Personally, I never heard of dental braces until I came to America back in my thirties (I’ll turn 67 next month), where it seems every kid has to suffer through them. I grew up in a European country, lived in several more of them and traveled extensively throughout much of the European continent. I was very surprised that braces have been around for centuries. Which made me wonder why so few kids in Europe needed them that I did not even know of their existence but so many American kids got them. And it finally dawned on me that it is because health and dental care is a big for-profit business in America. So, clearly US dentists and orthodontists tell parents their kids need braces for the same reason US pediatricians used to tell parents their boys needed to be genitally mutilated, that is, to get more money.
RustyTube Partly, but it's nice to have the teeth straightened before adulthood too, so that they stay relatively in proper position. Also, I think we have impossibly high standards.
Yea, I have really crooked teeth, but i would never to the atrosious things that people i know do to "FIX" they teeth when its obvious its bone deformation thats the problem, like having 4 heathty teeth removed - that should be punishable because its basically mutilation.
+Wetpig If by "removing four healthy teeth" you are referring to people having their wisdom teeth removed, there actually IS a good reason for that. Wisdom teeth are located in the very back of the mouth, and while not everyone is born with them, those that are tend to develop intense jaw pain around their mid-teens, when the wisdom teeth start to come in. The reason they don't come in during childhood, and why they hurt, is because they're evolutionary leftovers from our ancestors who had much larger jaws and smaller skulls. With the way our jaws are shaped now, emerging wisdom teeth are essentially trying to jam themselves into an already-full space, and can even put pressure on the bone, so leaving them in there can lead to severe dental problems and make it hard to eat. So, even though they might be "four perfectly healthy teeth", the trouble they cause just being there is far worse than the "mutilation" of pulling them out.
I wasnt refering to them.I was talking about premolar and BICUSPID extraction, the ladder of which i have no idea why anyone would do. The problem with wisdom teeth is that there just isnt enough space in the jaw, you should be widening the jaw during childhood, heck you could do it even as an adult to combat this, but if you have problems with wisdom teeth during adulthood you would have removed them already. About the bicuspid thing, they dont look aesthetic and unless you have a problem with them there is absolutely no reason to remove them. And if you are having Severe tooth pain that is chronic, well yea its a good idea to check whats going on and remove it if necessary.
AntiMessiah no it's because you guys have good dentist and orthodontists and can afford it. My mom is from Vietnam and her teeth is crooked AF. She said the dentists here are so much better
The real answer is that we are all technically British, so our teeth have to be crooked. (I'm a Brit and I know this is a stereotype, I'm sorry my tea drinking brethren)
Also that Brits are cool enough that they're not all told that they NEED braces like in America. Even if you have one crooked tooth here, you'll most likely end up with braces for a few months.
Depends on what state u live in, the government can pay for ur crooked teeth instead of u because I live in the state of Arkansas, my government payed mine but idk if I will get braces rn cuz I have 2 cavities
Hi there, SciShow! I would love for people to learn about the terrifying and sudden nature of cerebral aneurysms! I had one rupture at 19 and I think it would make for an interesting video topic!
I only had crooked canines... BUT IT WAS AWESOME! They were pointing at my lower lip a little bit and it looked like I had fangs. Too bad they moved into place. Ironically they also were the sharpest out of all my teeth. I miss them so much...
You are meant to have spaces between your back teeth, thats how it should be, but spaces on the front teeth could cause problems chewing if they are really big.
Wetpig no... you are not supposed to have gaps in your molars wtf... gaps in the front are fine as they are for tearing, but your molars are for grinding and they need to fit together or there will be problems.
Ictus You are wrong, having gaps in your front teeth mean you will be exerting more force on each tooth because they are not connected, while having them on the back means you basically don't need cleaning and if the teeth are positioned correctly you will have no problem eating.Look at ancient human skulls(like 10000 years ago), and you will see intermolar width in the 40-50mm range, while the modern norm is 30 ish mm.They had small gaps in their back teeth and they lived normal lives.Gaps themselves don't cause harm, but they are frequently accompanied by bite problems if there are any gaps at all. This is due to are our modern life style, 150 years ago only about 5% of all people had crooked teeth.
Well, pretty close to straight, and the wisdom teeth in my upper jaw poked out only slightly sideways. I had them removed though, because they were annoying to clean.
I saw a study that suggested that shorter jaws could be partially influenced by upright walking meaning fist fights and shorter jaws are less prone to breaking from punches.
