I am using "cable creation" one every ports working fine but it's also has heating issue but with heat also it's working fine.. but what you bought at 2k from apple it's totally waste of money for only one usb port.. I used a local market type C to usb cable one at 100rs and working just fine and not even heating at all .. but yes I need multiple ports so i don't use that.

I am using belkin usb C hub with 7.2k rupees price. It gets super heated in 10 minute and I think it will damage my macbook. waste product.
