This song was NOT written by David Ruffin! It was written by Jan Crutchfield and first recorded in 1969 by Jack Green. I know it is a great song and see why David Ruffin WOULD STEAL THE CREDIT FOR WRITING IT!
William LeMay yes but according to genna sapia ruffin and david himself he wrote it in 1958. he didnt steal it
William LeMay and since he was only 17 when he wrote it, he never got official writing credit for it and was later given to jan crutchfield
