⌧ If your hair is not lightened to the right shade, putting cooling violet over the hair will only turn it ash brown! Make sure your hair light is enough to get grey/silver hair!

⌦Because the audio in the video is louder than my voice recording, I have listed the steps I took to achieve this.
1. Mix 1 full bottle of wella050 with 2.8oz of 20vol developer(I estimated 3oz)
2. Apply mixture to dry hair in sections for good saturation.
3. Allow toner to be in hair for 20-30minutes. We left it on for 30minutes in the video.
4. Rinse, shampoo, and condition.
5. Dry and style as desired!

The thing that I really don't like about wella toners is that they have a lot of ammonia in them, they smell so strong when you're applying them and can leave bleached hair feeling very compromised. Your hair has to be very light with no warm tones left in it for these toners to work. Otherwise, you're still gonna see a lot of unflattering warm tones contrasting with the gray.
I was surprised this worked, 050 is an additive that is meant to be used with a toner such as t18 and a developer. But it looked like it came out well though.

If your doing all over color with a toner or color. You dont have to do thin strand application. Its a waste of time. As long as you apply it on thin strips of hair and mix it in by hand
I have grey hair but going to go silver grey so I'm going to use wella 050 and 30 volume developer 👵👵👵👵 Hopefully I get it 😁 . Thanks for the video that way I know When I want to do it again grey I can use this tutorial .....

Yeah mine is really grayish blue...I used 1 t14 and one 050... it is more blue-ish silver. I suppose it will fade.

1. I never bleach my hair ever but I do have medium to strong orange hair result of previous hair coloring and I'm wondering it your step above will help in my case and finally I'll get rid of the orange hair.
2- can I add shampoo to the Mixture and wash my hair like the method the professional saloons following these days?
Jehad Hassan bc your base isn’t the right shade, the 050 cooling violet toner won’t turn gray/silver. You can use a different toner to tone your hair if that’s what you’re looking for. If you want to achieve a gray/silver color unfortunately you’ll have to go lighter. P.s, yes I have tried and put the 050 toner on my prelightened hair and it turned to a light ashy brown bc my hair wasn’t light enough.
To answer your second question, you can do a bleach wash where you add shampoo to bleach to lessen damage to achieve a lighter hair color but do note that it procedure won’t get you very light.

3:04 MFW i watched you mix developer with a color ADDITIVE(050 is kind of like a booster used to add more violet tones to any color toner, but it does not need developer, you just add it to any developer/toner mixture for that extra violet tone to help you get closer to silver, that means using the developer probably just caused unneeded damage)...I know you didn't ask for advice but it does clearly say on the 050 box that it is an ADDITIVE and does NOT require a developer...it turned out sooooo pretty tho!!!!!!! I'm honestly SHOOK!
I have the bottle right here and you do need to mix with developer it's not a direct dye.

She said go to a professional to lighten your hair and then come home and color your hair, as a hair stylist we tone the hair before you leave the salon, we don't just lighten the hair and let the client walk out without a toner
I just watched a video where the person said they will charge extra for toner/coloring. My sister also went to a salon and they charged extra for the coloring/toner.
Yes, since we have to use more product is an extra fee,, but as a professional we are supposed to tone the hair before the client leaves the salon

Not true. You can very much so pay to just have a bleach job. 😅 Just as you can go get you're nails done and ask them to leave unpainted so you can go home and paint self.

Hi, I would like to know how much toner and developer should I use for my bangs (they are side bangs from the middle part and between thick and not thick) do I use the whole bottle of the toner like in the instructions and 2.8 of developer or?
Very nice!! So it was bleached, then toned with T14 then you used 050? Just making 101% sure. I always use T18 but will try T14

It also depends on the color or your hair. T18 removes yellow tones T14 removes orange tones
What toner would counteract the red, red orange? I'm letting my gray hair grow out, my hairdresser put on a silver toner to blend the demarcation and get rid of the warm orange and red tones. Getting to find a toner I can use at home

my sisters hair turned out a mix of copper and grey hair at the roots. what did i do wrong? was it the bleaching or?
Zazel Ramirez Bleaching, yes. If it turned a copper color. that may be bc the hair wasn’t light enough to get to a silver/gray. so when you applied the wella cooling violet over, it toned it to the copper color. I’ve seen this happen from past experiences.

ciara walker I did shampoo and condition her hair, but not with anything specific for her hair type or color. It is recommended to use shampoos and conditioners targeted for your hair type and color to prolong the color and health of your hair. Thanks for watching! 😉

hello, what level do you think my hair has to be lifted to so that the 050 additive will deposit in color? do i need to tone my bleached hair first?
050 is basically just blue pigment, so hypothetically it should add ash tones to any level of hair, but I am not a professional and don't know for sure. I had ombre dark brown to blonde with ugly orange in the middle and 050 it turned a nice ash brown to silver.

@@allisonkim7775 I’ve tried 050 on my hair that wasn’t light enough to get it silver/gray/blue. I was probably at a level 7-8 with brassy hair. It toned my hair to a nice light soft ash brown/blonde but is nothing close to how it turned out on my sister. Get your hair to a level 9 or so to achieve the best silver/blue hair.

@@allisonkim7775 in my opinion, yes. The undertone is what will affect the result. I’m not a licensed hair dresser but base on my experience tone the hair to a nice blonde then wait a 2-3 weeks to tone with 050. The wella toners are harsh.

30 developer only lifts the hair and doesnt deposit color. For the least damage you should use 10 volume.
Only use 20 or 10 love a 30 won’t do much to your hair

It will lift your hair underneath, which you don’t want. You only want the pigment to deposit so I suggest using 10 vol

stephanie monasterio Hi! 😀 it's a 1:2 ratio so if you use the whole bottle of toner which is 1.4 fl. oz, you double the amount of developer which will be 2.8 fl. oz.

Cali_nayxoxo so I applied toner and color separately. Toned the hair first, wait 30min, wash and dry. Then color using 050, wait 30min, wash and dry.

Cali_nayxoxo I applied the toner and color separately, I didn't mix them together in the same bowl.

pinkpam I decided to dye my hair gray but after bleaching lot if it would stay only one month than it's not good there is way to dye your hair gray and it's stay for long time?
BTS ismylife these days there are quite a few dyes that are actually gray, One 'n Only Argan Oil has a nice grey color

BTS ismylife just know that no color is gonna be totally permanent and avoid fading on that light of bleached hair(the level it takes to go grey) the hair is just too porous and open to hold color for long, even black dye will fade. This 050 additive is a permanent color, just not on this light of hair
