Watching this couple working together so well and getting so much accomplished sure brought back some fond memories for me. About 25 years ago my late wife (23 years since she passed away) and I purchased five acres of land out in the country to get away from the noise and frustrations of living with wall to wall neighbors. We had an old 27' Allegro motor home that we brought out to the land to stay in when we were clearing the property and to live in on weekends. It was a LOT of work but in a short time we had enough cleared that we could have a house that she found that was going to be demolished to make way for a new four-laned street moved out to the property. That being done, we worked like crazy to get the plumbing and electrical completed so we could move in. Sadly, my precious gift from God did not live to see the project completed, passing away from cancer just three weeks after being diagnosed, but enough that she could have the things she wanted built for it. The one thing I did learn from all of that working together was just how really close we grew every day. I had the best wife and partner any man could ever dream of having. Just seeing the happiness on her face each time we passed another milestone just made me work that much harder to get us into the house and having time to relax together and enjoy it. In the 23 years since she's been gone I have thought about selling the place and moving on but somehow I just can't seem to being myself to do it. There is just so much of her still here. Seeing this couple and how well they work together and the feelings that they have for each other really brought a lot of what we had back to me. I wish this young couple many decades of happiness and health as they work to build their dream together.
@@janeysiegrist5061, thank you. It hasn't been the easiest thing I've ever done but her memory is just as strong now as it was the last day I held her. I just try to remember the blessing that she was in my life.
@Clay Clay, it sure brought back some precious memories. We didn't always have sunshine and roses, no couple does, but what we had I wouldn't trade for anything this earth could ever offer me.
This video is so Inspiring for all young people growing up in this day and age. I pray that as the world be turning that more young folks watch this and get off a cellphone and choose a life like these two. Dude your lady is awesome just as you are. I HOPE ANS PRAY Y'ALL DO THIS, MAKE A GREAT LIFE, AND STAY TOGETHER FOREVER.
I don't know where you live, but not having insulation inside the walls or at least damp proving it might bite you later on. Love the project, you rock guys!
100% agree with this, in the beginning she couldn't feel her feet it was so cold... then he says we won't be insulating I thought 🤦♂️ what a shame, because insulation is something you'll never regret paying for.
No idea where you two are today, but I promise you won't find any more like you. Love hard, work hard, and fight like hell against anything that tries to tear you apart. Prayers and well wishes for both of you. 🙏
Great job. Critique: Could have forgon some paint or aesthetics in exchange for insulation, easier to add paint than insulation later. I'd rather be comfortable and look bad, than look absolutely awesome 😁 and be cold. Again great job!
While I agree that insulation should of came over good looks….having that particular stove and a couple others of similar size, for a 10x10 canvas tent and a 16’ camp trailer. I’m positive that stove is more than adequate for a 10x10 room(now even smaller with full 2x4 framing) and especially sleeping in loft bed. Here in the Rocky mtns, in 1’ of snow those lil stoves are great in tent or 1975 16’ camp trailer I gutted propane heater out of to put wood stove in. That being said tho I would of definitely waited on the paint and stained molding and INSULATED!….at minimum the bare tin roof… I’d love to find a property like that. Except I’d of made some storage use of the floor trench. But to each their own. Fun couple to watch! Enjoyed video. Everyone will have different ideas. Great job!
I strongly recommend that you trench all the way around the your house and work building and put a French Drain all the way around so when it rains you don't have flooding in the house or work shed. It looks great but don't forget the foundation protections that must be done. The flashing isn't enought!!!
@@MmmChipotle I saw that...hence my comment. And I didn't think elevating the floor with a wood setup was good idea because of the mold that could get under the wood floor if the water got in like it had before. It would have been better to form the present concrete floor and add 6 inches of concrete to get the level above grade. But I understand doing this on a shoe string you have to do the best you can and they have done a great job. I just hate that if a gully washer rain comes their floor will be swamped and they will have to start over.
@@johnpitchlynn3004 my mother's old house was on a cement slab. Always had to dig trenches/canals for flowing water especially in the early spring. We would have to chisel paths through the frozen earth for the water to run. Ground level cement slab, but different climate so I assume there is a huge difference.
