BlackBerry Passport is SUCH a beautiful phone to use, that keyboard is insanely innovatingly good and BB10 was so intuitive. I only stopped using my as my main phone six months ago due to not having the aps I needed and gmail and outlook not playing nice with it anymore - and it now lives as a bluetooth control for my 1970's Pioneer stereo system, which gives me a lovely display for choosing my music, easy search, tactile interaction, no Spotify ads or subscriptions - just a beautiful quiet direct way to control and listen to my music. The camera actually had 1440p and 60fps which was wild for 2014, it was the lens that let the camera down but it was surprisingly good when those settings were bumped up to max.
same but for some reason i had issues with it BT connection to my car or other devices. either it kept disconnecting or sound would stutter. i plan to use it as text call and music(wired) player when i go overseas
I had a white Passport until I dropped it in water. I then bought the Passport SE. The SE version was different because it has the capacitive keyboard which scrolls almost like a mouse, you can still use to flick up the words. It allows you could assign functions to specific keys. I work in digital maps ie GIS so this phone was great because the wide screen allows a bigger map view. I really miss BB10 too.
@@JR-px9gp call, text, calendar, notes, music, dictionary, compass and bb browser still works. just kinda slow. 4g works if your carrier supports it. wifi works its a great smartphone well to me the above features are cosidered smart. social media apps to me are not smart features unless it is google maps and gmail

You completely didn't get the essence of what you are reviewing. Especially when you said that you'd prefer it if it had a stock android or iphone OS.... But that's what a BB is all about. The BBOS. The gestures years ahead of the competition. You'd prefer a visual keyboard to the physical one... That's because the new generation got addicted to it.
What I miss the most about the blackberry is the fact that it was a purposeful communication device. You picked it up to work to communicate. That's it.
after using a lot android device even modern devices i still miss my old BB passport esp. silver edition. it was a unsurpassed email machine, fantastic. I am thinking of buying one again
Blackberry OS was great. You have reasons to use that operating systems from privacy, security, and business applications. It wasn't used for gaming or taking high quality pictures. I love Blackberry the problem for me was that the Mounties had the keys to the operating system. Also many things that are with Apple were influenced by Blackberry. Thumbs down on this video.
The Silver Edition was a great phone. It was VERY convenient for pdf and word documents. A shame Android wouldn't make a version that fit the Passport screen. Of course, that's because Google had the foldables on the drawing board and didn't want any competition for them.
I thought the aspect ratio of this phone was super cool, but they really dropped the ball on the keyboard size. It is literally too thin and as such i couldn't really use the phone how i wanted. I ended up sending the phone back within a month even though i liked everything else about it. This phone would be amazing in today's age actually considering the screen technology. Move the screen up higher and stretch the keys up. Would be a perfect classic design.
Hey, can you do a video on how the quality changes on the front facing camera on any phone with a screen protector vs without a screen protector? Thanks 🙏
because as much as we like physical keyboards we are still minority compared to touch users. plus what you could do on physical keys can be done aswell on touchscreens. plus we are on era we want bigger screens
After buying a Samsung in 2006 and hating it and being phone free for the next 8 years, I bought a BlackBerry Passport in 2015. After replacing the battery in 2018 it died a year and a half later. I've been through a key2 Blackberry and another stupid Samsung which thank goodness had to be replaced after 22 months and it still breaks my heart to not have my BB Passport like it was. I'm still in mourning for it now in 2024. It was such a GREAT phone. I wonder what phones Mike Lazaridis and Doug Fregin are using these days.
I think the biggest problem with Blackberry was that they couldn't get past the old design of the physical keyboard and their own software. This design was good for a smartphone made in 2005 or 2006, but not really past 2009.
@CycloidalHeadache anyphone with calendar, calculator, notes, camera, and sound recorder still smartphone. i dont know why people consider social media phones are smartphones
They need to bring back the Blackberry with modern specs but still with the keypad.
Seriously, typing on a screen is straight up garbage. Anyone that would prefer a touch screen for typing over physical buttons is a masochist.

So the phone is unusable for call text and internet?

Blackberry 10 ahead of its time, it's still smoother than many android phones
Absolutely true
its essentially a mini tablet as phone, good choice for a cyberpunk
I would love to see a new blackberry passport phone with official android system . 2024 . I would buy it even if its 900usd
1.5inch taller but same width on an android system with atleast 8gen1 chipset would be so great
with blackberry os 11, android is not that good
No thanks. When Blackberry switch to android it went down hill.
@@coolerking7427 Android is such a mediocre system
Trust me, phones like this will hit the market & popular again soon.
Lol keep dreaming
It's already started. Lots of money to be made here. Qwerty phones in-between 'smart' and 'dumb'
"We" aren't moving away from physical keyboards, the tech companies are.
Can't wait for you to review this for the 12th time.

Would the BlackBerry Classic work in 2024, what do you think, 🤔
because I would like to buy it, because the mobile is a real masterpiece 😊
How is that keyboard too small for ur fingers? Hahahaha touchscreen keyboards are harder for people with big hands... blackberry keyboard is huge
I still love mine. I have the AT&T variant.

No one will ever bend this mighty phone and it’s sooooo secure. iPhones are fucking shit
the home screen on the blackberry kinda looks like the iPhone 4S home screen
you know like IOS 5.1.1
… In a time when to ipads they sell external keybords and stands to make it more computer like- oh the BBRy
Best phone I ever had BY FAR.
Why not samsung make the fold phone with a keyboard on the side that when you flip it upwards its a passport!
