Props also,to the woman who originally found the kitten... being able to recognize the lack of skills when it comes to take care of a cat that little,is something that not many are able to do
Tears of joy are running down my cheeks. I rescued a tiny, gray furred kitten in an abandoned apartment that was below mine. In the middle of the night, back in 1980, the renter of the suite below mine, just up and left. He and his girlfriend were about to be evicted, and to avoid paying the money they owed, they just split and left most of their belongings behind, and their brand new kitten. I wasn't aware they had a kitten, but after a day or so I could hear a cat crying, (through) the floorboards of my suite. I couldn't reach our landlord, so I found that their bathroom window, wasn't locked. I took one of my bath towels, and pushed it through the window, and dangled it down, into the bathtub, below. I called for the kitten to grab onto it, and she quickly figured out I was trying to help her. I pulled her out, and brought her up to my suite, where I lived with my cat. My girlfriend and I kept her, and we named her Gracie. She lived with us until she (passed) at age 19.
@@lisabelle7553She was something special,...we think she was a (runt),...she was tiny and never become a large cat. Friends have told us they think she was a special breed,...not sure what a Russian blue is. She was an all gray colored cat.
I also acquired a cat through a Starbucks drive through. I named him Venti. I first saw him in a box of kittens inside a car while working the drive through as a barista in 2006. The customer brought Venti back when my shift was over so I could take him home. We had almost 17 awesome years together when he went to the rainbow bridge last year. Love you Vent ❤
This reminds me of a situation I was in many years ago. I had a mamma cat who had 5 kittens and then became quite ill with a virus. The vet said I needed to keep them separated for a few weeks but warned me I might lose the kittens. I figured out formula and had to bottle feed all 5 throughout the day and night. Everyone pulled through, including Mamma, but I have never been so exhausted in my life. Nice to see a grown man emotional over a tiny kitty. I get it man. I am the same way.
Reminds me of a time when one of my cats found a baby pigeon that fell out of its nest. He didn't eat it. He very carefully brought it back and gave it to me. Then I had to spend a good 2 weeks not sleeping well due to having to constantly feed and take care of this bird. All while the cat that brought him in watched over us very closely. We also had a pregnant female cat at the time who was very against the idea but she warmed up to the pidgie. Eventually, I was able to find someone to look after the pigeon because it could never be released but not before all of the kittens were born and the Pigeon even got involved in looking after them. Cats are weird animals. We now have several cats that will never harm a bird. But they'll happily kill every mouse and spider that appears.
We all love Clover, obviously. But isn't Ryan just lovely! I understand exactly why his eyes were tearing that way. Sometimes something occurs and your response isn't intellectual, but visceral. You react with your heart, or soul. The same thing can happen if you hear a particular bit of music, or see a beautiful landscape. And tears come to your eyes. Not sad tears, not exactly "tears of joy", but because you are feeling something for which there isn't really a name. It was wonderful seeing Ryan responding that way. Clover is great name. This woman has done a great job raising everyone in her family. Ryan is a prize. She should be really proud.
There's a cat at my workplace I'm trying to get, he seems absolutely friendly for a stray, but is still skittish. I named him Expresso because he looks like my kitten Latte. They are both adorable and talkative. Expresso finally let me touch him yesterday! Even though it was a very brief touch, it showed progress that he is starting to trust me
