I have missed you all so much! Sorry for the long absence. I wanted to talk about picking your name and some helpful tips I used along the way for picking a name that has meaning to you. I will see you all in the next video very soon!

When I transitioned I had a talk with my Mom. She, thank goodness, was so supportive! We talked about what my new name was going to be and I said a couple, but then I asked her what she would have named me if I was going to be a biological girl at birth. She said Lori for the first name and Michelle for the middle name. So I said, that was perfect! Lori is my first name now, and Michelle is my last name.
She was! It just made everything feel right! I really liked your story too with yours.
Hey Chloe, well for me I'm planning on changing my name to Ramona. It's sounds kinda like I'm not trying but the story behind it is when I was 17 I used to do Taekwondo very heavy. And I was almost a black belt at that time so my school asked everyone to train a lower belt student for sparring for there next belt test. Well my sensei picked the students we'll be training and he gave me a young girl named Ramona and he jokingly said well you guys are the Ramones now like the old rock band lol. So my first day training her I find that she's terribly timid and actually afraid to fight people. Which I understood cuz I was pretty much the same way so we kind of connected and we were kind of built the same we're kind of short and wide and in reality Taekwondo is actually not very good for us so I taught her boxing. Because for people are height it's best to get very close and just hammer away at people. So we bonded a lot through our training and she ended up passing her test and beat 3 boys. Tell this day I'm still proud of her. And when my friends asked me what I wanted to be named as I told them Ramona Ray Rodriguez in honor of her❤. Oh goodness , it took me sooo long to choose a name . It was a friend in Australia who suggested Azara . There was a car named it but I did deep research .
Azarah is found in Persian culture but it's far older than that and it's found in old Hebrew .
I didn't realise till later that my chosen name means ' Scarlett ' in Persian ......but in Old Hebrew it was the name of the entrance and courtyard around the Alter .
I used to have both grandfather's names as my middle names but switched now to my grandmother's names .
Oh ! And Azarah is derived from the Arc Angel Azrael . I am also part Jewish German ( Wagner) and I'm contemplating making it my last name .

Personally I wanted a name that was unique to myself. So I did both the first and last name. Luckily my family is being very supportive of me. However I've made no demands that they honor the name when we interact.

I am trying to watch as many videos as possible about name changes because I currently have one friend who is struggling so much to find his new name. It is really causing him severe anxiety and depression.
When I came out as trans two years ago, I didn't take long to decide on my new name. I picked Daria because it was as far from my deadname as I could think of while not being too common. If I'd been born a cis girl, my mom would have named me Jennifer. There's too many Jennifers in the world but not very many Darias. If I encounter another Daria, I already have the following nicknames lined up to distinguish myself from her: Dar Dar Binks, Scarface, Yung Deezy, Her Dar-ness, and La Dariana. I started HRT almost a year ago and this past April, I legally changed my name. I had a middle name at birth but dropped it when I did the name change. My dad kept begging me to keep my middle name (it was his dad's childhood nickname) but I insisted on dropping it altogether. In June, I had my name and gender marker changed on my Social Security, ID, voter registration, and Medicaid cards.
really nice video. my best friend Alayna had to fight to get her name changed to what she wanted. one of the sweetest ladies I know.
I chose the name Lilith and the middle name I chose was Katherina.
My full name is now Lilith Katherina Lyth.
