Thank you for such an informative video. I was cleaning a much smaller grease trap and this certainly helped.

OMG I am so grateful that I don’t have to use this primitive method for servicing the grease traps that I am responsible for! I built a device that allows me to vacuum everything into a recycling tank. It just takes a few minutes, and all I have to clean is the hose.
This video is well done, but this is not best practice - and it just might be worst practice!

Question that I hope I get a response for: Why did you use the colander to separate solid waste but then dump solid waste from the bottom of the trap into the very bucket you attempted to keep it from? I'm probably going to do exactly this, anyhow... I just want to know why I'm doing it because it seems like you made your effort obsolete.

how do you eliminate the odours from grease trap and whats the best way to clean out the filter when there's still bits of food waste in it that is hard to get rid of.

why not use a vacuum to get the grease into a container instead of painfully scooping it out for hours end.
