I think it's more useful to know bigger chords like 7th chords over diminished and augmented. I use diminished sometimes but augmented chords sound icky
This is a game changer for me… the graphic has unlocked my fear of the circle of notes 🎉 & it doesn’t seem so far away now… triangles n squares eh… who knew 🎉🎉
I was a guitarist for almost 20 years before encountered an augmented chord lol. Even as a very experienced musician, this video was a bit much to follow
That goes right over my head 😂 I no minor chords major chords scales but diminished ect no? Lol Going up semi tone full tone! To playing natural minor scales but when u go into all this intervals diagrams wow no idea buddy
And why are album 💿 are viewed as one big story? IAMLXGEND 8 months ago It is a cohesive collection of songs used to tell a bigger theme or project an overall vibe. Think of an album as a book. And your songs as chapters. Every book has chapters. Every album has songs. Each chapter is different. Each song is different. But the collection of chapters (the collection of songs) is what tells the full story of the book (of the album). Every song has a story. Some albums are just a collection of songs without the intention of telling the bigger story. Some albums are designed to tell a bigger story. Sequencing might be only about the way the music flows, but if the album tells a story than sequencing can do that too. Nathan Eswine 5 months ago I think artists try to sequence their albums in a way they feel best captures the journey they want a listener to go through. Nowadays, this isn’t as popular... kind of feels like some artists just try to pack single after single back to back for 10-12 songs. But at its core, album sequencing can help drive home the main theme of the album. Similar to the chapters of a book 👊🏻. To me, it does still count as one whole story, even if there’s no segue between tracks. I think it’s just an artistic choice to use segues. I think even if the songs start and stop on their own, they can still point back to the big theme of the album 👍. Usually the songs on an album are the result of an artist’s creations during a season of life. This means the songs can all speak to a similar set of themes, ideas and topics. So the aim of an album name is to try and sum up the big story/concept that all the songs pull from when they were written. It’s not always like these, especially today. But traditionally, an album is like a “book” with the songs inside being like “chapters.
You've got a talent for confusing the c*^p out of anyone in their early stages/years of playing. You don't have to complicate it so much. That can come in time. Just get people playing the stuff. And what's with all the colored dots on your fretboard !!
@@DiegoKeaneMusic I've been playing guitar for 40 years, and this video confused the crap out of me, and I know this stuff. If someone wants to just start playing guitar, they don't need to bother about any of that. Detailed music theory can come later, when you've got the hunger for it. In the mean time the best thing is to just get people playing. Confusing them with stuff will only put them off. Guitar is not that difficult to learn if you apply yourself, and silly little things like labels on the fretboard interfere with the learning process.
This is a terrible way to structure education. You're showing this immensely overstimulating colourful paur of complex charts with circle of fifths and the nature of barre chords... to explain the basic chords? To a beginner, this would be overwhelmingly chaotic, and the relationship between the distances on the circle of fifths is just massively unnecessary for beginners. I just can't fathom, as a music teacher, how this would be an effective approach. by the time you've learnt all this extra detail, you would have already learnt chords years ago. You teach major and minor in the first few weeks, diminished a bit later, and because augmented is not really in any key and so pretty rare and not much functional application compared to the others, much later. Who is this even targeted at, seriously?
Really great info. Just had to watch it 15 times to sink in
that’s a quarter of the amount I play the pieces I’m learning so not so bad. There’s joy in repetition
As a songwriter the diminished chord takes my music to a whole level
Awesome presentation of the concept. Thanks!
It's cool how concise this short can be in less than a minute.
Its videos like these that make me truly appreciate the mathematics behind guitar chord structure and music theory.
Thank you for your clarity
Wow, actually useful shorts. Great video and breathe of fresh air to be honest
The absolute best way this has been explained to me. Sincerely, thank you.
I found your video at the perfect time! Must learn my theory!

I thought a Zelda ocarina of time chest was being opened for part of the video
Very nice information.
I love the double minor ° and double major +
YOU DO IT TO YOURSELF
Okay, okay, I think I got it... So... what you're holding is a guitar...
I never really noticed how dissonant augmented chords sound.
I guess Sus chords aren’t as important, but they dooo add that nice pull to the tonic of a chord progression. Sometimes it helps to be a little SUSSY
Love a sus and also a 7
There are also 5 suspended chords (sus2, sus4, phrygian, lydian, locrian and flat5)
Great content.
How did you figure that out that is wow
Good job❤
It started as a simple concept with a technical explanation that was unnecessary. How do these four chords explain all of the other chords in music?
Assuming the major chord is meant to be a C chord but the diagram shows a C/G instead, as the low e string should be muted for that C chord shape.
Where did you get those stickers for fretboard
Understood everything first time thru. I had a alert come thru, went back, and knew. I knew of the 4, but geez, now it's obvious. Now I'm God.
instant subscription from my side
where can i find ur guitar learn things?
I was a guitarist for almost 20 years before encountered an augmented chord lol.
Even as a very experienced musician, this video was a bit much to follow
Thanks but I need to save this
I feel like referign to the fifth as a third will hindrance learners that still don't understand the parts of a chord
I want to study from this metodology. Where??
A whole lot of information is in a few easily understandable sentences.
🙏🏽
That goes right over my head 😂 I no minor chords major chords scales but diminished ect no? Lol

Sus chords suspended cry

@@DiegoKeaneMusic why are you sending me this link ?
@@brin57 This long list of traditional music symbols seems like a more confusing alternative.

Isn't that just Sephoroth's theme in Final Fantasy 7? 😂
And this is why people give up on your chair because they don't understand that foreign language
The man rush thru the info...no good teacher does that🤷♂️
Its Not really true
sus is also useful
Ok.
What? Major Paine is Here?
I coint doits gutair saime thing I now

If you know everything why don't you write hit songs like Billie Elish
This guy like to flex that he knows stuff. Never trust anyone with colored dots all over the fretboard. He'll just confuse the shit out of you !!
What?..lol
Hey, honestly i dont think this is a helpful lesson for anyone.
you cut your own hair?
Why don’t you play something interesting?
