Really appreciate the effort to bring this to us. I'm one of the folks eagerly waiting for your kayman projects, and likely part of your target demographic: older guy that grew up hot rodding imports that finally has some fun project money.😆
So sick. Makes me want to buy a 996/997 just to buy your kswap kit 😅
Same same
Hopefully you started saving before you typed that msg. $$$$$$
@@mrphiscal just gotta sell a car or 2 😅
So excited, can't wait for a 996 solution. The videos are great, all the info everyone needs and this is the one I've been waiting to see regarding the harnesses.
Im subscribed because Vtech > VarioCam. Great content Nick. 🎉Thanks to Speed academy for introducing me to this channel.
your ecu converter is super neat , well done
Best RUclips series yet
Yes! Power through the rear-engined nonsense so you can get to the good stuff 😀
Can't wait for the Boxster stuff! Woo!
Awesome Job Nick!!
Well done Nick
So excited to see the prototype come through. Thanks for the content. I’m really looking forward to the next vid showing what happens next 🎉🎉
First😊 Keep up the great work!
Love the updates fam!!
How cool is this?! You are really talented man
That’s awesome!! The little “conversion box” could mount where the stock ecu goes, then tap the aluminum bracket/ cover and slap the link ecu there, think there would be room !??
Nice looking solution!
Ever thought about converting the power steering to electric steering via a volvo c30 electric pump?
I usually reverse on some ramps . Gets the car pretty high lol. I have a cup front bumper and lip which sits extremely low so I set up some 2x4’s under the front wheels. Try that out!
I think I have the same cordless ratchet. Can't believe I worked on cars for all those years without one.
I believe seeing how much the nsx are going for it’s easier to build this still have a rear honda power base car , very nice
Rear engine
So much work! Great job! Interested in the Link Can-Bus functionality. What transmissions can be used? tiptronic, manual, or 997.2 with PDK? I am assuming just the manual trans.
To start, we are only supporting the manual transmission cars. Where it gets difficult (when thinking about dumping time into automatic trans development) is that the Cayman/Boxster swap setups are transverse. Meaning, you won't be able to use the OE PDK. So it's a question of whether it's worth it to develop the trans controls at this time when we're going to have to do it completely again for the transverse cars. TLDR: We're probably going to end up supporting the OE PDK, but that won't be available at launch and you'll probably have to opt for the Link G5 vs. G4X but I'll look into that.
I want that car lol build one for me.
Yea good work
Can confirm, would rather work on this than any m9x
Could you make and use a paper gasket for the plenum instead?
Luv it respect
Any idea on awd compatibility with the pdk?
I'm ready to do this. How much is the your kit & when/where can I buy it?
Hello, I have a 1998 996 with a 2007 M97 3.8l engine, with a 996 ECU and I suspect the original wiring harness. Is it possible to replace the wiring harness and install a 997 ECU, reprogram the ECU and immobilizer to make the car run with full power? Currently it starts okay and runs up to 5-6000 rpm, but not much torque and top speed. Greatly appreciate any input.
Regards.
Great work Nick, as always. I was just wondering if the engine swap kit will work on the 996 aswell as the 997?
So the mechanical bits are identical, but the jumper board and wiring harness will need to be different as well as the CAN protocol (which I've already RE'd)
Hey nick could we get a 10th gen si on the channel
Will this work on the 997.2 or will it only work with the .1?? I’d love to do this swap on my carrera s as I am approaching 100k miles.
Awesome conversion. I'm thinking track car, but 911 or Cayman...hum
Does this allow you to retain the stock electronic suspension tuning
What’s the story on the green vc? Lol
Do you plan to sell the short valve cover separately?
The short valve cover is actually already available on his site.
@@williamrori1274 Thanks for the head's up! I'll check it out.