I wonder about what might be the reason for the opposite problem. I used to have an over bite, and the teeth in my upper jaw were quite spaced apart. I had headgear and retainers to fix the overbite, and braces to bring my teeth closer together. My dad was born with the same thing too. I suppose overbites and underbites are a thing that we can observe in other species. I've seen dogs with underbites and such. But I wonder if it's also caused by something evolutionary about humans or if it's just something that happens across (at least mammalian) species.
My teeth are perfect, some people don't believe me when I say I never had braces. They started to hurt and shift when my wisdom teeth started coming out but I had them all removed and my teeth settled back in a straight position. I'm really lucky.
Or how about we stop worrying so damn much about our crooked teeth and only use braces when there is a clear and present medical reason to do so. A little overcrowding isn't going to kill you, if you brush properly and get regular check-ups, and a slightly misaligned bite may only cause superficial damage to your teeth, if at all. FFS we often cause more pain and suffering to ourselves trying to fix non-issues for the sake of vanity; just look at the teeth whitening industry. Zero medical benefits, and risk of increased sensitivity or root damage to healthy teeth, all for the sake of bleaching our dentin, which is supposed to be slightly yellow, that's its natural color. It's time we all pulled our heads out of the collective asshole of cosmetic dentistry advertisers constantly negging us and pick the shit out of our probably healthy, slightly crooked, teeth.
Crooked teeth can increase the risk of cavities and such because it’s hard brushing the nooks and crannies. Crooked teeth can also cause speech problems sometimes. Crooked teeth can also cause jaw issues.
I had to get braces because when i bit down my bottom teeth scraped up the back of my top teeth and if i didn’t get braces and fix my bite it would have eventually scraped my teeth beyond repair. Also my teeth never fully formed i have very short teeth and the developmental ridges never went away as well as my canines protruded so far my gums were pressed white. And a tooth on the bottom was completely sideways and sharp and would cut my tongue a lot. Fun fact the metal used for the wire in braces was made by nasa and when at body temp it naturally wants to go back to its original shape. So you may not have medical problems now from your teeth but you probably will in the future. It takes time i don’t see the harm in getting braces even if you don’t actually need them. My dad had an extra front tooth that he had pulled. My sisters 2 center bottom teeth never formed adult teeth so baby teeth sat there and rotted and caused her pain until she was 20 and got braces to close the gap so she could bite down on food
I was born with straight teeth. I heard somewhere a cause could be due to breathing through mouth vs nose. In saying that, I’ve picked my nose my whole life to the point where I consider myself a pro as I am removing the dry mucus “crust”, and being careful not to create scabs or accidently breaking skin causing nose bleeds. I believe that nose picking could be a factor to straight teeth and was wondering if any of natural straight teeth people do the same? I make sure I wash my hands before and after picking, I even twist my fingers in a left to right motion to get all the snot film out just like when you rub your hands together to create friction to remove dead skin. Pretty grose, I know and for those worried about big nostrils, yeah you could say I have larger nostrils than most people but it still looks normal
Guys, you are great and I learn a lot with you, but you called a hyrax a rodent; hyraxes are more closely related to elephants than they are to rodents. I guess you mean "rodent-like". It could be a small problem, but this is a science channel, so try to not make those mistakes again, please.
Jaws form teeth size are just regulated by different genes, so sometimes we inherit broad jaw and narrow teeth, or broad teeth and narrow jaws and need bracers in both cases. Sadly bracers cost a crapp tonn of money and need itself comes from being born this way.
Good idea if you bake your own. Whole grain products in supermarkets tend to have lots of added sugar to counter the bitterness. Those corporate bastards will fuck you one way or another.
Michael Ferger Is it just whole grain products? Wheat, namely? You could actually have Celiacs disease. Like, do you feel sick after eating oatmeal or brown rice? Those grains are naturally gluten free. Just trying to narrow things down
So you have room to grow wisdom teeth. At least that's the case for me and a couple of my friends. My family was poor as shit and couldn't afford a full braces treatment for me, so I only had braces for 7 months. It fixed a lot of my teeth, but I still have the gap between my two front teeth. My friend had his teeth completely shut. 10 years later after our wisdom teeth grow, my gap is almost gone, and his teeth are crooked and lap over each other now. This isn't scientific, but I just find it funny how things turned out.
7 лет назад+7
@thoryan94 I have a similar anecdote. I used to be able to fit a toothpick between my upper front teeth, but now there isn't a slightest gap. I never had any bracers.
