@@longwlenguyen4214 I wouldn't say some of it is really a reference. The game is meant to be (besides the jokes) a cold war in a cyber punk world. Thats why you see a lot of espionage.
@@WoodChuuck Well the creator did said they originally wanted the game as a serious game with joke reference but they love the joke so much they turn the whole game into comedy of spy parody alternate history of what if cyberpunk set in the 1950s.
1:59 is one of my favorite points in the whole video game music continuum. This chord is just one huge held out brass hit, really, with drum fill, but it's still so eargasmic and it serves its purpose well to accompany the title of the game.
@@humanity_moment. ehhhh not quite but it close since both game did take inspiration heavily 1950s and 1960s sci fi but Jazzpunk is more Austin Powers if he set in Blade Runner.
Some of it is inspired by 50's and 60's tropical lounge music. Here's a list of spotify songs that are relevant: community.spotify.com/t5/Chat/50s-60s-Tropical-Lounge-Music-Exotica/td-p/5008197
Jazzpunk is the kind of game you 100% complete, and then immediately think it was a weird dream you had
"I think it's time we blow this scene. Get everybody and the stuff together."
"Okay, 3, 2, 1, let's jam!"
Zeltzamer Maybe is a references. Since the Creator of Jazzpunk make a lot of reference to Blade runner, alien and cyberpunk genre.

Cowboy Bebop famously copied Jazzpunk 15 years before it was realeased.

This game reminds me very much of those old sci-fi/ action movies and their music. So nostalgic
This goes way too well with the pulp fiction intro music (Misirlou).

The introduction was amazing but completely unrelated :c
oh no, it is. This takes place during an alternate cold war, so it's mostly espionage and wire tapping.
Cheezpuffer oh ty
I know this is late but the opening also refers to its pop culture theme
The majority of people are robots in this future, and ones who aren’t are killed. It’s very much the opposite of Blade Runner, actually.
so is the lore of jazzpunk that your are one of the few humans left on earth?
Try playing Tank (Cowboy Bebop) over this.
BTW someone already did. Go check it out.
