P.S That area National City, Southeast Daygo and Market is a historically black area unfortunately a lot of the businesses have closed down. There's also a huge demographic shift to more Mexican.. BUT that's why you feel that old school southern black feel. So gladd you go to ALL the spots and not just the touristy areas

What a great day Alex and Cuzzo! Bowlegged BBQ looked off the charts yummy. I probably would have stayed all day. Lol.❤ Humberto 's been around forever. Used to be all over San Diego. There used to be a spot near the embarcadero called, The Sun Cafe. Outrageously good Chinese food. I don't think it's there any longer but if it is, you should give it a go. Happy eating Alex and Cuzzo!
Sun Cafe is now some way over priced taco shop, like all the other tourist traps in the Gaslamp Q. But I remember SC back in the day. Cheap simple breakfasts, and like you said, mountain platefuls of Chinese food for dinner time dining.

@@ForeverChanged7 those were indeed simpler times with good memories. I still live in the downtown area. All the once affordable, asian owned little restaurants are long gone. People say that's progress.

My only critique, reviewing multiple places in one day can affect your ratings . The way you feel at the first spot will drastically different from the way feel at the 3rd -4th place . Last place you will be much more tired , short handed , casual , full , kinda ready to wrap the day up . Perfect example was the video with your sister . Last few places y’all tried y’all were half a** eating and tasting the food . Weren’t paying attention , doubting the food before you even tried it . All this was due to food fatigue . Maybe try more options at fewer places instead of less options at more places . Overall bomb a** content as always . 🎉

You gotta go to Cuatro Milpas and get a chorizo bowl, maybe a couple of deep fried tacos. Place is in the barrio of San D. I'm from LA, but that's one of my favorite spots to hit up whenever I'm in daygo. It's like a soup kitchen inside, but it's got a bunch of old Mexican ladies making the food... just try it dude.

Bowlegged BBQ sides are delicious!!! the collard greens, the potato salad, spaghetti, and the baked beans YUM!!!!! and the beef brisket and the hot links and beef ribs look delicious!!! 😋😋😋😋 They give you a lot for sides too!!

My family and I went to bowleggeds the food was delicious and we actually met bowlegged. He was very kind and the atmosphere was so warm and friendly. I live in northern California and was there while on vacation.
