Had mine removed one week ago. Had a local anesthetics. The procedure was absolute painless. After 3 hours the anesthetics slowly faded, and the pain began. It was a solid 9/10. I can strongly recommend to take the given pain killers immediately after the surgery and not only after 2-3 hours. This will hopefully eliminate all pain. The next morning and onwards, there was no pain anymore. Swelling began on day 2 ans lasted up to day 5. I didnt eat anything for 24 hours, and can strongly recommend not to eat, as food may get stuck. Bleeding stopped after 2 days, and swallowing was a bit difficult for like 5 days. After 7 days, I could start to chew again. I did not chew at all before, and strongly recommend to eat soft food, which can be swallowed directly. Bad breath is normal, and I wouldn’t recommend brushing teeth in the first 5 days. As I said, after 6-7 days, I was 80% back to normal. The surgery itself was absolutely painless, and all the days after as well, except for the 3-4 hours before going to bed. Just take more painkillers and go to bed with your head elevated. Hope this helped!
It's different for everyone. I could chew from 3rd day. I think it's important to listen to your body. Eat simple food. Drink coconut water but don't use straws. I think first 24 hours are important when the blood cot is forming. Any negligence could result in dry socket.
I was pretty lucky to have my top and bottom teeth removed in separate sessions. Generally speaking, bottom wisdom teeth hurts more to since it requires stiches and they're root, whereas top teeth can simply be extracted without the need for stiches. I can't imagine the pain to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed in one session, best of luck to those who are going to go through this.
That's what my dentist said about my top wisdom tooth, well he lied. I felt extraction pain and he stitched me. I told him I felt something broke he said it was my bone and that I was lucky it wasn't the tooth that broke. "Totally painless, easy, you can have dinner tonight as per normal..." My S!

I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed when I was in the 5th grade. The surgeon had to open my gums to get them out, and they were HUGE!!! If they would have waited for them to pop out, they would have caused my teeth to go crooked. The best decision my parents ever made, I now have the most beautiful perfect, straight teeth. I’ve never had a cavity in my life and I’m 41 years young. I thank my parents for always being on top of my dental hygiene as a child. FYI by local anesthetic only all four at the same time. The removal wasn’t bad at all, the swelling afterwards is what sucked the most.
J M yessss it hurt me so much when one was coming out I couldn't sleep or eat... School sucks especially...and whyyy am I so unlucky...I'm 15 turning 16... Found out in earlier this year I have all 4 because one was erupting...
Your second set of molars grow in around that age. Count your teeth. If on a quadrant of your mouth you see two premolars (smaller molars) and then a molar and then there’s a second molar coming in, it’s just your twelve year old ones. Wisdom teeth are the third molars (mine got taken out at sixteen before they erupted because my jaw was too small)

Had one side of wisdoms pulled today during an emergency extraction due to the bottom right one decaying rapidly and constantly getting infected. It was supposed to get done next month but the pain was too much. It was done with just local anesthetic and both were pulled in a little under 5 minutes (the bottom one was impacted and the top one was pressing against my cheek). So far so good and I’m getting the other side done next month! If you’re getting it done, try not to worry so much about it. Just look for a good oral surgeon/dentist and follow all post operative instructions. You’ll be fine ^^
When you were 12!? I thought they weren’t supposed to properly start growing once you are 17 and they stop growing when you’re around 21? Are you sure these are your wisdom teeth and not another set of teeth?
Lol the surgeon that removed my wisdom teeth took one look in my mouth, chuckled, then said "there's no room left in the inn huh" then proceeded to laugh. 😭
miguel portillo If you’re on laughing gas, it sucks. You can literally hear the grinding as they try to dig the teeth out. It’s the worst. I only had 2 out of 5 impacted teeth removed (I have an extra tooth underneath my lower front teeth). One of my bottom wisdom was 1.5x bigger than the biggest molar tooth I had. The dentist who did the surgery asked for my permission to take my tooth as a specimen for her paper because it was unusually big, and it was the biggest she had seen yet. I'm just glad the surgery was done because I enjoyed all the ice cream I could consume that week.
Got two of mine removed a month ago... I was the only one with wisdom teeth problems in my family which sucks. They started hurting two years ago (19) and I’d put off the surgery until last month because the infection became way more frequent, from once a year to once a month. Doc said the other two are fine for now. I hope they won’t ever start hurting.
I kinda see my wisdom teeth as a helpful teeth. Right when it grew, I had to remove my molar tooth because of decay and right after my wisdom teeth grew, it just grew at a normal position so its now my molar teeth.
I extracted all four earlier in this year. There's no need to be put to sleep: the standard anesthesia injection works wonders. The injection hurts little (unless the needle catches onto one of your nerves when it's still inside your cheek spreading the chemical, but even that would just be a flash), and afterwards you will barely feel anything for a good three to four hours. You might want to prepare some fluids to eat for the first couple days of recovery, but it is not that tough to make it through, not if you take the antibiotics and painkillers given by the dentist. So good luck. I was able to eat fried rice on the third day of recovery, and it's really a relief to rid them.
@@庫倫亞利克 oh no its not the pain i was worried about it was just that the idea of being awake during it was way too much for me to handle. i mean i really dont think that being put to sleep during surgery is a very unreasonable thing to ask for anyway but apparently some people disagreed with me on that
@Jason Yang like i said previously its not the pain that concerned me, it was the fact that i was going to be awake during the procedure. i didnt mention this before but i was going to get consciously sedated during the procedure which didnt really help much because if i was awake while they were cutting my mouth open i could make one move and screw up the procedure, especially if i was drugged out of my mind and didnt even know what was going on

