Those small end cut off boards would be excellent as the back ground on a larger project. Find someone who is great at drawing/painting and have your dream drawn up and displayed as the “Crocker Homestead” dream. You could place out front of completed home on display. Meaning behind a memory. Just a thought. Be Creative! Also fruit trays, vegetables trays and nuts excellent way to lose weight. Avoid those negative calories from all that starch that destroys muscle and brain cells. Inflammation from arthritis is no joke when a body is not fueled in the right direction. Blessing’s to all 3 of you as you enjoy this season of your life.

Wow! I live in Texas, so I understand that kind of heat. I had a sunstroke when I was a little kid in the 50s. My body thermostat has not worked the same since. I can't stand being out in the heat more than an hour or so at a time. You are doing the right thing by covering your skin and staying hydrated.

Hey, to each there own when it comes to building, some tips for next time yall. Ya want to pack under your blocks, (settling). Go invest in a 4ft or longer level its very useful and more accurate. For cutting lumber, you can easy create a jig if your going to make multiple cuts. Just food for thought yall. Been there too.
No I didn't read all the other comments.
Either way, keep it up and keep going yall.

#1 It's no one's business to know what you spend on this build, and you don't have to explain yourselves.

You're doing a great job and it's your business how you do things, not someone elses. Don't listen to them :) If you want help or opinions I suppose you would ask. The reason I don't have a RUclips channel is I get tired of explaining myself all the time. Keep up the good work.

Excited to see your progress. God bless.

Instead of using the drop to measure, use the finish stud/joist/rafter as a template and a stop block to mate up the ends, then mark it and just take the line with the blade. If you have a miter saw you simply set up a stop block at the correct distance from the blade and get chopping
