a hit, maybe make him heave his shoulders a bit more as the battle progresses or something. 4. Make the flashes of his eyes a bit more prominent. There's a lot more detail here than there is in Undertale, and the eyes are really easy to miss if your not actively looking for it. 5. Giving frisk an simple attack animation would make it feel a bit more dynamic. As well as maybe different posses depending on how hurt they are, or what weapon they have. 6. Animate him cooking and eating Ramen noodles mid fight. It's increadibly important, trust me bro.
I think an easier improvement you could do is when he is doing the blue and orange attack to cut the spotlight that lights asgore, maybe also the stage, since not only is it hard to see the sprite in his eyes, but it mimicks what the 2D game does. There's other things but this seems like the most crucial to facilitate what you already have. Still a very fun recreation for sure
I think angling the camera lower for that attack so the player has a better vision of Asgore's eyes would improve it. It also shouldn't be an issue for dodging because the attacks tell is the eyes.
Astarker lighting contrast on his face, a close-up zoom of his face, and a third animated stance for him (readying the trident for the swipes) would improve both the spectacle and readability, then it can zoom out and give just a second for players. He can swap to the stance in the some moment the camera zooms in to hide the lack of animation, and swap out of the stance when the camera refocuses on Frisk
Very nice! Some minor nitpicks: The marker cubes that spawn the wibbly fire lines are still visible. The music doesn't loop properly (it should just play ASGORE on loop instead of playing the intro theme again). Asgore's health bar in the target-select menu stays full the whole time instead of matching his actual health.
I also like it but i can't help but feel frisk's head is an apple model that has multiple colors and layers added onto it, just because of the top part which seems like it sinks in at the middle and has a strand goimg out of it just like an apple, might not actually be like that during designing but it just feels like it

Looking good! A few tweak suggestions: -Custom camera angles for different attacks, especially when projectiles come from under the camera -Have Asgore disappear for attacks where the projectiles come from behind him -Have a black and white version of Asgore for certain attacks, will help make his eyes more readable, and make him have more flair

