he text kept saying things like 0-4% or 0-22%. Which is arbitrary cause number was much closer to 0. 1.4 billion people got the virus and at most 500k died. thats literally a .03% death rate. If corona spread to 1.4 billion people that would mean at conservative estimate 14 million people dead.
I’m an X-ray tech here in NY and yes ...winter 2017 flu was bad. I caught it in Jan 2018 and it really kicked my ass. The fever, 103 , and body aching was unreal and lasted 2 solid weeks.. I don’t recall ever being sicker. As far as this thing goes ...it’s pretty fucking dire over here. Our ICU , CCU , telemetry floor, OR recovery room , Ambulatory surgery center and ER are all full of Covid19’s. People are crashing left and right , all I do is go from one “rapid response” code to another. I can’t imagine peak infection is still 2 weeks off. That would be my guess based on how the conversation went south with Crowder (who does not smoke)
Thomas Davis Sadly those aren't global stats. 45 million for an annual flu is about right for America. About 1 in 6 ppl worldwide get some strain of influenza each year. Avg. deaths are about half a million...the U.S. accounted for 48k of those..roughly a tenth, because were a large mobile country. Math puts the mortality rate at well below a half percent. That's why common influenza isn't taken all that serious like a corona that could have a 15x higher mortality rate.
No they're correct stats for America. In the UK 2014-15. In just England and Wales we had 44,000 deaths from a flu strain. With a peak of 15,000 deaths in 1 WEEK. That's well over 2,000 deaths a day. I'll give you the link for the Goverments stats for UK public health if you want.
Is this terrible people are dying? Yes it most certainly is. Do I want to catch it? Obviously no. Do you very likely destroy a global economic system with police state measures putting people on house arrest? Yes very likely and folks will probably suffer alot more from the aftermath.
98% of people manage to survive in *ideal* conditions, ideal meaning to be able to seek medical attention if your case becomes more severe than a cough. Also 2% of 300 million still means 6 million people dead if every American were to be infected, which is very possible considering how contagious covid-19 is. 1 person infects 2 people, those 2 go on to infect 2 more people each, and then those 4 newly infected people infect 2 people each. That's going from 1 infected individual to 15 in only three generations. That's how exponential growth works. The issue isn't old people dying, it's that so many people could become infected with severe cases that the Healthcare System can't handle it, leading to many many more deaths which could've been prevented if the health workers hadnt been overwhelmed by a flood of patients.
@@sorcerousquigley419 i understand the concerns, and if everyone would say what you did about not over flow the hospitals.. we be better off! the problem is they treating it like its the happening movie, where if you go outside and see other people you will die.... no... its a very very small number who die...! and they act like noo cure, etc,,, but agaiin 98 lives.... i want know why and how they do it ?
Rising numbers of cases are easier to count and document than the deaths or survivals. The hospitals in Toronto are 5 weeks behind with updates, because incubation periods, testing periods, and literally WAITING to see who survives and dies to classify/input the numbers into their computers. So confirmation is easy to count within 2 weeks. Everything after that is delayed by literally a month.

Weed is Joe's sacred cow... You can watch him argue for 2 hours with Steven Crowder and just sprinkle the word "covid-19" in there a bit if you want to get the gist of what they cut out.
CDC is estimating upwards of 120+ million people to get infected if a handle isnt gotten on its spread. It really comes down to doing what ever we have to, to not burden the healthcare system. 20% of that would be 24+ million and about 5% of that would die at a death toll of 1+ million. Add all of that on top of the everyday stuff that our health Care system has to deal with and your looking at a recipe for disaster.

@@BarryFromEastenders The difference is those (flu) numbers are with no restrictions in place (for the most part), the number of cases with Covid-19 are happening with serious restrictions on human movement and other precautions. @@occystrap8560 I see what you mean but we will never know by how much more so it's hard to compare. Those flu numbers are pretty crazy though. @Nolan Armstrong Well in Riverside it said 9 deaths, from the last post I saw and 17 cases. Well we had 8 die and we can't even hold all the patients in the ICU we designed for these patients, now we have to put them in rooms in another wing of the hospital, and people come in every day. We don't even report them all. It's just extremely bad right now from what I am seeing, and the people that are on bi level ventilation on roto beds are just not oxygenating well and don't seem to make it. Some places won't even give these patients breathing treatments because they don't want to help the virus micro particlize so it gets in the air.....also which is extremely sad, some hospitals are doing only 1 round of CPR to none if you code....only if you ARE COVID19 positive, with the 3 bar test....1 sputum and 2 blood test.
@Nolan Armstrong Yes Riverside CA. Working in the healthcare field at all right now is scary. We do have PPE gear, but sometimes not enough and like I said, some of the patients are not even in isolation rooms, or the proper kind. Its just a mess, something this country had not experienced in a long time.
One huge reason that the flu is usually not considered a big deal is that most flu fatalities are people who were greatly weakened by age or chronic conditions. Most often, we just say these people died of old age, or complications related to their underlying conditions.

Why did you cut out the part about the weed smoke affecting your body with corona virus
He conflated US stats year by year, then gave global stats when talking about 2020
Thomas Davis Sadly those aren't global stats.
Yes very likely and folks will probably suffer alot more from the aftermath.
why no one talk about the 98% who survive ...or what is really going on.... all we hear is rising numbers and being told to stay home
@@arlichar11 yeah i can see that I appreciate your understanding, its tough rn
Rising numbers of cases are easier to count and document than the deaths or survivals. The hospitals in Toronto are 5 weeks behind with updates, because incubation periods, testing periods, and literally WAITING to see who survives and dies to classify/input the numbers into their computers. So confirmation is easy to count within 2 weeks. Everything after that is delayed by literally a month.
