Today on pReview'd, Jay and Adam react to the joker movie review, then review it, and at the end Jay gives it his special rating. During the joker movie reaction they also talk about wicker chairs. Also in this joker movie reaction and review, i.e. the joker official movie reaction, or as it's known on the streets, the joker official movie review, Adam celebrates the Waynes’ murder. A lot. But it wouldn't be a joker official movie breakdown if Jay didn't get shaken to his core. But that's not all, this joker movie review spoilers also comes with a joker movie spoilers. All this for the low, low price of you hopefully watching the 5 - 15 second commercial before the video. And for good measure joker review spoilers, joker review previewd. And that is how you RUclips.

I was an extra in the last scene. When I saw Joaquin get up on that cop car and smear the blood on his face I knew he was gonna be a great joker
Do you have any info on the wicker chair? We need answers about that chair!!! 🙂
pReview'd haha they just gave us props lol it is random lol
That scene was awesome
Zazie Beetz plays a very important role in the movie. She is the part of his psyche that reaffirms what he is doing is ok. She let's him know there was nothing wrong with following her, she affirms him doing stand up, and she lets him know that those guys he shot deserved it. On his journey to becoming Joker she is the one in his mind supporting it.
No! Beetz's and Pheonix's relationship is the one thing that solidifies this being a movie diving into the dark depths of mental health as apposed to just a good movie featuring Joker. The realization scene in her apartment was killer! and really threw Fleck into the point of no return
The scenes with his neighbor are absolutely important for the narrative. Arthur's character never had real love and he wanted to be seen and appreciated. That's basically the core motivation , not really to have a relationship but for someone to notice him and think he's great. And the end scene with the bloody smile and him seeing the crowd loving him, he feels the most fulfilled he's ever felt and it explains why he enjoys his job so much as Joker, he finally matters and is noticed. And there's also the part he discovers about himself that he enjoys killing and watching the city burn because of how it treated him.
His imaginary relationship showed us he is an unreliable narrator, that Joker is. I thought it worked in helping in part the shaping of Arthur’s decent into becoming The Joker. I’d give this film 4.5/5
Also, I like the Zazie Beetz stuff. It illustrates how an unstable or even just a lonely person recreates the world in their mind as they wish it would be to comfort themselves through the turbulence in their life and how pervasive those fantasies can be. People who have trouble starting or sustaining actual relationships often indulge in fantasies about relationships and sometimes it can be more than just daydreaming about it. It can extend into pretending that the imagined fantasy is reality. I think that's what this was.
I do not want a sequel to this movie. I want one more companion film. I want them to do a Batman origin like this. I want this depth. Starting with the death of Bruce's parents, I want them to follow him for 10-15 years with this tone and also R-rated. Batman and Joker are two sides of the same coin. They are two people created by tragedy and confronted by madness. Joker gives in to his. Batman resists his and uses his darkness to fight darkness. I don't want Bruce to become Batman until the very end. Then, when he does, I want Joaquin Phoenix's Joker to be there. Having been Joker for 10-15 years. To illustrate both sides of tragedy. That's who these characters are. And I want Joker to recognize something broken in Batman that he finds familiar. Which is the seed of the beginning of his obsession with Batman. That's where the movie ends. It would be amazing.
I totally agree... That would be a great start to a wicked dance for a few films to come.... It makes sense that Joker would continue to perfect his Sociopathic Craft by the time Bruce becomes Batman.... Introducing himself as the one and only Clown Prince of Gotham.....thus beginning his distorted fixation/admiration for what the Joker considers as his own Rebirth in the Killing of the Wayne's... Therefore forever joining the Batman and Joker in an endless war of Mommy and Daddy issues....
Phoenix has already stated that he does not want to be in a sequel. In fact, he only wanted the part if it was a one and done movie. I have to say, I liked him better in the role than Heath, even though he was brilliant in his own right.
This movie is a masterpiece 10/10 I was so tired of the same superhero movies...