@@MmmChipotleAbsolutely know what you're talking about. In the old days homes were built on brick or stone Piers with a stone or brick footing and elevated at least 4 feet above grade. Basements were the same mostly stone or large brick with dirt floors. But French (or Roman or Greek drains) have been around for centuries in one form or another and used even with those raised crawlspace type foundations. They are invaluable in keeping water out of homes. But since on grade footing stem wall slab system became all the rage many have forgotten to ensure French drains are there to take excess water away and in heavy rains homes can and do experience water flooding on their slab floors.
I think a housing crash will happen because all those people who bought homes over asking price, although it was at a low interest rate, they are over their heads. They have no equity if the housing prices continue to go down, and if for whatever reason they cannot afford the house anymore and it goes into foreclosure because even if they try to sell, they will not make any money. I think this will happen to a lot of people especially with the massive layoff predicted for the future and the cost of living rising at a high speed.
@@markgeorge8206 Do you mind sharing info on the adviser who assisted you? been saving for pension since age 18 - company scheme. along the way I hit higher tax, so I added to my company pension with a SIPP (tax benefits) I'm 50 now and would love to grow my finance more aggressively, there are a few cars I still wish to drive, a few mega holidays, etc.
Very true. Upside down and inside out is what the business world and individuals that bought these homes will be. The perfect storm is brewing. Another Las Vegas is on the horizon.
Lmfao ppl been talking market crash for years now. You're delusional here in Colorado back since 2020 the market hasn't moved at its highest point it increased if that
Know all three of you are so proud with every second you've put in these videos to prove the land. So looking forward to seeing the houses come up. Your all awesome.
You two have no idea how much I envy you doing this. If I was 55 years younger, I'd jump on something like this in a minute. Good luck with this and I'll be dropping back in to see the progress.
I enjoyed the video. A nice young couple; I wish them all the best. I get being on a budget (surely do), but given the amount of money and effort going into this, I don't think saving on insulation, water-proofing, underlay, pressure treated wood, etc is the place to save.
Exactly what I was thinking. If you're going to put all that effort in then you might as well spend the extra money and ensure the place won't rot and stay temperate.
Had a hard time watching this video honestly. 😔 Always love to see the hard work but man, not for the sake of aesthetic over longevity and workmanship. Wish you guys the best but I'd suggest doing some more research to save yourself a whole lot of headache down the road.
Right? You can pay a little to insulate now or you can pay to heat or cool times whatever forever.. how does that make sense? Also, why are you rolling out joint compound? Even if it's for some strange texture.. you fill holes and tape first.. seriously, if it's just temporary shelter, save yourself a pile and set up a hot tent in that room
They abandoned the house after this in Oklahoma. The reason it doesn't make sense is they weren't actually planning on staying there just doing it for a video
Really great video! Gotta say tho, a bunch of years ago I rebuilt my shed into a shop with just tar paper and siding. 10 years I put up with it, then finally took the siding down and insulated. Gained so much usable time out there…
I've been watching you for so long and I remember all of the work that was done. Going back to watch it again now has just blown my mind. THE MOST AMAZING TRANSFORMATION..... Jason you Danielle and Jared are the hardest working people I've seen on you tube. Just getting in there and getting it done. 1.2 million views, I'm not surprised. You deserve everything good that comes your way. You've earnt it. Love the progress, looking forward to seeing both yours and Jared's tiny houses being built. Love, happiness and peace to you all.😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My wife and I did the same thing, bought a bare piece of land, built a homestead. Looking at this video is so inspiring for others who want to do this and aren't sure they can. Makes me wish we had filmed our journey. You guys did a great job showing how even something that already exists can be turned into a homestead quickly and on the cheap. Helping people leave the rat maze and move closer to nature is a noble aim.
I wish my wife had wanted to do things with me like this! Skipping insulation seems penywise and pound foolish since the building will not be usable during the winter (and perhaps the summer).
A woman like this seems rare. If they're not can someone please point me in the direction as to where they reside? I'd leave everything I have behind just to be with someone like her.
@@markharmon4963 I can handle living the lie through RUclips as opposed to the reality I live in now where I am the handmade and my liberal spoiled wife naps as I do everything to make her life comfortable. This lady may be pretend, but pretending is more work then my wife does. Lol