I'm glad this isn't a problem I've ever had to deal with. my mouth was large enough to support my wisdom teeth and my teeth are straight enough that I don't have to worry about braces.
Who do you think invented agriculture? And fire? And clothing? Do you think a bunch of cold, naked, starving people made it out of Africa and into Europe? Africa was pretty awesome until the colonizers came.
SciShow!!! i have these questions pop up in my head and with in a week you guys make videos on it!!! this being an example!! on of manyy. you guys are reading my mind
Though British people care about daily dental hygiene as much as everyone else, they don't spend money trying to straighten their teeth, unlike Americans.
One of my kids was born with only two wisdom teeth instead of four, and the other kid was born with no wisdom teeth at all. I tell them they are advanced humans... the next step in our evolution. :)
These people with wider jaws have more attractive faces because the chewing gave them a more developed face. They have full cheeks and a broad, prominent jawline
Then why are small jaws in women considered Feminine and attractive? Some American students who went over to my country noted about how the women there have smaller, overshot jaws here, and they found it "hot".
I didn't say just cause you don't have a broad you can't be attractive. Those women probably have good formation of their cheeks, if you really want the full explanation go google claiming power and attractiveness.
u guys should do one on cancer. i mean, i understand basically what cancer is but maybe explain how not all cancer is equal and why some is more fixable than others
I looove mac'n'cheese too. But I have a noob question. When we come across these buried fossils, do we assume that their size is indicative of the actual size of the organism when it was alive or do we factor in such processes as erosion and pressure-related compression that would make the bones and teeth smaller, by a certain factor, over time?
I could be considered a mini trial on this topic. I grew nearly a decade in a logging camp on an island in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. My main diet was fish and deer meat and I believe it is the reason why my teeth are so sharp. My canines were noticeably longer (though ground down a bit since I used them to cut wires) and my molars are formed like valleys with chiseled knife edges instead of grinding surfaces. They are so sharp in fact I usually have one or more slices in my tongue (the sides of which is not quite textured) or cheeks.
I think it's also just plain genetics too. As a kid growing up, I never needed braces and neither did my brother. My mom always claimed the people on her side of the family have "teeth like Denzel." lol My dad's side tend to have that gap between the front two, but thankfully my brother and I don't have that. My teeth are next to perfect besides a canine that grew in kinda facing the wrong way, and my slight buck front teeth. :B I did recently have my bottom wisdoms removed, though only because the dentist insisted to, not that they hurt at all yet. My brother had his removed because they were causing him severe pain, but my mom still has them and is just fine so I can't help but wonder if I wasted my money...
Strawberries777 Genetics could play a role but it’s a very slim chance. Genetics can’t explain the sudden skyrocketing rates of people needing braces now when hundreds of years ago humans had straight teeth.
What causes reed breath? (When you're playing a woodwind instrument that isn't the flute and all of a sudden your breath stinks really bad and the reed stinks really bad.)
Another possible reason proposed by Weston Price was the fact that these hunter-gatherer cultures' diet was high enough in calcium, phosphorus, and fat-soluble vitamins that their jaws could develop properly. After agriculture we didn't get enough of these nutrients to form the jaw correctly. The "hardness" factor could just as easily be the case too. I'd like to see a comparison study. I have a feeling it's a combination of both.
I have Ehlers-Danlos, which gave me a narrow high arched palate and small lower jaw. Ehlers-Danlos is genetic. My teeth were so crowded that I had both upper and lower jaws widened when I was 10-13. It hurt. Then I wore braces and headgear for four more years. Not a pretty look in high school. Now my teeth look straight but because of very deep molar surfaces most of them are broken and root canals now. Deep teeth groves are from Ehlers-Danlos too. My teeth were filled with amalgam after they got cavities since there was no sealants back then. That is why they are broken now. Yay teeth.
When going to the dentist I constantly heard about how perfectly straight all of my teeth were. I also happened to have all of my wisdom teeth come in when I was in high school and I didn't realize until I was about 30 that they were wisdom teeth. I always just thought they were just molars since I never counted my teeth (I guess that's a thing...). So in short, I had perfectly formed wisdom teeth and enough room in my jaw to accommodate them without crowding my other teeth. I wonder what this says about my lineage. I am roughly half Native American and half Irish. It's more like 40/45 with 5% other stuff, mostly German. I don't have shovel or winged incisors, but I do have tri rooted molars and I believe that the extra jaw room for wisdom teeth is another Native American trait. It's also not like I spent my childhood eating nuts and rocks and stuff, so the idea of me developing this way because of what I ate while growing up isn't really looking like it holds much water, at least in my case. Unfortunately, both of my upper wisdom teeth had to be pulled because their blood supply dried up and the roots died and the teeth started decaying from the inside out. My bottom ones are still just fine, though.
