- I'm getting ready for the 2023 - 2024 homeschool year and that always begins with cleaning & organization! Come with me as I tackle my homeschool room that hasn't been attended to since the end of the last homeschool year. (I'm still a little bit tired from the last school year!! Anybody else? 😜)

Thank you!! Yes, I’ve tried to prioritize them and my own “self-care” this summer. That means rest from “work.” One the school year starts up and we’re into more of a routine again, I’m sure I’ll be back to weekly videos again. I often find summer busier than the school year simply bc the business is a lot of “projects!” And they’re harder to estimate the time needed without sacrificing the lazy days of summer as well.

Yes!!! The only catch is remembering you threw things IN the junk drawers or the closet. I keep opening my coat closet this week and seeing my high schoolers stack of stuff! 😂😂😂”oh yeah! I need to do something with that!” Out of sight, out of mind! 😜

I was that little girl! I was considered the "dirtiest" kid in the neighborhood in the 80s-90s lol. I PLAYED HARD. We started school July 17th because the days have been sooo hot. I figured, we might as well start. Anyway, you did good getting everything done!

Somehow I missed this!!! I bought that forensic course textbook for myself! It is fascinating! Thank you for some Sunday afternoon entertainment. Never a dull moment in your videos 😂. The struggle has been real this yr getting ready for the new school year 😅

I’m sooo excited about forensic Science! I’m with you!! I’d love to be able to learn along with my son but I’m doing so much WITH everybody this year, we’ll see how it goes. Mama only has so many hours in a day! 😂But so glad I didn’t purchase all our curriculum in the spring like I’m sometimes tempted to do bc they came out with in June right? Or maybe that’s just when I saw it.
I thought maybe this science could spark an interest in my son. He still doesn’t know exactly what he’s interested in. CSI stuff would be cool, though!!
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan it is a new course. I do think it released sometime this summer! I would love to know his thoughts on it as he goes through it. I would love to do the hands on stuff but no time haha. He’s going to have a great yr with this course!

Yes, my oldest children have been just like your son and daughter when it comes to clothing and items. My oldest son has always been very careful and then there are my girls 🤷♀️ My youngest son seems to be a more typical boy.
That’s so funny how that happens! I’d always heard that boys were rough. Probably most are. Just like not every girl is prim and proper! 😜😂
I am tackling my school room today also. I have been enjoying your videos, you are so relatable! Whenever you are in the market for a printer again I love my ecotank, 1500 copies before filling my black ink and color is 1/2 way and will only be like $40 to refill when I do finally run out.
I have an Ecotank! That’s what my Instagram stories were about. It’s a while saga. But ultimately since I also have an HP, I compared and decided the HO quality of printing was much better. So when I print in color like curriculum where images may be important, I’m using my HP. For bulk printing , especially when it’s just black and white papers or worksheets, then I use my Ecotank. 😉

The ink is a real thing. I was lucky and found somebody on mercari selling the expensive xl version of my ink for next to nothing. She got a new printer. I told my husband we should be able to write off the ink for school expenses. Ha! We school year round so I don’t feel as much pressure but always feel like it is a full time job to plan.
That’s true! I told my hubs to get me a 500 page subscription but after August to drop it back down to 15 or 30 pages bc I also have an Ecotank printer. But the HP quality of images is so much better. So I’m only using it to print the really special things!!! Like my planner and my unit studies with pretty pictures. 😜
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan I am just using my little canon printer for now. It has done a good job. Maybe one day I will get all fancy.
I dont have a homeschool room. We use the diningroom table, but i have an area we keep our homeschool stuff and i should probably clean it up. Lol. Your dog is too funny. I wanted to read the brave learner ..still havent got it yet. Lol. I will add it to my list. Love your vids!

Wouldn’t that be awesome to have a maid!?!? I thought by the time my kids were older, they’d all of the sudden be asking, “mom…what can I do today to relieve the load of home maintenance you carry?” No such luck….. yet! I’m still holdin’ out hope!
(Missed your videos! Hope your summer is been fun.) I’m not sure if I already commented but this is inspiring me. I am moving to our new home at the end of the month (3 blocks away ha!) and I need all the motivation I can get TO PACK! So I guess I’ll watch this video from the end…to beginning 😅

I have these plastic divider things from temu I feel like you would really like! I wish I could show you, but they are essentially the same shape as those black and white ones, but plastic, and on one piece there’s 4 sections. And then they come in different colors. I had bought one for like $12, which was the cheapest I could find anywhere but then they went down to like 5.99 and I bought 3 more! Love them! They also fit inside the top of the rolly carts from Michael’s.
I always see the coolest looking things on the TEMU advertisements but I’ve never bought anything. (I’m a bit of a skeptic….why is all this cute stuff sooooo cheap???? 😜 there’s got to be a catch!)
So it’s like 4 magazine files in one? Is that what you’re describing?
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan yes pretty much! One piece, but like 4 magazine holders. I now have 5 of them, and use one for each kid, and 2 for myself. haha

Awe!!!! Bella has a Cavachon friend! And they do look a lot alike, but she is a Shichon/Zuchon (I think she’s actually going to be an official breed soon and I can’t remember the name). But half Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise. 😉
My boys hate science and my oldest daughter does it independently and I’ve not started teaching science with my kindergartener!!! We have another year of kindergarten before she starts 1st grade!!! I have 1 tomboy and she’s my older daughter!!! I love your idea for science!!! I’ve not bought anything for science my boys as we have plenty of science todo!!! I buy pdfs so we have tons on my computer!!! I love the idea of a task list!!! I guess ppl still need advice and recipes when they have been married for a couple of years!!! The room is mega organised and it takes time to organise!!!