Hey there's there's still woman like her but yes hard to find . I like helping my husband aswell but he is not appreciative he's is more a Sargent and father figure been with him since I was 17 and I'm 42 now always took the relationship as if I was more like a maid . If I where to get sick he just leave me there will not get medicine I'll have to try to figure out how to cure myself , recently his sister came over from Georgia taking care of his mom and he seen his sister had alittle cough and immediately went to cvs pharmacy bought her some medicine and halls. I feel bad the way he treats other with more sympathy than he ever does to me. I've never seen sympathy for me at all. Or appreciation. Well sorry for all this posted but keep looking for a great woman. Best of luck.
You two guys are living the dream. What greater satisfaction can two young people have other than building their dream together. I wish you nothing but the very best in the years ahead. Greetings from Down Under
Nice project. I would put damp proofing between the floor joists and the concrete slab to prevent moisture moving up into the floor and insulation in the floors, walls and ceiling - warm in winter (less fuel) and cooler in summer.
This thing is gonna condensate like nobody's business and have mold growing behind the drywall within a month. The metal roof will especially condensate and drip on a cold day.
Great video. Reminds me of the project I had about three years ago. My wife and I bought a house from hoarders in June 2019. If you've ever seen that show on TLC (Hoarders), this house could have been an episode. Raccoons had lived in the attic for years and raccoons don't care where they go to the bathroom which meant that there was about 10 years worth of racoon poop in the attic that had to be cleaned out and insulation replaced. Then they had cats living in the house for years. They cleaned out the litter box and put the old kitty litter in the empty kitty litter pails but then they never threw the full pails of old stinky kitty litter away. They stacked them in the basement. There were 22 pails of used kitty litter stored down there. 35 lbs each pail. (That's over 700 lbs of used kitty litter.) It took almost a year to get rid of all the different odors. Because we were on a tight budget and couldn't afford one of those big garbage bins we had to put all the trash in 33 gal trash bags and put them in three garbage cans and two recycle bins each week. All total I estimate that I threw away approx 300 bags of trash and approx 5,000 lbs of recycled paper. The roof had not been replaced until many years after water leak damage had already been done. I worked on the house a lot when the economy shut down for covid (approx 60-70 hours/wk) but had to quit once the economy opened back up. For one, because I was sick of working on the house and two, because I had run out of money and had to go back to working lots of O/T so I could afford the stuff for renovation. But besides being a real confidence builder being able to tackle something so big by myself it has also been a great investment. We bought the house for $5,000 and is now worth approx $235-250,000. I wish I would have taken the time to video all that I did to this house as you did. So many amazing stories about this house project; We took possession of the house on July 10th and the following day the A/C went out and had to replace the unit. One month later the house was struck by lightning. Thanks goodness we had already gotten the house insured because it was $15,000 for that repair. Then there was the ziplock freezer bag my wife found with $1,500 cash in it. And then there was the scanner we found and didn't realize what it was until a guy buying junk furniture from me recognized it, looked it up on ebay where it was selling for $1,900. It is definitely the biggest project I've ever undertaken. You did a great job on this video and on your project. Props to you and your wife for a great job.
You both have really been great supporters of each other. Your hard work is paying off. Wish you both great success in the future. The memories will be all worth it!! 🥰❤️
I love to see the fast pace work and craftsmanship, but I am wincing at the complete lack of insulation going in. It would be a lot easier to cool/heat that space even with only a modest amount.
Sorry little more critical of the surface rust on the roof, walls and ventilation. Built a small room to live in. Never seen any primer put on the building to stop more rust. Hopefully that paint comes with primer in it. Paint seemed flat and worried 20 yrs from now your replacing sheet metal in your 50s or 60s. Also didn't see any lacquer seal over the wood finish on the outside. Wish them the best. Hopefully this is just the start of him making improvements like adding a coat of primer and lacquer once he gets settled in. Also see water that high up look at a raising the chicken pen off the ground and same for the goats. Look into annual rainfall in the area and what extreme bad flooding looks like in that area.
@@Nabsolute_ I would too. I loved the whole vibe of old workshop and water tank. Kinda steam punk but with functionality. Would kill to have that property. Hope they do well👍
Look at all the hard work you all have done in a short time at Shootdang Ranch. Ranch is looking beautiful blooming out and turning green. Be proud of yourselves. We viewer's are so proud and happy for you guys.
Love what you guys have done with this property but I'm concerned about the lack of insulation and actual moisture barrier in the walls of the 10x10. I did see the note about cost savings and building a tiny home later but all the framing and wallboard are going to end up wasted effort and money due to high condensation between the tin and the wallboard.
Yea they were complaining about it being cold and then didn't insulate the floor. They're going to go through way more wood to heat because they didn't insulate.
