Horta's marina is the world's #4 most visited, and Europe's #2. You gotta go out in the countryside, and see for yourself why Faial is called the "blue" island (hydrangeas).
My cousins lived in that building where the “Banana Manor” you stayed at is now. I was born up the hill in the Hospital Velho by the clock tower, which was abandoned before they made it part of the Uni. I lived across the street on Rua Conçeisao until my parents returned to the US when I was 4. When my father returned to Faial shortly after I would spend alternating summers of my childhood there. We still own the house that is occupied by Arvore Restaurant on the bottom floor. (We had the view of Pico from the back windows) There is a lot more to see on Faial. Praia Almoxerife is just over the hill you were near, also should see Castelo Branco, Capelinhos, Praia do Norte and Caldeira like others mentioned BTW the water at Praia do Porto Pim is so shallow you can walk a few dozen meters out. I have good memories of cliff diving there.
Crazy, I was just watching this video for the first time in a long time :) Yes, I do miss the Azores a lot.. been almost a year, i'm glad my series helped a lot of people.
It is only 6am but that passion fruit drink looked really yummy! Wish I could jump in your travel bag Adrianna and go with you guys. I am enjoying travels with you two.
Of course the portuguese are very friendly and welcome all visitors. it is amazing to see and hear our Acores in the interest of so many people. But keep in mind that all the Acores are protected ecosystem and should be respected by all visitors. the Azorean people have kept these treasured islands in their most virgin state. The ocean of the Acores is probably the most sustainable in the world. the reason is that the Portuguese respect and are most diligent about preserving their natural environment. so we ask all visitors to do the same. Mind your footprint and don't pollute, and enjoy the greatest gift the Portuguese discovered in the 15th century, The Azorean islands, theses islands are actually the peaks of one of the highest mountain range that crosses the Atlantic ocean, it is why the views are all spectacular.
If you guys ever visit Faial Island again, I recommend you see a cliff in the village of Castelo Branco (SW coast). It is appropriately called "Morro de Castelo Branco". It is pretty impressive (about 500 ft. high), but for some unknown reason, it is for the most part ignored by most people. You won't be disappointed. And another thing about this cliff, they named a cheese after it, "O Morro". It is a very soft cheese, and it actually won an award from a prestigious culinary magazine.
@@victordasilva967 The queijo «Ilha Azul» 💙is my favorite. And the butter is good too. And I know someone in New Hampshire, who is from Ilha Do Pico,,,, that makes homemade «Queijo do Pico» 🧀
Loving your videos of the Islands. Horta, Faial one of my fave places from my time living in Pico. Many ferry boat trips to shop there and go to the beach as there are none in Pico. Last time there in 2017, did you go see the volcano eruption site?
Busy day. Glad you're still finding new stuff. :) I think the series is fantastic! It gives us an alternative we hadn't previously considered for an adventure someday. 1:35 keep us posted as to how your boat trip sales career progresses.
Hello, I have started seeing your Videos since the preview of the Açores trip. In Portuguese we dont say Azores it is Açores . 9 Amazing Islands in the midle of the Alantic Ocean. I am glad you and Adriana are having fun there and for your work showing your viewers the amazing islands and the people of the Açores. Dont forget to do the whale watching boat trip.
Thank you. Yes, I am aware of the Portuguese spelling and have used it on a few translated titles ! It's so beautiful, and i'm happy to share it with my audience. I appreciate you watching.
I know you won't be going to Corvo Island (smallest), but just thought I'd give you a little info on it. It only has 1 small town, and it is known to be a stopping point for some rare birds around Sept./Oct. Believe it or not, ornithologists from around the world go there for that reason, and photograph the rare birds that visit Corvo. The crater in the interior, is also worth seeing. When you get to Flores, you will get a great view of Corvo. They do have a small airport (and a very small landing strip!).
Sorry that you were there just the one night. There is another beach, even longer, around the cape from Horta to the east. And so you missed visting Capelinhos, the wasteland created by the eruption of 1957. When you get to Flores, please look up the drone videographer behind this channel: Aerografica. He is on RUclips and his short videos about Flores are awesome! Esp, Recortes, Cascatas, Tempestade, Carpe Diem
Oh guys, why don’t you get a tour on Fayal island? You miss a lot! You missed the Caldeira volcano, breading cut trails, the mos recent volcano of the entire Azores with only 50 years old (like to be on a different planet), you miss the varadouro natural pools, amazing natural parks, you didn’t met our seamen (sea wolf) Norberto diver (have a wale watch company) he also make dives with sharks and dolphins,.. but, by the way, you are doing an awesome job!
I live there! 💕 You should of stayed longer, visit Caldeira, the Capelinhos vulcano and so many other incredible stuff! I hope you like Flores, it’s a very beautiful island full of nature, and if you see an old lady that lives on front of the Santa Cruz church that’s my grandma 😄
Hi. I dont know this channel but i like to watch the videos about the azores. I live in azores. For two weeks maybe i'd pick you on the terceira at least on the street. I came to live on the island. And you didn t catch the bullfights. It would be lovely to see you running away from the bull lol Are you going to visit Santa Maria island? And adriana looks like good girl. I like her :) kisses for two of you
Here Be Barr ohhh. Santa Maria is also a beautiful island. Yesterday started Santa Maria Blues festival in anjos. Stay for next time. Visits the islands that are missing. When you go to Santa Maria i can help you/show you what the island has.
Amazing video! Just don't wear such long white socks. It gives you away completely as a tourist and isn't very appreciated in Portugal. I don't care about that but some people do. It's not very aesthetically appealing.
constant movements of the camera makes it really difficult to watch without getting nauseated and also the picture gets blurry, you clearly need some filming lessons

Yes Peter is there for many years 3 generations and still going strong
Horta's marina is the world's #4 most visited, and Europe's #2. You gotta go out in the countryside, and see for yourself why Faial is called the "blue" island (hydrangeas).

You guys are doing a fantastic job in the Azores. Very well done.

I used to deliver bread when I was a kid to monte da Guia and come out walking on the other side na Praia de Porto pinho.
What an awesome place!! Nothing better than picking bananas off the tree for a snack.