People who don't suffer from mental illness don't fully get it and I'm seeing it in reviews and commentary after I was done watching it. The message in the film is absolutely true.
I was also excited to see the Wayans die. Matter fact I started tearing up because I knew it was coming when I saw them run out the theater. They just played it out so well this time
I loved this movie. I was in silence all the time which is pretty wierd for me and then I just started crying and crying and had to take a moment for myself at the end. I do believe this is a social and political criticism and also a mental health call out to society. It was genious.
True
i shed tears too
The blood smile ontop of the car. My God...
Lucywon I was an extra on that scene! I got to touch his leg 😂😂
@@luiki4189 Hah! Wow! That's great! He was really like a rockstar in that moment! 😎🤗🤣
I almost started crying at that moment - because the movie was just so god damn perfect!
@@mickesmanymovies Definitely a goosebump moment!
Luis Luna what was Joaquin like on set? Did he stay in joker character that u could tell?
I thought this movie was a masterpiece. The way they handled the laugh was brilliant!!! Also, the lady on the bus did give back the card.
No she didn't
Man that dance on the stairs is going to be so iconic! Kinda like the lift on Dirty Dancing
I saw it last night. It was fantastic. Mr. Phoenix should win an award, and some cash money to go buy a sandwich.
I could write a paper about this movie..there was so much going on it was overwhelming, in a very good way. It was the best movie of 2019 for me 👍🏼👍🏼.
Amazing movie and great review!! The only thing I would slightly disagree with is the Zazie Beets storyline, even though that it's obvious he has some illusions and "fantasies" during the movie, this is where we truly realize to what extent his delusions can go...going as far as making us thinking to what extent any of what happened during the movie is even real? It's a truly well made and powerful movie, I'm still shocked and it's been two days.
Oh my gosh! I love this review! And I am not just giving you lip service - you just provided such a thoughtful, unique, heartfelt discussion, and I loved your comments about the visuals regarding the love of my life - NY! Shout out to Jersey City mention too. :-) Plus, there always has to be at least one or two giggle-inducing comments! "Hey, I'm not going to inspire any Batmen." LOL
After watching the trailer reaction I thought you were gonna leave us hanging. Good to see a movie review. Looking forward to more movie reviews.
Loved the review. :) The only time I questioned what I was seeing on screen was when Sophie was comforting Arthur in the hospital. My immediate thought was "who's looking after her daughter?" Although I wasn't surprised when we found out it was all in his imagination, it did make me even more sympathetic towards him. In short the scenes with her were very important to the film. In fact I saw somewhere on t'internet that she was going to be "for real" and the flowers we see him holding in the original trailer (as Joker) were for her.
Great review guys! Glad you enjoyed it! Was such a fantastic movie
I finally just bought this movie 🍿 and I have loved it for 2 years now too. Subbed recently just because of your trailer and reviews of this movie alone. More MOVIE trailer reactions please? You guys are great 👍👍👍
He could already be fighting batman, he could of been reminiscing how he created batman while inside Arkham
"Amazing coming of age tale of a young man in his early 40s who just realised what he wants to do with his life..." 🤣🤣🤣😈😢😢😭
I feel that you left out one to me important thing and that is the last scene which to me can be inturpeted in different ways. Otherways thanks for a good review and keep up the good work.
Oh.My.God.Guys! I almost have no words for how I feel about this movie. Just WOW! I loved it! I have seen it twice so far and can't stop thinking about it! I mean....uh....no words. Brilliant? Amazing? Fantastic? They're just not strong enough. Ugh. The music, the cinematography, the acting....all of it! 🤡😲😍
Thanks for the review guys, whilst I didn't agree with every point, predominantly regarding Zazie Beetz, I'm glad that you enjoyed the film and are feeling its effects.
I really enjoyed this movie too and look forward to more interesting concepts from DC, outside of their stumbling DC film Universe.
Keep up the great work guys. =)
The only reason it is “dangerous “ is because it shatters perceptions. Perceptions carefully crafted by some in society .
