Thanks a lot for this, the soft focus effect you show here has worked really well for me!

Beautifully done - the improvement in the finished image is remarkable! Thanks too for highlighting the "Blending Option/Range" - I'd never seen that before.

Thank you. I am planning to do a tutorial on the Blending option at some point. I just need to find time amongst everything else.

Very good series Robin. I just picked up your Affinity Photo book and between this series and the book I’m hoping to improve my b&w images using AP.

Thank you for your help with all your tutorials, and especially Affinity Photo.
I watched a tutorial about dodging and burning in LR where you are able to change the hue/colour of the dodge effect, is that possible with Affinity Photo?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I'm following the question. Do you have a link to the original video? It might help me understand better.

@@RobinWhalley Hi Robin, the video was by Mark Denney, the part where he explains and performs this effect is around the 7:30mark. ruclips.net/video/tcGbn5CUUQ0/видео.html
Thanks so much for your videos! They are EXTREMELY helpful!

@@ItsWillLee Thanks for clarifying and sorry for the delay in replying. Your message was in my "Held for Review" by RUclips section and I didn't see it. Yes, you can achieve this but not in the same way. I personally wouldn't call the demonstration on the video dodging and burning but rather selective colour adjustment. Dodging and burning to me affects only the tones of the image rather than changing the colours. The example in the video you shared used the built-in photo filter that's part of the selection tools in Lightroom. In Affinity, you would achieve the same thing by adding a colour adjustment layer like a LUT or selective colour adjustment. One you set the colour you want you add a mask which you invert to turn black. This hides the effect allowing you to then paint onto the mask with a white brush. Where you paint you reveal the colour. Hope this helps.
