    • @ramimadanat7512
      @ramimadanat7512 3 года назад +15

      I think you have the wrong timestamp, but assuming you mean 3:25 after Alireza played Bxb6, if Magnus plays Rxc3, then Alireza goes bxc3, then you'd think Magnus could take the bishop on b6, but if he does that then Alireza can move either one of his rooks to b1 and it will win one of black's bishops, leaving Alireza still up an exchange but Magnus wouldn't have the bishop pair and both sides would have the same number of pawns, but Magnus wouldn't have a pawn on g3 to target

    • @thefighterinhades
      @thefighterinhades 3 года назад +1

      All the rated games, both offline and online, and even those on chess books dating from the 17th century to today's books. Chess engines even take liberty to learn from the games we casuals play online, but they are usually not counted in these rated databases( I don't know why?)

    • @armynyus9123
      @armynyus9123 3 года назад

      @@thefighterinhades Thanks. Any idea about the total number?
      Reason: wanted to do some math - found it actually unbelievable (when it's really all serious games in the DB), that in 2021 top GMs can deviate already on move 7 from anything played before, without it being instantly refuted.

    • @thefighterinhades
      @thefighterinhades 3 года назад

      @@armynyus9123 well I don't have an exact estimate, but the different possible combinations of moves might give us more than 10,000 different varieties by move 3. So by move 7, I guesstimate a total of more than 2 million unique games atleast. Since we focus on playing the best possible moves that might not blunder the game for us, so the actual number of played games are lesser than the actual possibilities. So 50k unique games never played before are roughly I would say by move 7.

    When magnus had the choice to take the Bishop or move the rook why didn’t he take the knight with his rook as an in between move? The Bishop would be protected if whites Bishop takes. Or he wins the Bishop and Knight for a rook if white takes rook with the pawn.
