    I did the routine in spring. Front lawn performed phenomenally!!!!! Several Neighbors inquired about the front lawn. The backyard however… the lawn pretty much laughed at the weed killer. >75% of the lawn looks like weeds. Big/thick weeds, especially crabgrass. Some weeds died and new grass came in but the weeds continued to overpower the backyard lawn.

    Good to have you back!
    So a few things. Poa is beating my gr…ass (in the back yard - it’s horrible). Two weeks ago, I used the hand spray bottle version of the spectracide weed and grass killer, with some surfactant. It didn’t really kill but turn them brown. I’m not advanced enough to get into mixing. So what now? Do the same thing again?
    Secondly, I have zoysia grass in the front (and mixture in the back). I was thinking of overseeding with Bermuda grass after dethatch and aerating. Is that a good choice?
    Lastly, since zoysia is a running grass (and mine seem to still be green & growing) would dethatching kill it? I know the roots need a resolution. Would plugging the lawn be sufficient? Sorry for the book of questions 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  2 месяца назад +1

      A second application for the poa is completely fine to do. You can overseed your lawn with bermuda grass, but just know bermuda grass is very dominant and will take over the grass. You can dethatch Zoysia grass that's totally fine it won't kill it

    You know, I used annual ryegrass and it's not for home lawn. In my opinion, annual ryegrass is used for farm lands. It's a rough grass and as the name says, annual only one season from my experience Thank God. I had to dig out the annual rye. Do you still want to use it not in the lawn but by the roadside?
    Grass seeds do matter. You tell me how that annual ryegrass looks after it sprouts.