Plus their wood stove is too small. It's going to take way more energy to split stuff that small and then they're going to have to constantly keep putting more in
Loved watching. You'll are so meticulous and did a great job. Most young people nowadays just half ass do things but I was very impressed with all the time and hard work You'll put into it. Good luck in the future.
I’m just amazed at what you’ve done in 4 short months. All of you are creative and are great at repurposing items you have, I’m anxious to see what’s next!!! You three make a good team!!
Two things , at the 11:34 mark you installed your window to the frame then sided over the nailing flange of the window, because of this the window WILL leak on the inside of the wall. Also if you have to replace the window for any reason you'll have to either remove the siding if you want to save the window or cut the nailing flange and ruin the window.
Leak, there are no jack studs holding up the header. That was a bigger concern for me. You could always use a quarter round or something to keep water out. Not ideal but not the Taj Mahal.
I remember everything you all did. I seen everyone of the videos. People saying you don't do anything, they should be watching this. Probably more than they do.
Just goes to show you how hard worker’s you all are, it’s amazing to see that it only took 4 months to achieve, great video and can’t wait to see your next adventure, hugs to you all from England xxx
Great video and content. Professional pointer regarding your window trim- the vertical side boards need to start from beneath the header board on top, and continue past the bottom board and end flush with the bottom of the bottom board. This is how you maintain proper water shed. First though, you need to wrap the nail flange to the building with window wrap tape. Also, why didn't you use any house wrap/tyvek? You need a vapor barrier. Doing good though 👍
I just came across your channel today, what a pleasant surprise it was. I love creating and building and just about everything y'all are doing. You girlfriend reminds me of myself back in my prime. I built barns, fences, lots of decks, cut down many a tree. Everyone that knew me always came to me for help and advice on their projects. I ran heavy equipment, tractors, chainsaws, plumbing, tile work, painting (I am also a artist). I am so enjoying your channel and I will be going back to the start to watch all the videos.
I JUST said to my husband last week when Danielle was on a video talking about how much y'all had done, I said, "They ought to do a time-lapse video showing how much they've already done"! I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS VIDEO! Y'all have done so much already!
I look forward to watching ALL the Crocker videos! Ready for season 2 of SHOOT DANG Ranch. I love how much they have been posting the more they post the more I watch.
I AM a seasoned You Tuber with the Crocker family and I have been here for over 3 yrs and I still enjoy watching this video on occassion. Yes it is that awesome and you will see for yourself and I know you will agree. Thank You Crockers and Danielle too
This video is a great reminder to all how far you have come in a short period of time! Great job! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey! ❤️
Thanks for sharing guys! My family and I are undertaking something similar but only on 5 acres, steel barn house that we're not quite sure if we want to commit to so we've made it livable for now. Just finished our first year here, the last 6 months were spent cleaning up the scrub. Good luck!
This is my first episode to watch... the building was a pump house (or shed). These are used to house pumps at the origin of a pipeline or as a booster station. The large concrete "pillars" are actually pump and motor bases.
Even if the room were for a short time (maybe used later for a work shop, etc.) insulation under the flooring and in walls and ceiling is almost a must! For heat, a heater made out of a barrel works great. Was at a cabin years ago that used one (for safety purposes they built a fence/railing around it to prevent accidentally touching it in passing) and it heated it up very well.
I too was surprised at the lack of insulation, if it is cold enough that her feet were froze it is going to be very brisk inside there without any insulation.
Just a suggestion. Next time you build a sub-floor over a slab, it is standard to use pressure treated lumber when you are in direct contact with a slab or foundation.
As a contractor in a state the requires fuck tones of codes and standards that I have to live and breath and die by, there is so much wrong in what they are doing, but holy fucking helllll am I so envious of what they are doing and the freedom to do it "wrong"
@Peter It's their property, their DIY and their budget. They will learn and any mistakes made, they'll have to deal with. No skin off any of your noses. Get a life!
Refreshing thing to see people forming families and taking on big projects like these. That being said painting that building black will make it turn into a sauna during summer, and I would personally have improved that hole in the middle of the floor to turn it into a storage area, could even be a wine cellar or something like that since it would have a somewhat controlled temperature. Other than that I love the idea and the project, I sort of want something like that
Hey there, just wanted you to know that your journey is totally inspiring. My partner and I just built a tiny cabin on his sisters land….we are ready to find our own property and homestead. Really appreciate your filming so much, extremely helpful. Blessings and lots of love.😀❤️
@@TheCrockers I don't get what's the point of all the building constant building? Is there a purpose or is it just to make more videos? I'm just confused