This isn't always the case for some people. We also have to mention that skull shape is also important in this matter, people with flat skulls tend to have more space for their jaw than people with rounded skulls [by flat and round, I mean the way it looks from behind]. In some cases, the teeth might not even crook at all despite the diet of the person.
You should also note that everyone's jaw is different. The way our teeth grow in is pretty random sometimes. Sometimes they don't grow straight. They grow sideways.
1:54 sorry to be a fuss pot but hyraxes aren't rodents, they're in their own clade with elephants and sea cows. You could do a whole video in them actually, they're pretty cool
My wisdom teeth were all removed. Now I only have ignorant teeth.

So, clearly US dentists and orthodontists tell parents their kids need braces for the same reason US pediatricians used to tell parents their boys needed to be genitally mutilated, that is, to get more money.

Partly, but it's nice to have the teeth straightened before adulthood too, so that they stay relatively in proper position. Also, I think we have impossibly high standards.
More of a culture thing. Straight teeth just look better to most Americans. Just the way we've been raised for the most part.
it's so unfair, my friend has "perfectly" straight teeth.
Lets be honest, most of us in the west had to wear braces for vanity and not medical reasons.
Were you taking about me?
AntiMessiah no it's because you guys have good dentist and orthodontists and can afford it. My mom is from Vietnam and her teeth is crooked AF. She said the dentists here are so much better
I hate my crooked teeth... I can't even smile because I'm so self conscious about it
The real answer is that we are all technically British, so our teeth have to be crooked. (I'm a Brit and I know this is a stereotype, I'm sorry my tea drinking brethren)
Josh Bell
It's like me being an American who likes making fun of Americans being Loud and not particularly perceptive
I don't think being loud is genetic though
+spindash64 What about being fat thats something to laugh at
I have perfectly straight teeth and never had braces... I'm middle eastern
Also that Brits are cool enough that they're not all told that they NEED braces like in America. Even if you have one crooked tooth here, you'll most likely end up with braces for a few months.
I got an ad about teeth straightening before this. RUclips is officially watching everything I watch.
I will accept my crooked teeth instead of throwing thousands of dollars for differently aligned teeth
Depends on what state u live in, the government can pay for ur crooked teeth instead of u because I live in the state of Arkansas, my government payed mine but idk if I will get braces rn cuz I have 2 cavities
me too. I hear your pain
Hard food isn't the solution. For one thing, we live longer than ancient people and need to retain as much of our dentition as possible.
Leafy's been eating water all his life apparently.
Eating water? You mean drinking water.
Montin Yek if only this video came out months ago. Lol
it sucks cuz I have crooked teeth but can't afford braces so I'll have to suffer forever
Jules Xxx SAME I'm sad
This is interesting. I literally got like five teeth pulled as a kid and braces twice from having crooked, overcrowded teeth. 😣
Seeing the notification of this video reminded me to put in my retainer... thanks, hank
Hi there, SciShow! I would love for people to learn about the terrifying and sudden nature of cerebral aneurysms! I had one rupture at 19 and I think it would make for an interesting video topic!
no one cares about your particular issue
pay the patreon or go away
phantasm1234 you should email them, they probably would never see this comment
phantasm1234 fascinating! I would love to hear more about this. You are better off emailing them its a bit quicker than the LetoJohnny route.
phantasm1234 good one lad!
It's fun that you lived. I hope you have a great life.
I only had crooked canines... BUT IT WAS AWESOME! They were pointing at my lower lip a little bit and it looked like I had fangs. Too bad they moved into place. Ironically they also were the sharpest out of all my teeth. I miss them so much...
A dentist once asked me if I had had braces, I got lucky to have extremely straight teeth.
You should be really happy, my teeth look like a vampire and not in a good way. What i would give to be a little kid again and dont have them.
You are meant to have spaces between your back teeth, thats how it should be, but spaces on the front teeth could cause problems chewing if they are really big.
I had my vampire (canine) teeth filed down. I hated them for decades then found out how easy it was to fix.