Zazie beetz is there to show not only support to his morally dubious actions, but also, comfort. It is important. Not only is she comforting him but the fact he imagines all of this as if it were real shows how much he actually needs it in the first place. As if he were telling himself: "it's okay, you are doing okay." It's fucking sad, that's what it is.
With the new teaser for Joker 2 having just come out, I ended up finding this video from long before I found you guys. Since Joker is, in my opinion, an amazing movie, and since you two are, in my opinion, amazing content creators / amazing people, of course I have to watch this, even though it's four years old! 😅
I'll click play now...
*EDIT* Jay: "My heart can't handle another Uncle Ben." Me from the future, after No Way Home: "Okay, but hear me out: what if Aunt May, then?"
The sad part is, the timeline of Arthur's life up to the point he becomes the joker shows us that there were numerous points someone/something could have intervened to direct him away from what he becomes; including during his childhood with the trauma his mother let him endure.
Also it comes down it that 'nobody cared about (him) until he put on the mask.' He found more fame, attention, and devotion as the villain than he ever did as the struggling protagonist.
I think they did that with Zeze Beats character to sell the fact that we can't believe everything he says, or imagined. Cause let's face it, that would fly over certain people's heads. Lol. The whole movie might not be real. So they technically are sticking to the whole, "JOKER doesn't have a origin story" bullshit all the fan boys were freaking out about. This movie really is a masterpiece! Easy the best movie of 2019, and one of my favorite films period!
Those joker stairs are in the Bronx... Highbridge neighborhood...between Jerome and Anderson...not Washington heights
I love you both buddys.. love your videos...loves from India ❤️❤️
Hi Jay. I love your guacamole!😁
Saw it last week, and it really good in so many levels and aspects!!!
The wicker chair: looted from a furniture store I guess?
Thanks for the spoiler alert. Leaving at 6:51. I have to come back to finish this video. I feel like something is missing if I don't hear "Guacamole's Extra"
Really appreciated this review but I will say the one thing I disagree with is the subplot with Zazie Beetz. The talk show thing was just simple daydreaming but this was literally him conjuring up a different reality that he bought into. Before it was just something that basically everyone does. But after that reveal it's clear that that is no longer the case and that he truly has gone very deeply down that rabbit hole.
JOKER 2019 = MASTERPIECE
Batman would need more than 14 years in order to become batman with is training, but I would love to admit I would love to see this become a true origin film to a batman film and move the DC forward as an adult comic reader.
Even all this time later, I think this movie's very underrated. Being compared to Heath Ledger's Joker is obviously no small thing, but I think Phoenix really pulled off the 'Force of Nature' Joker, where he's not this nefarious criminal mastermind, but more like a true agent of chaos.
Had me at the "fight club"-esque girlfriend. Brilliant
Watched it at the Bruin Theater in Westwood...we joined the crowd around Joker's car crash. 🃏
Nice beard Jay sir.
In the film, Aurthur is only about 30yrs old. Just thought I'd share that. It says that multiple times throughout the movie. 👌
"that's a reasonable age to start fighting crime" as if it's like an age for your daughter to be dating or something 😂
So...he was Silent Jay? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg i was so pissed ,during Jock Jams, my movie going audience didn’t scream “HEY!” right along with me😂😂😂
Masterpiece!!!
The Wicker Chair is obviously an homage to Nicholas Cage. Product placement for Primal.
I would love for you guys to do react to old reactions, after watching the movie you can react to your trailer reaction, then review the movie. Would be awesome.
This movie was insanely good and was so powerful it made you uncomfortable because of how realistic it was and the intensity of it all.
*ADAM* I HAD THE SAME QUESTION ABOUT IF HE GOT HIS CARD BACK ON THE BUS! It was driving me mad
TardisInTheSkye he didn’t that’s what he was looking for on the bus when he killed the guys. He was looking for his card to give them but he never got it back
Was surprised you guys didnt comment on Joaquin Phoenix's performance. For me he was right up there with Heath Ledger though it was a different take.