bro made only a single video and got 18K SUBSCRIBERS, what a legend, and the video is amazing and the game is also amazing, you should make it be able to us to play it
Overall great! 2 things i'd improve though: 1. On Asgore's eye attack, I'd dim the brightness of the room (or if we're getting lazy you could just use a vignette) to put the player's attention on Asgore himself. Alternatively, you could keep the attack camera on him until he finishes his eye patterns and THEN switch out to the battle camera. 2. The dynamic camera angles are great, and i'm sure it was complicated to setup, but I'd personally have kept the player's position when switching back to the battle camera, as changing the player's position constantly can be off-putting in 3D, in Underatle it worked great though, so this is more optional. Be proud of this! This is an amazing project. I'm being nitpicky with these small details due to your desire to be a great developer and because I noticed you spent a lot of time on polish.
The sad thing is that Asgore is holding back the whole fight. He doesn't want to kill, but he's in a position where he absolutely must do this for his people otherwise they will literally die from depression. He also holds back because he is extremely depressed himself. He even kills himself in neutral endings if you got rid of Flowey after the previous fight. Let's hope that he and Toriel patch things up while working together at the school. They both deserve happiness again.
For real, this was one of the fights that didn't expect to hit me so hard. There was so much guilt in his words and music and I hope he can forgive himself one day :')
A perfect representation of the game preserved in a 3D environment so far. Part of me would like to see more animation for the bosses when performing their attacks, but it could also probably distract a lot from the scaling.
Hey! I just found this video, and wondered, "what would a Chara jumpscare be like in 3D?" This looks cool! The way you move around to avoid attacks is amazing. 👍
I do notice an oversight on 7:41 you can see when selecting Fight and the target it always shows Asgore with a full health bar. Minor detail, overall incredible work!
I'm so glad to see Undertale content being made in 2023. I loved Undertale so much when it came out, and it still holds a heavy grip on me to this day. This game changed my life forever, I'm so glad it inspired you too! You did a great job!!!
Just saying this in case you’d want to update the project later, or maybe it can give you ideas for future projects, but I think that the camera for enemy attacks should be slightly further away and probably shouldn’t follow the player. During enemy attacks, the HUD should either be hidden or have the opacity reduced by a good amount. The flashes on Asgore’s eyes could’ve been more noticeable if you displayed a light effect on them, respective to the colors they should display, as well as dimming the rest of the arena a little bit. Otherwise a very solid project, I have high hopes for the future of your projects :)
Gotta say, as a professional Undertale creator, it was pretty good. I've seen a lot of games come and go in the UT community, and this one is by far one of the best ones I have seen. It matches levels with fangames currently out, such as No More Deals, Undertale Yellow(Upcoming), and Dusttale: Last Genocide. A lot of fangames have come out, and this Undertale 3d was not totally unique, as there have been demos beforehand. But. This is the highest when it comes to quality. By Quality, some of the fangames when they were 3d were rough redesigns or really short ideas, but were playable nonetheless. I've played them as well. Since Gamejolt allows you to post them on it for free without needing permission from Toby Fox - as long as you put credits, why don't you upload it there? I would love to play that!
This looks pretty damn neat. The attacks/attack arena look nice and the speed change to compensate the 3d looks like it works well. I feel like the one thing that bothered me though was his eye attack. It doesn't seem to give a tell besides the small period of no attacks at the beginning, and the eye flashing seems small. I feel like darkening the sprite (slightly or obviously) would probably be a good indication of the attack, alongside making it feel a bit more dynamic than Asgore just standing there.
This is an awesome thing you've done! All of the models and sprites look so good and the gameplay looks just as good and clean as the original! But just as my note: I think that dimming the surroundings during his Orange and Blue attack, and possibly during the opening too, could make it look a lot smoother. Attack wind ups have to be extremely clear and more full of life, which is very easy with how minimalistic Undertale is, but it's a little hard to recognise here with how much is going on! Other than that, this was an awesome job! Keep up the incredible work! You've done such a great job by yourself and I look forward to seeing your future work!
@@Poly_Knight It is really good, hell if you give some animation to the moves like Asgore casting the magic instead of just standing there... menacingly But with the resources you had available and the time you did a very impressive job

This is amazing! But I do think you can add some things to make it even better. - asgores eyes flashing bigger -possibly make his swinging animations better and his opening scene animation have his arm come out like in the game - better camera angles for some attacks But this is amazing other than those things!