This is due to are our modern life style, 150 years ago only about 5% of all people had crooked teeth.
any other that grew straight teeth as well as having their wisdom teeth fit so perfectly
Well, pretty close to straight, and the wisdom teeth in my upper jaw poked out only slightly sideways. I had them removed though, because they were annoying to clean.
I've been blessed with straight teeth but my sexuality isn't 😏
nice!!
OMG!🤣🤣
That's worse
@@yahirmartinezgutierrez9413 shut up
My favourite thing about getting braces is getting them tightened and trying to eat the next day.
what the fucc
Here I thought straight teeth were just a societal pressure thing.
My teeth came in straight all on their own. My mouth has never seen braces and never will.
My teeth are perfect, some people don't believe me when I say I never had braces. They started to hurt and shift when my wisdom teeth started coming out but I had them all removed and my teeth settled back in a straight position. I'm really lucky.
Chewing sticks for children?
My teeth have done 180's and I still don't have medical problems, these people are all just stuck in their bubble of 'looking good'.
Pretty grose, I know and for those worried about big nostrils, yeah you could say I have larger nostrils than most people but it still looks normal
i just wanted to see who said because you didn't mew. No one.
So I do it:
It's all your fault you aren't mewing.
Ayy I was looking for this comment
My canines are slightly bigger than the rest of my teeth. Was I meant to be a vampire?
Hyraxes are not rodents, they belong to the Hyracoidea order, just like elephants.
My absolute favourite scishow host!
I got a British Ad before I watched this
This makes sense, but doesn't explain why I had one tooth grow behind all the others and never come forward to join the line by itself.
conclusion improper oral posture.
I have all my teeth. My dentist thinks I'm weird.
For the EU in all of us.
how come my front tooth sticks out and sometimes when I close my mouth, the tooth tries to stick out of my mouth?
Guys, you are great and I learn a lot with you, but you called a hyrax a rodent; hyraxes are more closely related to elephants than they are to rodents. I guess you mean "rodent-like". It could be a small problem, but this is a science channel, so try to not make those mistakes again, please.
Jaws form teeth size are just regulated by different genes, so sometimes we inherit broad jaw and narrow teeth, or broad teeth and narrow jaws and need bracers in both cases. Sadly bracers cost a crapp tonn of money and need itself comes from being born this way.
i never could afford braces. i still have my crooked teeth. i won't blame evolution but that sucks.
Surprised to see Scishow calling Hyraxes rodents given that they aren't. They are related to elephants and manatees.
I have the exact opposite, too much space just like ma good old ancestors
tobi97dk
I fail to see the issue. You can actually clean the gunk out
One of my teeth is sideways for some reason and one time the dentist asked me "How'd you get your tooth to grow in sideways?"
How 'bout using only wholegrain products in the industry?
Would be alot cheaper and healthier!
Cant object to that.
I heard white flour products would be easier to bake/handle...im no baker...
Gothead420 processing whole grains (for bread flour etc) can be tricky, yes. Better to just cook and eat whole grains in their intact form 😊✌
Good idea if you bake your own. Whole grain products in supermarkets tend to have lots of added sugar to counter the bitterness. Those corporate bastards will fuck you one way or another.
Pretty weird but I get extremely sick when eating foods with Whole Grains. I don't understand why but it has gotten worse as I grew older.
Michael Ferger Is it just whole grain products? Wheat, namely? You could actually have Celiacs disease. Like, do you feel sick after eating oatmeal or brown rice? Those grains are naturally gluten free. Just trying to narrow things down
I got my wisdom teeth out before they even started to grow in. Why wait for them to start causing damage to get them removed?
Why do some people have tooth gaps?
So you have room to grow wisdom teeth. At least that's the case for me and a couple of my friends. My family was poor as shit and couldn't afford a full braces treatment for me, so I only had braces for 7 months. It fixed a lot of my teeth, but I still have the gap between my two front teeth. My friend had his teeth completely shut. 10 years later after our wisdom teeth grow, my gap is almost gone, and his teeth are crooked and lap over each other now. This isn't scientific, but I just find it funny how things turned out.
@thoryan94 I have a similar anecdote. I used to be able to fit a toothpick between my upper front teeth, but now there isn't a slightest gap. I never had any bracers.
I'm glad this isn't a problem I've ever had to deal with. my mouth was large enough to support my wisdom teeth and my teeth are straight enough that I don't have to worry about braces.
do black people have bigger jaws then? a lot of them have more jaw space than teeth leading to gaps
Depends on the ethic group, a lot of blacks have really narrow jaws.
oh shit are we talking the forbidden science? blacks never really had good agriculture maybe it has something to do with that to
v0000000000000000v They have a different skill structure, and from what I've seen, yes, they do.