Silent Jay & Adam!!!!
The street with the sign had CGI. The street actually ends within sight on the first shot, and they used CGI to make it longer. There are some other CGI on the streets as well. So
This movie was amazing. I watched it twice. Couldn’t watch it again, my mind gets twisted.
I know exactly what you mean about not feeling safe in the movie theater.... I can't remember the exact scene...perhaps towards the last 10 min or so of the film... I felt that same way around me while I sat there... I actually look around in paranoia for a moment...
Masterpiece
This movie is a love letter to people with mental illness that are treated as if they don't have mental illness by a society of people who simply don't understand us.
Maybe thats where the cars go when u donate them
Some scenes were in newark nj
My son went to see JOKER and he called me when he was home. I asked him if he liked it and he said,"It was a great movie. It bothered me to the point that I don't think I can ever watch it again. But it's not the movie's fault."
The movie was fucking awesome in its own way
what if arthur died when he enter the fridge, and everything was just an ilusion
=)
This film took too much from other, better films that it was homaging. I like that it took bits from Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and it was very much a tribute to 70's dramas like Taxi Driver, but it was too much of a Falling Down situation where people mistake the protagonist for a hero. He's not. In this case he's a victim of a broken system and the indifference of a society that mocks and ostracizes mental illness. What he becomes is as much a product of public opinion as the first part of his life. He has very little agency and his identity is all about how he's perceived.
Bruce was 29 when he decided being the 🦇man
Why do people always comment on Jokers age. It is very obvious that according to the storyline he’s in his mid 30s. The reason he looked weathered is the life he was forced to live and due to poverty he fed his mother and ate what he could that was left. Be that as it may it’s a comic book based film, they could have Joker in his mid 50’s when Batman arrives on the scene and Joker would just have underlings doing the physical stuff and he just organizes what will happen. In both the Jack Joker snd Heath Joker neither one engages Batman in a physical fight one on one.
I didn't read through all the comments so this may have already been stated, but I expected Joker would kill the talk show host ever since the first trailer showing Joker was on the show. He not only killed the talk show host in the movie The Dark Knight Returns Part 2, he kills the entire audience. I was actually thinking he was gonna fire off a few random shots at other ppl too but he didn't.
Wicker Man origin story.
His perception is severely distorted...all we know is that he is at arkham but for what reason? For stealing records? We do not know whether he killed anyone for sure...he is an unreliable narrator...all he has are negative thoughts...
Not a movie reaction
Nao é um filme é o filme.
Where the fuck is the reaction????
That's the only thing that didn't sit with me, the song choice for him dancing down the stairs, mainly because the guy is a convicted paedophile who will probably make money off this film.
Other than that I loved it. Hopefully DC will continue down this route for future films.
Wtf?...
Just like Michael Jackson
@@TheMoka4 Gary Glitter
@@djm134 what's he got to do with anything?
I may be the only person around that was not as impressed as it sounds like I should have been by this movie. I felt nothing and I usually cry at everything. Lol.
I just hope this movie won't inspire murderers around the world to take action. 😞😞😞
You Didn’t feel “Safe” in the theater? seriously? C’mon bro.
I understand your worries but allot of it has to do with media and how easily it is accessed via cell phone and social media platforms. For example children are less likely to be shot at school today than in the 90s, and that is simple fact backed by data that is easy to google. But I will admit the media has done its job in scaring me so I will be concealed carrying.
Bruce grows into Batman and whether it's Arthur or not, Joker has to get dipped in chemicals. So chemically transformed in clown juice, is a point where I think the Joker is immortal. I think that comic Joker doesn't has an origin because of that and why the character exists because the the film canons throughout the years.
First
Ngl these two are the most annoying people I’ve ever witness together
Sorry but the fear mongering from the media about this film was utterly pathetic. All they want is for something bad to happen so they can say "See, told you so. This is Trump's fault". If you felt uncomfortable due to the being lied to by the media then I feel bad for you.
you are so right!