Thank you!! 🥰 I’m fortunate to have my dining room be able to double. Although last year, we did most of the school in the kitchen! For real….stuff was stored in here, but we always grabbed what we needed and went to the kitchen instead! You can homeschool anywhere. Where do you do it?
This is good motivation. Our school room pretty much looks like it did on the last day of school - except the random piles of curriculum I've bought but not put away because I need to clean out the old stuff first. LOL.

And I have an HP Ink subscription and when I know I'm fixing to print a whole whole lot of stuff - like August - there is a way to go to the website and request more ink be sent before your printer tells them to. Running out of ink right when I'm in the middle of getting stuff done would be very upsetting.
That’s a great tip about the ink!!! I didn’t know that. (Although it wouldn’t have helped me HERE bc we upped our subscription from 15 prints to 500 just for 1 month! Lol! And I used it all the same day we upped it. Lol!) I use my Ecotank from most of my printing. But I’m definitely going to remember that for next year!
Ecotank! I print thousands of pages before needing fresh ink, and the ink only costs about $40 for both black and color bottles.
Yep! I have one. The quality of it is not as vibrant as the HP so when I want clear crisp images or the blackest black….I’ve decided to use my HP. For bulk when the color doesn’t matter as much, I use my eco tank. 😜
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan Print quality really does vary between all the different models. Mine prints beautifully, if I remember to adjust all the right settings. I had an HP, but the quality was way worse than my Epson and the ink was incredibly expensive.

You should try the ONE protein bars too, I try to keep one in my purse for being on the go but not wanting to eat fast food.
I’ve tried ONE bars. They aren’t bad. But I couldn’t eat them daily and I almost eat clean bars daily. 😜
My favorite one bar is the coconut almond one. It’s almost like an almond joy!
I feel super behind in getting our homeschool space clean & organized! Maybe if I film it I will be more likely to do it hahaha. And YES my middle child ruins every piece of clothing bc she is my wild child. Wild and free 😂

There is definitely an accountability that comes with RUclips. But filming also makes it take longer bc you have to worry about the camera and angles, etc.

Where is your art cart from? Love it!
I got it at Home Goods. It’s definitely cute, but I will say the bottom shelves do not have as much space in between them as other carts. So it’s a little more challenging to figure out what to put on them. But style it has! 😉
Ikea is always discontinuing the best stuff. I have the same cupboard as you and I went to get the matching buffet, but they disconnected the line. 😮💨

Seriously! They just have to keep updating but man….if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Obviously the cube shelves must be so popular they keep making them. But they discontinued the large one I have in my living room which is a 5x5. I have a 4x4 and it’s great. But in a large space, the 5x5 is necessary!!
Anyway….you’re right. Every place discontinues MY favorite things!! Restaurants too! 😭

Hey Rachel! I’m looking for your video where you discuss the pros and cons of your printers. The Epson vs HP…think it was one of your planning videos, but I can’t find it 😬I’m thinking about getting an Epson so I can print TGTB curriculums and just LOTS of printing in general.

😂😂😂I did want to say, “Peace out!” But I’ve been doing that ALL summer! 😂 it was time to get some stuff done bc also…if I don’t have a plan ready to go with weeks to spare before school, I’ll start to REALLY feel stress. I know myself.
We still enjoyed ourselves at the pool! We went for about 2 hours and went out for pizza afterwards! It was all good!

I've been doing our room in stages - it gets so overwhelming! We've started school, but I just go through stuff in small stages - LOL.
If that’s what works for you, that’s what you should do! I wish I could plan in smaller chunks bc then that 6 weeks on and 1 week break thing would be more appealing! But there’s no way i could survive without a summer break to do it all!!
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan That's the beauty of it! We can all do it the way that works best for us! We do the 6 weeks on, 1 week off, BUT we still take a long summer break!
This came right on time, I’m doing the exact same thing as I type this! And I too am waiting on ink and I’ve printed way beyond my “subscription” 😂
😂oh the irony!! I did figure that my color ink is what ran out. So when I went to make a black and white copy, it worked. I’m wondering how many of those I can squeeze in bc it’s been about a week and still no ink on my doorstep! 😁 have you experienced this before? Do you know how long it takes when it runs out?
@@OurHOMEschoolPlan Typically it takes about 10 business days… I think the fastest I’ve gotten it was in 7.. I’m on day 5 so I’m patiently waiting too 🤞🏽