You don’t know what this does to my heart and soul to see you bring something that once had life and then no life… back to life again. Omgosh! It makes me so happy. I’ve been binge watching abandoned mansion videos and it breaks my heart to see that some beautiful places are just wasting away and decaying when they are fixable and can be lived in again. Thank you for doing this. Much love and light my friend. You and your crew done an amazing job. 🥀🌹
Awesome video-from the beginning of buying the property and all the work and improvements you’ve done , wow 🤩. What a great video you have put together. Great work Jason, along with Jared and Danielle… Proud of everyone 👍👍👍👍
while I love this idea and both of you did put in a lot of great work, I question some of the steps you did to cut costs. To start wood and concrete should never touch. You should have spent more time in flashing and protecting the wood. Start by placing a plastic barrier between your wood and subfloor. then make sure the grade is not pointing towards the home. By doing it that way you could have insulated the floor too. I also would insulate everywhere. While I am not sure what your plans are, but it seems to get cold where you are. I would have insulated everything. Insulation is not super expensive and it is easy to do when you have access and hard to do afterwards. This overall is a great idea and something that I would like to do if a good property like this ever becomes available near me. Thanks for showing the video.
@@icepick1514 100% agree. It is videos like this that make me weary of buying homes. Somewhere some person is watching this video and emulating what he sees. What that individual does not know is that he is violating several codes and the project will not last. Good idea bad horrible execution.
@@therealguru9019 totally. Hard to watch really. They can afford to rent that tractor but won't foot the bill for some insulation and plastic sheeting? Doesn't make any sense, I'm pulling my hair out. Lol.
Jason you sure have a lot of skills & talent when it comes to building & repairs. You were brave to paint the top of the building. "SpiderMan" Danielle works so hard too. The hours she puts in & her willingness to try new tools is inspiring! Jarod too & what a "Knight" he was holding down the fort the night of downpours, tornadoes, lightening, & flooding!
Its amazing rewatching these parts, i already knew you had done so much, but really guys, what you have done in such a small amount of time with such limited resources is tremendous. You need to be so proud of your accomplishments. But most of all is the teamwork. Love watching you all.
As an contractor for over 25 years… you all did a great job. Of course, I would have added a vapor barrier and insulation underneath that first framed floor just in case the concrete wasn’t sealed. Also, Thompson’s Water sealer is the absolute worst product that anyone can put on wood.
very nice project bro. my recommendations would be plaster your jib/dry wall joins with fuze so in the long run the jib board where the joins are won't crack, but you'll most likely have to pull down the walls and framing and best recommendation would be spray insilation to stop mold best of luck for your future projects don't do a half job it'll bite you back in the long run and end up costing more
You filled in a storm shelter that looked like it had extreme potential. All that steel, concrete pillars and exterior access would have been worth keeping. Storm shelter below the workshop would have been a smart choice.
Quick temporary solution for the ‘cold feet’ problem… As someone who has great difficulty in finding work boots in my size, I have had to wear steel-toed rubber boots with no insulation. I now carry two pairs of ‘hand warmer’ brand insoles. They stay warm for a few hours; long enough to get done what I need!
New to following y'all so I'm so happy to watch this! That workshop must've seen a lot in its years. Good that your pit wasn't full of stinky water! My old family homestead (let go of it when my grandmother passed nobody took it up, I was too young) the pit was full of gross water and frogs! Love the transformation of this shop! Amazing work!
Great job! My stepson has all the tools +wood mixer bandsaw all the trees you could need to build anything one could want. 40 years old and doesn't do anything with it. It's so sad to see it.

