  • Barn Find 1966 Jaguar Mark 2 3.4 Litre - Hidden For 45 Years
You know you have taken on a BIG project when even your 6 year old granddaughter says it’s a scrap... But even that didn’t stop Kevin Brown from bringing this Jaguar back from dead after it had sat in a barn for 45 years. And now he can’t get his granddaughter off the back seats of this beautiful classic!
Special Thanks to Kevin's good friend Ian Costello who helped with welding jobs required over 4 year restoration period and never charged a penny from Kevin.
Also big Thanks to Paul from Teesside Motor Factors who did an amazing engine rebuild for Jaguar Mk2 and provided superb customer service.
    www.teessidemotorfactors.co.uk/
And finally Kevin would like to thank Kevin Emery from David Manners Birmingham who supplied all the technical help support and parts needed for restoration project. Kevin Emery went above and beyond when restoration project stumbled upon a problem and always found a solution. He is a star!

    Facebook: / davidmannersgroup
    RUclips: / davidmannersgroup
Kevin also would like to thank "Hand Built Cars" team for taking the time to come and see him and do a review on the car. When people take an interest in his project it makes the hard work over 4 years worthwhile for Kevin.

Jaguars are perhaps the world's best designed cars of all times! Granted that the beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder and the rest of that and all depends of a perspective but I hardly believe that in today's world, driven by bottom line and quotas we will ever see more of beautiful "rolling Art" created such as this, probably one of most stunningly designed examples of Jaguar, seconded only by E-Type, SS-100, XJ-8 (2003-2009 and the best car ever made) to name a few! My compliments to those, like Gentleman featured in short film (there are really TWO heroes and veterans), who take time to save those classic cars and give them a deserving second life! Simply wonderful! Thank you for all your hard work - the Jag and the Man!

this tribute is for H,B,Cars i met the young man at the Swainby car show last summer when he was praising the restoration on my mk2 jaguar he asked if he could do a video story on my car i gave him my tel no and parted i did not expect to hear from him again as he lived some 150 mile from me some months passed and and he called me he arranged to come an see me it was a glorious day and arrived at 9am having been on the road since 6am thats dedication he was there all day and had a 3 hour drive home at no cost to me for a young man with so much passion for cars of all types is something else the video is 15 mins long it took him over two months to edit ad compile it into the finished video that was first aired on the 10 jan 2020 since then over 47,000 peole have viewed my restoration story i went to 4 car shows last year and about 10,000 people at most veiwed my car butin just 4 weeks due to H,B, Cars quality production more people have had a chance to see it and there has been a lot of kind commets and i i appreciate everyone of them know my other reason for writting this is the struggle H,B,Cars is having trying to get monetrised by youtube i do not understand the meaning of any of this but i want people to subscibe to this channel i thought subsribe meant i had to pay till my daughter explained it cost nothing i offered H,B,Cars some money to cover there expenses once i had viewed the video and the young man refused to take it he must have a real passio in what he does and the quality of his work thank you H,B,Cars i really do appreciate putting my story out there for everyone to see please support H,B,Cars this includes :YOU: youtube

Brilliant video. Interesting that like many restorations this is better than new. I had Jags of this era from new, although never a Mark 2. I only remember seeing one Jag in this colour back in the day, and you seldom saw wire wheels, especially chrome wires, which were hugely expensive. Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be!

That car is gorgeous! Well done you! And all the people who mucked in! When we had the oil crisis many years ago, we had a 3.8 in British Racing Green that had been raced at Oulton Park, and yes, it would do 150 mph! As you watched the fuel gauge go down rather rapidly! My dad only tried it once! At the same time, we had a 420G, a Mk10 and another 3.4 in Pearl Grey! I think we paid no more than £200 for any of them! People were giving them away or scrapping them! Sad! Hindsight eh! Ah well! Congratulations on your restore!

That’s how I ended up so many times with a flat battery. Sold mine years ago when the price of petrol rocketed . Fantastic car mate. I pig of a job to change the starter motor though. Yes me and my mates raced a Mercedes, we were neck and neck at 130 mph, I put my foot to the floor, we went to 134 mph, left the Mercedes and when he was about 50 yards behind us he suddenly belched out loads of smoke.
