    I'm a point A to point B driver. This is my third Trax. I live in a northern climate and my MPG on all three has average 25.8, mostly in town with a little hwy. Darty' little car easy to maneuver and squeeze around things. Nice safety ratings too.

    I like the trax, I don’t care for the plastic around the wheel wells on the trailblazer. That’s a trend I don’t like, I like clean paint not plastic. I drive a 2019 equinox and I’m considering a 2022 trax for a lower lease payment.

      NO NO NO STOP! As another mechanic buddy I know said, avoid this car like coronavirus. You can get a VW Jetta with better interior quality + engine reliability with their Gen 3 2.0T engine and more power + standard bixenon headlights, or a Toyota Corolla (with all the previous I said with VW but the reliability is off the charts). Don't think about getting this GM trash with a 1.4L engine with unreliability frills, cheap GM plastic interior, reflector housing halogen headlights (how are xenons not standard now?) just plain ugly looks and dimensions.
      It amazes me with some of the repair jobs as well. On GMs cars, the water pumps(which are known to prematurely fail) are located on the side of the engine like a BMW! You're looking at about $900 just for a water pump replacement on a GM engine. I'd HIGHLY recommend you stop. Either buy a CPO Toyota or VW, or if you REALLY want the experience of buying a brand new car, VW or Toyota. About the same price but so much better than this hunk of GM trash (or really any other GM car except their performance engines).

      @@markjou9799 I sometimes take off under boost like 1500-2000rpm gotta break them tires loose lol. But even under normal every day driving it is very smooth even the auto start stop is almost unnoticeable in most situations. Try some good fuel cleaner, I use gumout all in one, and run some premium 93 shell gas and see if their is a change.

    Yeah, the Trailblazer would be a more attractive choice due to the newer platform. I think the Trailblazer is at its internship while they phase out the tools and re-organize the assembly lines for the Trailblazer. RIP Chevrolet Trax. I think Chevrolet can really make it in the sub compact cross-over market if they can set the price right.

    I bought a ecosport instead because it has a 2000lb tow capacity. Most official chevy sites like dealers state that the trax is not recommended to tow with. This was a consideration because although we have trucks as well sometimes its nice to have a small vehicle/trailer to tow an atv or two instead of bringing the f250/20ft trailer. That being said I also own a chevy spark and after putting 70k on it the vehicle has been dead reliable. The trax shares many of the design and parts as the spark and most seem to think its reliable too. Therefore later this year my wife's upgrade will probably be a Trax. I think it beats the trailblazer because of the deep rebates for previous year models and longer track record.

      @spyder000069 3 года назад +1

      Just an update. I did my first tow with my ecosport and 12ft trailer with two full size 4x4 quads on it. Weight would have been right at 2000lbs. The vehicle was nice and stable. I did have to go into manual shift mode to keep it from going into 6th gear but it pulled at speed just fine through the hills here. I wouldn't want to go through mountains with it but I was pretty impress overall.

    I've been looking into getting one, the Trax LT awd is 2k cheaper with some options VS the trailblazer LT FWD without those options, and where I live in Canada it's a very poor decision to go with the FWD when AWD is available.

    You remind me that before Covid and the loss of my mom I was looking into the new Trailblazer. It appeared to be cheaper than the more expensive ones when I looked at it. However, when I went to the dealership a family friend suggested the Trax for the reasons you mentioned and it appeared much cheaper, but wasn't in a position to do any research and forgot about it . My 2006 Trailblazer wouldn't pass inspection. I've had it for less than a week and love it for the kind of driving I do. Plus, I can get in and out of places a lot better than I did with my Trailblazer. I miss the room inside though, but am getting used to it. I have two questions. Does the rear window actually open and how do you do that? LOL. Also, Does the LT model have a "secret compartment" like others do? I think it's a great idea for when you might want to put valuables like a wallet in there for trips to the beach or something. Great review! Thanks.

      @KBCarsChevyChannel  3 года назад +1

      @49Macman thank you for the feedback and my condolences to you and your family. The Trax is still super popular and even though the MSRP is essentially the same as the new Trailblazer, the rebates are VERY different making the Trax a VERY good deal! Unfortunately, no, the back window doesn't open on it's own. The only secret compartment I can think of is the storage bin underneath the front passenger seat.

      @@KBCarsChevyChannel Thank You for your quick reply ind words of condolences and answering my questions. I do love the Trax LT that I have, but I'm really not sure if I got a good deal by what happened at the dealership. My 2006 Trailblazer didn't pass inspection. Inspection needed $2,500 to pass and this was before they look at all the codes. Their was a man that I had developed trust in who never even told me what he did until it came up later...even more of a reason to trust him. However, I dealt with a different person, which leads me to believe that he got a cut of the money by bringing people there. I wasn't able to do a lot of research as my computer was down in addition to the inspection and mom passing so I might have gotten a good deal, but my spidey sense I didn't because I needed a vehicle a.s.a.p. Well, you can't go back! Eventually I will just look at what I am driving with and enjoying the positives. Thanks again! I wish the best for you and your sales.

  • @amandataebby
    @amandataebby 3 года назад +2

    With all due respect, your review wasn't totally honest and I have some "buyer beware"... I have a 2015 Trax -- the engine is too small, turbo is too sensitive/jumpy (it jumps/accelerates without touching the pedal), the trunk space is tiny so forget about fitting all your family's groceries in, and the suspension is so tight that it SLAMS into every bump. Handling is great, but that's because of the suspension. You can say it has great cargo space, but you did not mention that it requires you to fold down 3 seats so you can't really have passengers then. The seats do not fold flat - when you pull that tab and pull out the bottom half of the seat, the seat sticks up and does not allow you to fold the top half flat. Not trying to be rude, but just thought potential buyers should be aware of these things. I urge every buyer to look in-depth for themselves at what I mentioned. But there's better vehicles at similar price range. I hope the Trax ends because I'll throw a party 😅
