  • The first video in the series! In a nutshell, I get a vehicle, drive it for a bit and then give you my thoughts on it. The 2020 Chevrolet Trax is the star of this episode.
A huge shout out to my boy, Minjeo / @minjeo (better known for his train gameplay videos) for being the cameraman and editor of this project.

Your review is too bias. You need to be open minded. People can see that if you do not like it you will pick it apart. I own one of these and it is a fantastic car and great on the highways. It does not get blown all over the road as it is very arrow dynamic and smaller then some cars that do catch the wind and get shook up real bad. Great on fuel also as mine now is getting milage in the 40's for fuel use per mile on a trip. It is in the high 30's around town. GPS is now not included in many cars even the larger vehicles. It is easy to just use your phone with android auto or apple car play and you never have to update maps any longer. This is a great little car and the money for it is also a good deal.

Based on my driving experience with this vehicle, I found the handling to be a little "unsure" on certain sections of the very windy highway I drove (I have the same experience in my own Kia Sportage, both vehicles share a higher-than-car ground clearance and upright side body profiles). Your experience was and is different than mine. As I said in another comment, I wanted to like this vehicle, I really did and I pointed out what I found to be good and bad about it, in my opinion.
I don't dispute the fuel mileage nor the value it does bring to their owners. However, I stand by my comment of not being pleased about the lack of built-in navigation. It may come as a surprise to some folks, but not everyone has a smartphone, or is willing (even capable) to take those few moments to connect it to their vehicle and go through all the steps afterwards.
If you enjoy your Chevrolet Trax, I hope you get many, many, problem free miles out of it and have nothing but good times with it.

Looks pretty cool honestly I'm looking at getting a 2020 black one to match my black 2020 Silverado looks good for a baby seat and stroller.

You don’t need to spend money on navigation because it has android auto and Apple CarPlay standard. AWD is not much more so try to include this feature as it will go inroads for resale value.

When I see a vehicle that's advertised to be a top of the line model, I expect all the "bells and whistles" to be included, especially navigation, in this era. I agree that AWD will help with resale value down the road over a similar FWD model, but I don't believe the difference will really be that significant

The premier really gives you a lot of luxury for the relative price

I totally agree, but my biggest gripe was the lack of built in navigation and some further refinements overall.

    They are right your bias

    • @behindthewheelexperience
      @behindthewheelexperience  3 года назад +1

If bias means that I expressed my disappointment over dashed expectations for a vehicle to fall far short of options that one would equate with a top of the line model, then so be it.
However, there was more to the conversation with the others than just that.
If you own a Chevy Trax, or a friend/family member does and it's loved, that's all that matters, right?

Just say you don't like it. My 19 year old son just bought one brand new. 5 miles on it. He bought it for two reasons. It is new, and a great credit builder. Mommy and daddy had nothing to do with his purchase. And I literally mean nothing. His BB&T-Suntrust Visa, I have no doubt helped. BTW, his LS version has AWD. I am not sure how that worked out, but it is true.

Don't get me wrong here, as a first vehicle, the Chevy Trax can be a good investment into a much bigger world. But, I was rather disappointed by the lack of features this "top of the line" model such of had ( in my opinion), like navigation, AWD that can be turned off, the seat materials and a few other items.
I wanted to like it, but I just couldn't. Having said that, if your son is enjoying his, that's all that matters.

@@behindthewheelexperience I totally get your point. For the price tag, it could certainly be better. I told my son, pay for it 2 years, then dump it.

@@behindthewheelexperience He says he doesn't care about speed. First 19 year old in history. I think he will end up with a full size SUV. He loves my old Suburban. But, hates my 302 hp Impala.

@@LoneWolf-dv7ul I have a smaller SUV, might post a video of it on here, someday. As for not liking speed, I am finding a surprising number of younger folks just aren't into it, preferring more to "slow cruise" around town and sticking close to the limit on the highway too.
Whatever he winds up with, I hope he's happy with it and doesn't cost a lot to buy and own, over the long term
