I have been a private music instructor for 25+ years. I have format music theory training.
Let me tell you, Jerry has got the right idea. I used his Mandolin method after I built my mandolin. It not only teaches you Mandolin; it teaches you how music works, all in an easy to follow format. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You can't beat the price for what you will get out of it.

I have been playing guitar for about 3 or 4 years with mixed success not really understanding what i was taught or doing, I bought Jerrys Guitar training and after a few days not only understood but saw my playing go from strength to strength and it has now become much more enjoyable.
If you want to learn how to play and have fun and understand then GET THE TRAINING the small cost is worth it and you really will benefit from it, It's that simple.

Been playing guitar for 17 years but have been stuck the same level of chord banging for like a decade. Have been considering paying for your lessons for awhile as a way to support you and definitely will as soon as I have some money to do so. I think this is the perfect time for you to talk up your lessons as a lot of people have a lot more free time for self improvement right now. I have the misfortune to be "essential" but there's still no time like now to start. Also I have loved your videos and they've been of great help for me even though I have to come up with alternative methods for everything since I don't have a shop with a customized tool for every occasion haha

My Scottish guitar teacher spent some time in Africa. As a musician and teacher, he became interested in how drummers learn to play complicated African beats and learn to play with several other drums and rhythm instruments. he taught me how to sing the rhythms starting with patting, clapping tapping and then using specific "sounds" that enabled me to feel the rhythm. I still don't play any instrument well at all but I sure do dance better and enjoy music more.

Jerry's training totally changed my playing. After watching, understanding and practicing, I can play any song in any key on the mandolin without even thinking about it. I play mandolin in our church band every Sunday in front of 400-500 people. Our music director is always changing keys at the last minute. No problem with what I learned from Jerry. Best money you can spend if you are trying to play mandolin in different keys. Also it helps you understand what chords to expect in bluegrass songs. It's just common sense. Thanks Jerry for your instruction.

Is it pretty easy to comprehend?

    • @Banner279
      @Banner279 4 года назад

@@1980bwc Yes. I could play the fiddle before I picked up the mandolin so I had a little knowledge because both are tuned the same. I did not really do much with it until I got Jerry's CD's. It is an easy to understand and logical way to look at playing the mandolin. Learning how the Nashville number system works and how it applies to the mandolin fretboard opens up the whole instrument. You will think in terms of numbers and positions and not chords. Much, much easier.

Lol, my fingers hurt so much on my first
guitar, but the determination was there.
To rest my fingers I placed the guitar on
my knees Hawaiian steel guitar style
and started also teaching myself too
play the steel guitar, no teacher, still
one can go far without one.
It´s like with whistling, you don´t need
      a teacher for that.
But of course it helps to have a teacher.

I worked with one who was fine if he was just playing or even playing and singing at the same time, but if he tried to talk and play, look out. Ordinarily, no problem, but he ALWAYS wanted to do the break announcement. We would start the break tune at a really fast clip, and he'd start the "Thanks, we'll be right back after station identification" speech, and we would be at dirge speed by the end of it. And it wouldn't be much longer than what I just wrote. Time would just DROP. That was always a LONG gig.
