  • There is only one engine and transmission choice available for the 2020 Trax, but Chevrolet has chosen the drivetrain wisely. The Trax utilizes an extremely fuel-efficient 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. Despite its size, this engine makes 138 horsepower going through a 6-speed automatic transmission 0-60 is 9.4 seconds. With an EPA rating of 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The engine needs to be revised to keep up with its competitors.
The Premier trim comes with front fog lamps, even more exterior chrome, including chrome door handles, a 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, leatherette seating surfaces, a leather wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Bose premium sound system and rear park assist.

I have a 2020 Chevy Trax awesome fuel mileage not good with a car seat but that's fine.... I dive highway 30 miles to work and from everyday.... Amazing all around except DO NOT BUY if where you live reaches below 0 degrees.... I've had to replace the turbo boost sensor every winter if not twice in the winter do to it being to cold.... Car runs amazing in snow and ice but the sensor is getting annoying and shuts of boost to motor so it's slows down massively on high way. Not worth buying if your area gets any cold at all... Soon as I pay off the 7ish K I owe I'm trading it in for an anything else.2020 Chevy Trax AWD bare bones LS great car great mileage awesome in summer amazing handling in snow I've and horrible in below freezing weather.

The only thing I don't like about the Trax is can't get FWD only in all trim levels. Unless you order it that way. Got a 2016 FWD and steel wheels.
Sometimes the wife lets me drive it. The 45,000 miles service was a bit of a surprise. Lots of fluid changing and other goings out and back in. In the $600 range.
The same drive today as it was in 2016
    I don't mind driving the 2004 T-blazer.

@@jeremymetcalf6131 I had to put the seats down to put a 43 inch tv in the box in it. You can put 4 grocery bags on the the light weight drop down shelf/cover in the back and about ten bags of groceries, a folding lawn chair, a gym bag and and two fold up canvas tables under it with all the seats up.
I makes the payments, she drives it. I get it to drive it when it needs gas or scheduled service. It is basically a purse and grocery hauler.
This wont fit in it, but it fits inside a 2004 Envoy and it weighs 330 lbs. I don't think it would be a good idea to load 8 bags of cement in it. They would fit fit but not sure if the seats would work right after that. ruclips.net/video/m_2sDidsKNc/видео.html.

I wouldn’t want a manual. I don’t think it would suit the vehicle. It’s okay in auto. It’s a weird experience driving a type of vehicle like this.

@@exionem I haven’t seen a manual either but GM parts catalog does show one. I bet it’s over seas only. Trax does not have CVT trans. Has 6t40.

      Unless 2021 has CVT now.

  • @jeremymetcalf6131

It shifts weird. Sometimes at low throttle it seems to upshift a bit hard and especially on downshifts. Braking it becomes more pronounced.
Rides fine. Trunk is tight. As is the rear seat. Will not sit comfy even with three 150 lb. adults. Three kids up to about 12 will fit fine. Not a true fold flat rear seat, but the added folding front passenger is a great bonus.
Also sucks that it comes standard with rear drum brakes. It’s 2020 almost all cars come standard with 4 wheel discs now.
Infotainment system is pretty good. Except when it apple car play decides to freeze. Almost impossible to reset it without shutting the car off for a couple minutes.
It’s my mother in laws car so I didn’t spend any money on it. Bottom line, would I buy it? No. If it was my choice I’d get a used 4Runner.

As you put miles on it the trans will adapt itself to how you drive. This is normal.

@@brandonwalters9437 I hope so almost had 2500 miles and downshifts aren’t fun. Sometimes when I need to brake hard it makes the car jerk like I’m downshifting manually. Never had a cars transmission behave so aggressively. Then again they’ve all been four speeds with longer gears.

@@jeremymetcalf6131 not saying you don’t have a problem you may but this is a common complaint. 6t40 is a adaptive transmission. I’m currently a transmission tech at a GM dealership for past 8 years and been in the game for 20.

@@RANDsreviews I just bought a 2020 Trax to replace my 2015 that was totalled. I was stopped at a red light and hit from behind by a dude that fell asleep behind the wheel and hit me at about 50mph. I walked away. Yes, I have bumps, bruises, whiplash, concussion, etc. but I walked away without life threatening injuries. I don't understand the low reviews; I love this car. Great gas mileage, fun to drive, and most importantly, I'm convinced this car saved me from serious injuries. In fact, my doctor told me if I was in a "car" I would've had much more serious injuries as I was hit by a pick-up. I'm really stoked that the Trax hasn't changed much in the past few years - everything I loved about my car is still there plus extra tech features. I looked into upgrading into a Buick Encore, but it's basically the same vehicle minus cosmetics and insulation - not worth the extra dollars. For less than a base Encore I got a fully loaded Trax. The great gas mileage and highly rated safety features are a plus.

yes it bigger than a BMW i3 but thats where the comparison ends. The i3 is a much more refined vehicle in every aspect, unfortunately the i3 is more than twice the price brand new at $60k.
