- On June 3rd, 2020, Meghan Markle gave a remote surprise graduation speech to her old high school, Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles. “What is happening in our country and in our state and in our hometown of L.A., has been absolutely devastating,” Markle said. She cited victims of police violence, including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Philando Castile, and she recalled the Rodney King riots she witnessed as a teen in Los Angeles. #InsideEdition
I'm not American, but aren't graduation speeches meant to be uplifting and not a summary of current world events? Don't you want these young adults to feel inspired that they can go forth unto the world and make a difference even if it is in a small way, that sort of thing?

Apparently Meghan Markle wasn't in L.A. during the riots according to her sister. Samantha called their Dad after she saw this video. He said that he took Meghan to Palm Springs while the riots were going on. Take Samantha with a grain of salt but she did tell the world how Meghan really is. I saw this tidbit on the Harry Markle blog which is excellent btw. I want to put it out there so you all know. I am not a 'hater' nor a 'racist' because I don't like MM. I am personally disappointed with her and her behavior during all of this. Only if she listened to Michelle Obama...

Just curious. Which story of her experiences with the 1992 LA Riots is true. The first recollection a few years ago. When she stated that they were released early from school and on the drive home she stated to her Mom that it was snowing. Her Mom said "Flower, that is not snow, get in the house " Or is the one she recounted in this speech of trees and buildings on fire, seeing people rioting and looting and ash covering the lawns. No mention of police or the unsafe drive home? Just wondering if anyone is doing their fact checking.