I had all 4 of mine finally removed about 6 years ago when I was 30 years old. They never caused me any pain, but were impacted my other teeth. I had avoided the surgery for so long but then finally did it and looking back I wish I had done it sooner. All in all it was not that horrible. The recovery did suck once I got back home but it's normal.
Imagine having braces for two years, you get them removed, and you have a nice new smile. Wisdom teeth: do you have time to talk about our lord and savior?
I got my lower wisdom teeth removed at 17 and the upper ones at 19. When I had them removed when I was 17, it was probably the most painful surgery I have experienced.
Rida Nightcores Mine didn’t hurt at first but the issue is (like regular teeth do) the tooth didn’t grow through my gum, it kinda just lifted it. So sometimes I end up biting my gum or sometimes stuff get stuck there and if I don’t notice it for a while it can cause week long tooth aches 😭
Mine started growing bottom left, it's been about 4 days, and since there's not 100% enough room, sometimes the skin from the inside of my cheek gets stuck and it hurts.

I’ve always had a small gap tooth that I’m kind of insecure about but the dentist told me that when my wisdom teeth grow they will close that gap by pushing the teeth together or something and I’ll basically get a free cosmetic surgery courtesy of my own body lmao I will kind of miss it tho
I can attest that this is true. When I was much younger, like 10 years old, I once unintentionally opened a gap in between my adult lower incisors with a toothpick. It left a tiny 1mm gap which I had it for years, until my mid-teens. The gap got gradually close up with more teeth growing in and pushing forward the existing teeth.😬😁
I don't remember my wisdom teeth experience being as painful as everyone said it would be. I just remember a lot of oozing blood that I had to deal with which was annoying.
Mines starting growing in and was cutting the side of my cheek when I chew, had to get all four of them removed at 19 even though, only one actually came out of the gum a little. They would’ve been a major pain in the a**
Bad rule. I had to get 3 removed. I never felt any pain or irritation. But looking at the x-ray pictures, it was pretty obvious that there was space in the gum that was creating an infection and also they were pushing the tooth next to it. So if I didn't decide to get them removed, they could do me real bad later. So following your rule is not smart. Get them checked and removed if they will make trouble in the future, even tho they don't hurt. The younger you are when they remove them, the easier your wound and jaw bone will heal. Also you don't want an infection, that's way much worse than getting the wisdom teeth removed.... The pain is not fun on an infection.
I’m 31 & mine never grew & the dentist said they won’t. I’m so lucky.

I couldn't take the painkillers they prescribed because it made me sick to my stomach.
Removing mine today! 😫

FYI by local anesthetic only all four at the same time. my mom thought it was unreasonable for me to want to be put to sleep during my wisdom teeth removal
so i just didnt do it
I extracted all four earlier in this year.

I had all four wisdom teeth at age of 13. I remember my dentist asking her assistant to count it together as she couldn't believe it :D
After I watched this I got a wisdom teeth after few days and I realize that I'm gonna be dead soon
I’ve always had a small gap tooth that I’m kind of insecure about but the dentist told me that when my wisdom teeth grow they will close that gap by pushing the teeth together or something and I’ll basically get a free cosmetic surgery courtesy of my own body lmao
I will kind of miss it tho
I can attest that this is true. When I was much younger, like 10 years old, I once unintentionally opened a gap in between my adult lower incisors with a toothpick. It left a tiny 1mm gap which I had it for years, until my mid-teens. The gap got gradually close up with more teeth growing in and pushing forward the existing teeth.😬😁
I don't remember my wisdom teeth experience being as painful as everyone said it would be. I just remember a lot of oozing blood that I had to deal with which was annoying.
My wisdom teeth were impacted so I definitely had to get mine removed. It helped a lot with the pain that had been building.
same just got it removed.
rule of thumb, if they're not causing you any pain and you have the space for them in your mouth, don't remove them.
kijiji93 food can get trapped and cause an infection
Lol I love the teeth party animation! Especially the last scene lmao wisdom teeth are beaten up and kicked out XD