i’m actually SHOCKED how underrated you are for how much talent you’ve demonstrated. take my sub and continue to grow!
Thank you for your kind words, I will do my best >:)
This was a vey well made project and I can’t wait to see what else he can do! Hope to see some more stuff like this. Great work man!
This guy is so talented. The games looks so good. Can't wait for the Asriel Fight!
Genuinely surprised at how well this turned out. I don't know much about the whole "remaking-a-video-game" process, but I love the scene, the ambience, and especially the character models. The models live up to the simplistic style so well.
I really hope you make more videos like this, it's so cool so see video games turned 3D
This is absolutely gorgeous!! I wish there was more! If you ever plan on making this into a full game please do so!
Man... Seeing the final result legit brought tears to my eyes. It was so nice to see such a nostalgic fight turned into a playable 3d scenario
This is just beautiful!
If Toby ever wants to make Undertale a 3D rerelease I hope he messages you! 🤞
I am looking forward what you post next!
bro made only a single video and got 18K SUBSCRIBERS, what a legend, and the video is amazing and the game is also amazing, you should make it be able to us to play it
Overall great! 2 things i'd improve though:
@@Poly_Knight yo can you make the ruins?
The thing is, Asgore can dodge as said by undyne, if he wasn't holding back he would block our attacks via trident or dodge
@@Yoriichi2378 He's faster than we are.... sad.
Also, Toriel is happy. ASGORE isn't, but he's living with it. Would you rather Toriel be miserable?
This is AMAZING! Can't wait to see what you do in the future!
I love what you did here. I found this video by chance, and it's amazing. I love Undertale and you did such a wonderful job!
You only have one video, yet it is this amount of quality? Well done. I can't wait for more.
Bro, you are a legend. I share this to my friends and they say "this Is amazing". Wow
I guarantee this guy will be big. Keep the good work up, man!
Thank you!!
I also thinks the projectiles are just not fast enough. They’re too easy to dodge and don’t speed up.
One Time i thought if someone would actually make Undertale in 3D
and surprisingly, someone actually did it.
That deserves a Sub
Appreciated :D
@@Poly_Knight It is really good, hell if you give some animation to the moves like Asgore casting the magic instead of just standing there... menacingly
But with the resources you had available and the time you did a very impressive job
Holy crap! This is amazing, the whole artstyle looks amazing.
thank you for your kind words!!
You are incredible, your kobs is incredible ! Continue like that ! Hope you make the entire game ;p
That is surprisingly well translated! It almost feels like an alternative universe version, like a pre alpha or something.
More like if Undertale was Earthbound, this would be the Earthbound 64 of the franchise
Incredible. I want to see the whole game like this now, that would be super cool!
I would definitely pay for a full game in this style for the UT 10th anniversary or something.
For a youtuber this size, YOU ARE A LEGEND :D
that is some insane talent, knowledge and hard work you've put there. it's amazing how many stuff are still made for undertale even after years. amazing content sir U_U🤌🏽
@Itoki Norishiba touch grass
Ficou incrível parabéns pelo trabalho!adoraria jogar sua versão
This is the best first video I have ever seen, this guy has so much hidden potential within the community, great work man!
This guy has a huge future he is pretty good coding
yeah he wouldve been hired by roblox because he so good at coding
photoshop flowey would be INSANE
Fr
i love how he explains it to where if you didn't know about undertale you'd still be able to enjoy it
This is amazing! But I do think you can add some things to make it even better.
- asgores eyes flashing bigger
-possibly make his swinging animations better and his opening scene animation have his arm come out like in the game
- better camera angles for some attacks
But this is amazing other than those things!
Awwww yeah, very vibe game and video😘
._.
The animations are so smooth! I need to see more of this
You can't say Frisk without risk
Just say fsk then

You are a legend this looks amazing I can tell your gonna be a big game developer one day and be remembered as a legend
5:00 Fris 😂
Bro, last year I responded to the top comment, and just literally created a war 💀
What comment
man this is incredible! I can imagine how cool all the bosses can be in this style with like platforming section for sans and papyrus, the Muffet fight or a firing opinion for mettaton
And it is people like you (and other game developers/content creators) who are the reason I 1ant to be a game dev.
Thank you.
Making the best fight in the game in 3D? This video is very underrated. Great job!
Idk how you have managed to nail two of my favorite games! Heck yea!!!
This is an amazing creation, everything looks so good! Some parts even work better then some triple A games. I loved how the camera panned to frisks when it’s his turn to attack. I would love to see a photoshop flowey fight in 3D, but that would seem very difficult. Keep up the good work❤
wow, this is genuinely so amazing, keep up the great work!
I really hope to see more from you in the future.
Found this 6 months after it was uploaded but its a really cool project.
these models look so good! Good job on that! :D
6:11 The trident interacting with the gui looked suprisingly cool!
This is the best recreation of Undertale I’ve ever seen 🤩 If Toby Fox ever made a 3D Undertale, I think he should bring you on for those amazing 3D designs!
This is so good! I would love to see more battles!
U did a really great job! It looks so good!
Bravo good sir! If at some point you feel like doing this for the entire game I would not be complaining.
thats... so good. especually the idea to actually not force 3rd person view (behind the character) during the dodging phase... thats much better idea here tbh.
theres definitely many things to improve but its such a great looking fight tbh. good work
I'm glad the algorithm brought me here! I'm really looking forward to following your game development journey! Keep it up! Given that I saw The Messenger in your intro during the Hollow Knight video, I'm really interested in seeing how you plan to put your spin on it, as it is one of my favorite video games
