I’m I the only one that feels so satisfied watching this video. I believe it is due to the way the video is shot…and also the mixing and recording of the audio. How I wish that this video is longer. The best performance ever recorded for this great band Opeth in 2023. ❤❤❤❤
I miss Mikaels growls. I still enjoy listening to the band and think they’re geniuses. But Mikael has such a good growl and it’s a shame we can’t hear it as much
tbh I was also a Lopez fan boy. After seeing Opeth live twice with Axe, I started taken a shine to him. No offense to this drummer and maybe because he was new here, but he is not playing all the parts. Axe was doing lots more on the ride and adding great fills etc. For me Lopez was untouchable in terms of feel for Opeth
He is not lagging, they are all playing the right tempo together. What you lack is the feel of the previous drummer who were part of the band that came with and learned the right feel that suits the music. Gene hoglan is not always free.. whqt can you do
It's not out of tempo, but he is still lacking the right feel for this, which is perfectly normal. It's hard to naturally feel AND play most of Opeth's songs. Probably still looking for his place and voice in the band. Give it time
Sami Karppinen. he was the old drummer's tech and was standing in so they could finish the tour. since then they've gotten Waltteri Väyrynen who has been absolutely crushing it.
Am I the only Swede who doesn't understand what he's singing during the Swedish song? Sounds like a made up language or something. "Ka no bo tak ba do gaaa!" etc.
My 2 cents about Opeth. Don't get me wrong...love the band, listened to them more than I can remember BUT. I don't think their stuff is made for liveshows.
@@alanrabelo8150 They changed mainly because the lead singer didn't really want to do the growls anymore. They dont really make that type of music now, but they still perform their old songs with growls and he's not *great* at it anymore, but the songs are still sick as fuck.
Even though the rest of the band performs at their peak, it sounds so bad and ungroovy with this drummer. He plays way too laid back and the snare is tuned too high...