I absolutely love that you not only didn't paint everything white, but you stained the wood instead of painting it. My pet peeve is everything colorless, it's like 'Dude there are literally thousands of variations on non white, pick one.'. Love the color you chose too. Here's to not being like everyone else.

Jason am sooo happy for you guys, how's your brother? Great acquisition! Note, when cutting wires or rebars with a grinder you won't need to cut them completely but enough you can break with moving it, remember it'll get hot. Then you'll finish it with the grinder. With time you'll get the tool to cut chains and locks and sort of have more manual tools to save the generator for when you absolutely can't use your hands. That building is an old water treatment building , and the recessed concrete pit was where they monitored the water flow, injected chlorine, etc., all because the discharge line needed to be below ground level..

Great job. Critique: Could have forgon some paint or aesthetics in exchange for insulation, easier to add paint than insulation later. I'd rather be comfortable and look bad, than look absolutely awesome 😁 and be cold. Again great job!
Right? That tiny wood stove isn't likely to cut it in that room especially with no insulation.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ shove it, pusher man.
That being said tho I would of definitely waited on the paint and stained molding and INSULATED!….at minimum the bare tin roof…
I’d love to find a property like that. Except I’d of made some storage use of the floor trench. But to each their own. Fun couple to watch! Enjoyed video. Everyone will have different ideas. Great job!

Insulation an after thought or just forgotten!@!!!*
I strongly recommend that you trench all the way around the your house and work building and put a French Drain all the way around so when it rains you don't have flooding in the house or work shed. It looks great but don't forget the foundation protections that must be done. The flashing isn't enought!!!
All the dirt from that small room was definitly brought in by water incident.
@@MmmChipotle Years of wind can do similar.

