Looking forward to seeing what this day has in store. Blimey, that was a storm and a half. We love that animal hide, could quite happily sit in there with a beer or 3. That elephant is incredible. Good that they feed you well. Glad Ben was a good guide, mad about the speed limit unless you see an animal of interest. It must be amazing to see all of these so close up. The rhino is a big chap. Cool you saw the lions. Those elephants are incredible. Leopard tortoise 😂. Wow that actual leopard was stunning. Shame you didn’t see the buffalo but the hippo’s were cool. The evening meal looked great and good you managed to sleep. What a fab day, looking forward forward to the next one x
That hide was a great spot for a beer ! Watching the wildlife and the stars ..So amazing seeing the wildlife .. A very special place ..4 out of 5 is 80% and we’ll take that .. Thanks as always guys
To be honest i was a bit apprehensive about this trip when my wife booked it as its so far out of our comfort zone but thanks to your posts im really looking forward to it now, bring on jan 20th!! Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to post.
Thank you - That’s most kind of you …It’s a long journey to get there but definitely worth it. You’ll have an amazing time and if you get Collen as a guide, please say hi from us !
Hi and Thanks for watching - We are pretty sure you’ll have an amazing holiday. As for optional trips we did both the Tribal Night and Pilanesberg National Park. Both were amazing and we’d recommend them. The resort will try and sell you the complete package of optional excursions explaining that you’ll get a discount if you do. This is quite expensive and is £350 pp .. Our two were enough for us and did give us down time in what was a really hectic week..We also saved money overall .. in terms of what we missed out on .. Feedback from others on the night safari was mediocre and the Kaingo Game Drive was pretty favourable .. It’s really a case of what you really want to get out of the week. Our time on our own walking in the reserve was really enjoyable but that’s not for everyone.. for sure …especially when you know leopard 🐆 do come into the reserve from time to time. .. We saw 4 of the big 5 and missed Buffalo .. Those who did Kaingo saw Buffalo .. We were not too miffed as we’d seen them in Alaska .. But if you’ve never seen them then Kaingo maybe something you choose and in that case the package is probably the better value deal. Hope this helps
@CooksExplore thank you for this info I am only taking rand with me. What do you tip the driver on each trip please. Also what was the price of your magnet and cap from their shop. Do they sell snowglobes as my daughter wants one lol.
@ - Although you’ll have a main guide for the week we had other drivers and guides on specific drives - There are guidelines for tipping in the resort manual but the guides asked to be tipped in person .. The resort only deals in Euros so if you pay/tip by card it will be Euros - 10-20 Euros per drive is what most people recommend and we stuck to that … You can tip chefs, cleaners and bar staff in person too - Grounds staff and maintenance we just added gratuities to our final bill . In person tips in Rand or Euros were gratefully received..The whole issue of tipping does inflate the overall holiday cost and this is something us Brits do occasionally struggle with. The shop is expensive but is the only shop within an hours drive .. hat and magnet came to 24 euro plus Vat.. can’t comment on snow globes - don’t recall seeing any but we weren’t looking for them to be honest .. Hope this helps
@ - Thank you - Most kind .. we have 5 more VLOGS to post and also a narrated safari holiday story video to post .. The latter won’t be until Feb as we are in South America in January..Will post what I can as soon as I am able to - Thank you again
