I enjoy your videos from how you share your reactions to and coping with the unexpected problems to your interactions with the people helping you complete the work. well done.
"I guess I don't have to worry about the noise." LMAO - so true. It was fascinating how the new drive was configured to meet the neighboring drive 'at the garage corner'
Hey Mr Rathburn Awesome work! That turned amazing. You really put that Kubota through its paces. I have in my contacts that the price I’m quoting is for breaking out up to 5” thick concrete. Then I have additional .40 up to 7” and .95 up to 9”. And anything thicker than 9” has to be renegotiated. I thought kind of like you, “win some- lose some” , and I think I did it that because I wanted to keep my word. Anyway, maybe this will help you. I believe you’re a good businessman, I wish you not but great success. Thank you for the video, see you next. 👍
Thanks! Yes a curb would've been a good call for stopping a car. The homeowner didn't want to look of a curb so I was able to pitch it enough to keep the water off the neighbors driveway.
Great video, really been enjoying all your jobs. Did the neighbor not mind all those kickers and screws through his blacktop? I’m really curious to see how the thick side looked after stripping the plywood and finishing it, was hoping to see you doing the cuts and the finished product. Is it hard to get workers or do you like having only a small crew? Much nicer payday for you that way. 👍
Thanks man! The neighbors were very understanding and I patched all of the tapcon holes after we finished up. And yes, having a big crew makes it easier on the body but payroll and scheduling can be very stressful when you're at the in-between size
Thanks man! It's fine once she's going but they have an annoying auto brake on them to stop from rolling backwards. Any time you're stopped and accelerate you have to almost gas it through the brake it feels like. Looking into getting that removed if possible
Nothing in construction is ever to boring to record and show, what’s boring to you might not be for others, maybe next time film it and show it, good job by the way👊
I like how you pay your workers to just stand up with a broom on their hands and do nothing or sweep for no reason after every trip to the dump truck instead of idk, setting forms. Victory would've had half of it poured already.
That is so there’s not a stone on the approach when I drive over it- scratching the existing concrete. And yes but Ryan also has at least 3 “finishers”
When it comes to concrete, you can't avoid cracks entirely, but wire mesh reinforcement will help hold the material together when they do occur. Also, it will help evenly distribute the weight of cars on your driveway. The added strength of steel is especially crucial if your subgrade isn't up to par.
Where the boss works the hardest, love your videos!!

Thanks man! Yes I’m sure you will
Them scribers jumping up.Told ya they like to see the boss on the job lol
😂👷🏼♀️
Nice job,😊
Great job as always 💪💪surprised they didn’t have you do a curb to stop a car going off the edge and to keep water off the neighbors driveway

Nice driveway 💪🏾
Thanks!
Where's the rebarb?
idk but that's 25 to life w/o rebar

@@RathburnContractingThanks for answering, I totally understand what you’re saying. Wish you all the best with the business and family. 👍
Good job
very nice work, how does that chevy do pulling the skid loader

Best wife ever
That elevation difference between the two driveways seems very wonky.... and is even a saftey issue if a vehicle drives off the edge.
Yes it certainly is. I guess they didn’t care as much back in the day haha
Nothing in construction is ever to boring to record and show, what’s boring to you might not be for others, maybe next time film it and show it, good job by the way👊
Very true! Thanks for the input man
What does that red star sign you have on your barn mean? Seen it every now and then on barns. Btw, new sub from Sweden. Good work!
Just a “farmhouse decoration” haha. No significance that I’m aware of. Welcome!
hi, a easy way to measure the thickness of the concrete ist to drill a hole.
Is that a power trowel on a stick?? I need that
Yes sir. I believe it’s LR brand. Worth every dollar
Oh shit you have a whole semi to rip out driveways nice
Subcontracted out, but yes
What are they doing holding up that plastic while you are breaking up the concrete with your concrete breaker?
Just a question not being rude
Stopping little chips from flying all over. I’ve had it scratch cars before! Good question though haha probably looked random
Kind of self explanatory! SMH
Why was it so thick? Does the guy own a semi?
Just the thickened edge was on the right, the rest of the driveway was only 4-4.5”

Where's the mesh.
Your driveways must Crack everywhere.no reinforcement
Where’s you’re wire mesh. Concrete is going to crack
It’s called evaporation retardant, water reducer, fiber-mesh, 6” gravel base, sawcut 7 hours after placement and sealed. Not going to crack.
ahhh man i really wanted to see the saw cuts being done
Definitely a lady's touch is also cool
is chelsea better at concrete then REARic & fransico of victory?
There's only one way to find out haha
definitely not as lazy and careless I can tell you that much 😂