Yup...
2 things.... Wood stove on a wood shelf, and no insulation. Ive built houses for 30yrs, doesn't make scene.
Nice work
They abandoned the house after this in Oklahoma. The reason it doesn't make sense is they weren't actually planning on staying there just doing it for a video

Nice project. I would put damp proofing between the floor joists and the concrete slab to prevent moisture moving up into the floor and insulation in the floors, walls and ceiling - warm in winter (less fuel) and cooler in summer.
I was thinking the same thing
This thing is gonna condensate like nobody's business and have mold growing behind the drywall within a month. The metal roof will especially condensate and drip on a cold day.
So funy and amateur without insulation..😮💨
Anyone can put up build something but doing it right is on a whole other level
Agree. From the looks of all the comments.... I didn't realize how many people were deprived of Legos or Lincoln Logs.
They didn’t put insulation in before putting dry wall up, nor did they account for electrical wiring in the walls before putting dry wall up.
Me too. Lots of things not going in.
Totally! They were just talking about the cold!! All that skill but missed essential insulation.

I was thinking the same thing. This isn't the first DIY, off-grid video that I've seen that makes this same mistake.
My question too. Where's the damn insulation? Course a good wood burning stove would heat it nicely.
Yea they were complaining about it being cold and then didn't insulate the floor. They're going to go through way more wood to heat because they didn't insulate.
Plus their wood stove is too small. It's going to take way more energy to split stuff that small and then they're going to have to constantly keep putting more in
and the floor... no flashing above the window too.
I was surprised that you put untreated lumber down next to the concrete. You did a good job with the construction.

I came for the window comment as well. That thing will 100% leak.
Commenting to hopefully get them to see this comment! Thank you for sharing - super helpful! 💗
Leak, there are no jack studs holding up the header. That was a bigger concern for me. You could always use a quarter round or something to keep water out. Not ideal but not the Taj Mahal.

Even if the room were for a short time (maybe used later for a work shop, etc.) insulation under the flooring and in walls and ceiling is almost a must! For heat, a heater made out of a barrel works great. Was at a cabin years ago that used one (for safety purposes they built a fence/railing around it to prevent accidentally touching it in passing) and it heated it up very well.
agreed! i'm so dissapointed.
Even putting the woodstove up high keeps the heat higher up stove on the floor least keeps it down low. Going to get cold feet
I agree. Insulation is cheap. That was the only part of the video I disagreed with. Overall fantastic job.
Asking from Australia...... does she have a suster? Amazin'
Yes moisture barrier. 80# tar
And insulation under the sub-floor also.
It's a hack job clearly

Refreshing thing to see people forming families and taking on big projects like these. That being said painting that building black will make it turn into a sauna during summer, and I would personally have improved that hole in the middle of the floor to turn it into a storage area, could even be a wine cellar or something like that since it would have a somewhat controlled temperature. while I love this idea and both of you did put in a lot of great work, I question some of the steps you did to cut costs.

As an contractor for over 25 years… you all did a great job. Of course, I would have added a vapor barrier and insulation underneath that first framed floor just in case the concrete wasn’t sealed. Also, Thompson’s Water sealer is the absolute worst product that anyone can put on wood.
very nice project bro. my recommendations would be plaster your jib/dry wall joins with fuze so in the long run the jib board where the joins are won't crack, but you'll most likely have to pull down the walls and framing and best recommendation would be spray insilation to stop mold best of luck for your future projects don't do a half job it'll bite you back in the long run and end up costing more
Your the only couple I've seen on this videos that show your love for each other
You filled in a storm shelter that looked like it had extreme potential.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Years.☃️🎄🎆
So amazing what the three of you have accomplished in four months! You’re a real inspiration of how hard work pays off! Great job!!
I absolutely love that you not only didn't paint everything white, but you stained the wood instead of painting it. My pet peeve is everything colorless, it's like 'Dude there are literally thousands of variations on non white, pick one.'. Love the color you chose too. Here's to not being like everyone else.
The way the world is going. Everyone needs a homestead. Im going that direction. Nice seeing you all having so much fun while working together.
And me, I just bought a 50 acres 2 days ago.