Let me rephrase what I said, a specific group of them do.
I thought braces were free in the UK if you're under 16?
Daniell Bondad I got my braces for free on the NHS when I was 11 :)
One of my kids was born with only two wisdom teeth instead of four, and the other kid was born with no wisdom teeth at all. I tell them they are advanced humans... the next step in our evolution. :)
I never had braces or crooked teeth; my teeth are perfect and I still have my wisdom teeth
And your point is. . .
suckittomcat i think she was trying to say she's glad she was blessed? but it didnt sound that way lol
k8 lopez I'm a guy
Sounds like gloating to me. But your interpretation is nicer. ;-)
TheAthens619 lol whoops
These people with wider jaws have more attractive faces because the chewing gave them a more developed face. They have full cheeks and a broad, prominent jawline
CeLTiiCz that's a matter of preference I personally disagree
look it up, facts are facts. Just saying
Then why are small jaws in women considered Feminine and attractive? Some American students who went over to my country noted about how the women there have smaller, overshot jaws here, and they found it "hot".
I didn't say just cause you don't have a broad you can't be attractive. Those women probably have good formation of their cheeks, if you really want the full explanation go google claiming power and attractiveness.
u guys should do one on cancer. i mean, i understand basically what cancer is but maybe explain how not all cancer is equal and why some is more fixable than others
hehe lossers i dont have crooked teeth
when cows fly
You also don't have the knowledge to create a sentence with all the words spelled correctly
Walter Damn son, you got him good!
when cows fly h
I have an extra large brain.
I never had braces I didnt even know crooked teeth are so common my teeth were always straight
We should be asking , "Why is Hillary crooked?".
Guy Gamer why care about ger anymore- she isn't in the white house
some crooked Hilary supporter just got triggered : D kek
no such thing as alternative facts, facts are facts stupid leftist
Reality kellyanne doesn't seem to agree
She needs braces
I looove mac'n'cheese too. But I have a noob question. When we come across these buried fossils, do we assume that their size is indicative of the actual size of the organism when it was alive or do we factor in such processes as erosion and pressure-related compression that would make the bones and teeth smaller, by a certain factor, over time?
Because they look like Hillary Clinton
Bernardo Patiño Nice one.
There are now instances of children who don't have some permanent teeth grow in at all.
i got an ad for teeth alignment before this
Augh! I can't stop watching your videos!!!!
I did recently have my bottom wisdoms removed, though only because the dentist insisted to, not that they hurt at all yet.
Ah so my mom's inability to cook meat without transmuting it into rubber must be why I have such a strong jawline lol
this video reinforces evolution over creationism
Yay teeth.
so basically leafy only ate his food as a paste
My bottom ones are still just fine, though.
does that mean young developing children should be given tough foods in order to prevent short jaws?
This isn't always the case for some people. We also have to mention that skull shape is also important in this matter, people with flat skulls tend to have more space for their jaw than people with rounded skulls [by flat and round, I mean the way it looks from behind]. In some cases, the teeth might not even crook at all despite the diet of the person.
I vote for the hyrax to be the next internet meme for unimpressed and/or pissed off.
Love the channel!!!
the worst thing is that in most countries, fixing crooked teeth costs your kidney
I've had a problem with chewing on plastic my entire lid and I was told my wisdom teeth could fit in my mouth; I'm evidence for a scientific theory.
'my father said my sister was born lucky, he says I was lucky to be born' -zuko
You should also note that everyone's jaw is different. The way our teeth grow in is pretty random sometimes. Sometimes they don't grow straight. They grow sideways.
'orthodontic woes of today' was resonant with me because a wisdom tooth broke through the other day and bOY HOWDY DOES IT HURT
Dat shirt though
1:54 sorry to be a fuss pot but hyraxes aren't rodents, they're in their own clade with elephants and sea cows. You could do a whole video in them actually, they're pretty cool
Hyperthyroidism. Before treatment I was notably small for my age and, as a result, so was my jaw = crooked teeth.
So you're saying that, as children, Jay Leno & Bruce Campbell were fed Raw Gristly Meat and Uncooked Bones?
This argument could defeat any creationist in a debate.
This doesn’t explain why I have a bunch of random teeth just hanging out in the middle of my mouth 😂