My respect Jason! You've done amazing work transforming this property! Wow!!!
Get a plastic barrel and install a 3/4 bulkhead adapter and faucet valve. You can hook the pressure washer right to it.
Set up a wood stove inside ,heat and wood/brush disposal
Congratulations 🎈🎈 I year!! It doesn't seem possible.. can't wait to see what the next year brings 😀. Sitting here watching the video it's hard to believe what all you guys have accomplished so quickly in the last few months, keep up the good work
So happy for you guys. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Painting the roof black, no insulation and converting a water tank into a barn are three decisions I do not understand. Looks pretty.
I know you feel so proud to see your dreams coming true, done by your hands. Congratulations!!
I am so excited for you guys! Can I be honest and say I am sad about no insulation. Details, details. You guys are rocking it!
Must be such a satisfying feeling looking back at how you have transformed your property, well done and a great inspiration. 👍

You guys did amazing job at your dream property. Im looking forward to see more of your and Jared vlogs, building new dream homes. Danielle is a great, helpful lady. You guys are amazing people!!!
You should also think about installing CCTV into your property and some security lights to prevents burgulars and poachers from stealing your animals and stop them from stealing your very expensive four wheel drive car and tractor and tools
Wow when you put it out there like that you guys have accomplished a lot can't wait to see what you come up with next
Great job you two have done. I would have loved to do something like that if I were 40 years younger.
Awesome job on the video Jason!! It really is a blessing you and Danielle found each other, and that lil Bubba is a great brother and can join the adventure as well. The three of you feed off each other, it may be cliche', but fate has been dealt. I really enjoy watching all of you, even though at times it's hard to keep up with all the channels. Lol Love ya'll ❤️
I would have insulated. But I dig your skipping drywall mud hack. And you filled in a perfect bay to work on cars.
Inspiring! Great editing too! Jason you really were blessed with many skill sets. The labor of love! I'm so excited to see what's to come. It sure is coming together around there, you three work very well together.

Absolutely awesome. Hi there how are you doing with your family i do hope you’re safe from the Covid?
Jason am sooo happy for you guys, how's your brother? Great acquisition! Note, when cutting wires or rebars with a grinder you won't need to cut them completely but enough you can break with moving it, remember it'll get hot. Then you'll finish it with the grinder. With time you'll get the tool to cut chains and locks and sort of have more manual tools to save the generator for when you absolutely can't use your hands.
For her feet to warm up, the homeless wrap up in paper. Get any if possible soft paper like paper towel or any soft paper tissue, and wrap some around her feet. Keep your shoes dry and she'll warm them up in no time!
I'll keep enjoying your videos!
Happy to see Jared and that he's working hard!
Congrats on your girl bro, the chemistry is beautiful! Much success!
Before any small predator hits your chicks, 1/4" wire mesh is safer against rats. And keep it moving every day, or, consider extending the mesh a foot or so away from the bottom out so they don't dig under your chicken coop/runner.
This land, these projects, the livestock…this is the dream. I’m hoping in a couple years that we’ll be able to find and purchase our land.
That building is an old water treatment building , and the recessed concrete pit was where they monitored the water flow, injected chlorine, etc., all because the discharge line needed to be below ground level.. The first room you renovated was the electrical room. Between my dad & I we have almost 100 years experience in that field of work.
crazy place to try to live in I would have left its as a shed or pulled it down

Would love to see what y’all finished with inside. The water tower has so many potential great ideas you could somehow connect it to the house and make the water tower a huge bedroom or two bedroom place. Also, could turn that into a big hot tub and entertainment area to be in. However, excellent job and wish I had the finances to do this!!
Very cheap way to insulate: place crumble newspaper and leaves to insulate wall and floor ,,this has worked for us in till we was able to insulate.. just an cheap way don't think about to hard just go around collecting newspaper 🤗 u guys did good I'm proud of yall🥰
I'm SOOO inspired!! This IS exactly what my husband and I want to do!! Thank you for sharing ☺️
