So happy to hear your business has really taken off. I know it's hard to juggle all your responsibilities but you're doing great. Keep those videos coming Kayla.
I am just getting back to all things decorating. I did take a class in Fort Worth Texas from Ryonet and realized maybe heat transfers are more my speed. I will give screen printing another go try. I have a single press. You are awesome. Keep growing.
I use polysol transfers as well, they have not let me down, my only complaint is small letters in the front chest logos, they tend to bleed together a little. I just got an order for 350 tshirts so I placed an order for a doul platen heat press, to speed things up. I have no desire to learn screen printing. My new hooping method for thin garments is to turn the shirt inside out and add a layer of stabilizer using temporary spray adhesive. That way it doesn’t stretch when you hoop it and it keeps the fabric from moving while doing small letters. Keep up the hard work.
Hi ma’am.. so happy for you. I have laser, woodworking, sublimation, embroidery and screen print in house. Screen print has been the most time consuming job to learn and deal with. Between purchasing chemicals, printer, ink, software, and equipment..well sometimes it’s better to purchase the transfers.. I have a 4 arms machine and dryer but I only offer 1 color because I feel it’s a better bang for my time and profit. Just thought I’d share my thought with you. 😊
I appreciate your insight! The reason I want a press so bad other than the cost of the transfers is to save on time. I know it's time consuming making and registering screens, mixing inks, etc, but you can get a lot more shirts done in an hour versus cutting all the transfers, lining them up and measuring them to be straight, then pressing. On a good day I can do about 20-25 shirts an hour. I've watch many screen print videos where they're doing 100ish an hour on a manual.
I love watching you! Any advice for getting local sales. I’m not good at online marketing and I’ve been sending flyers to market through email but not getting any inquiries. Any help is appreciated!
Awesome 👏🏼 good for you with another big order you deserve it. what size needle did you use for the small letters? Looks great Where did you get your hats?
Great job on all the business! I have been wanting to offer more shirts that I could order screen prints for instead of vinyl. I am still confused on pricing-do you charge the customer the actual price of the transfers plus your time in making them? Thanks for any info or a link to any videos you have on pricing structure.
Thank you! Yes I absolutely charge that to my customer plus markup! I'm a for profit business. Say it ends up being $7 a transfer. I'll mark that up to $10-$12. Say a shirt is $4. I'll mark that up to $8. So my customer is at ~$20 a shirt. Then depending on how many shirts it is. Then I factor in my time. If I can do 20 shirts at hour and I charge $50/hour that's $2.50/ shirt. So my final total per shirt for the customer is about $22.50.
@@JLCCrafts oh yay!! We will have to grab a meal together after one of the conference days! Do you have a general or a VIP ticket? I think staying at the same hotel as the conference is easier but it's up to you!
That's really good. I need to be overwhelmed. I want to try and do local embroidery because online is nothing right now. I think you had a video on how to get clients. I don't understand screen printing transfers. Not DTF?
Nope! It's probably hard to see in the time-lapse but they're taped on. I measure them at my table, tape it in place, and bring it to my press. It's just hard to move the camera back and forth so I didn't show that.
Hey Keilla, this is Juan Carlos. I have a quick question. I have the TC 150 one and I am embroidery on some canvas bags. I was using the hoop and I had to canvas bag that got eaten by my embroidery so I reduced the size to sea hoop what is your recommendation for a canvas bag it has pocketsI took the seam and took the pocket apart. It’s big pocket.
Hi Juan. I'm a little confused as to what you're saying. I would start by doing a test stitch out first. If your bag is being eaten by the stitch out, you most likely need to adjust your tension.

Thank you Angela!
Those small letters are so clean and easy to read
Thank you! 65/9 needle and 60 wt thread make all the difference!
It's a huge order for us one person embroiderers, and when it all needs to be in the same room,
Totally!

It's definitely a great option! I so hope to have an actual screen print press within the next year
Congratulations!!!

Hi Kayla, why do you prefer screen print transfers vs DTF? I haven't tried the screen print ones, yet.
I like the look and feel better! I still use dtf sometimes, but definitely prefer screen prints

Thanks Lucy! The Richardson 168s I got from SS activewear I think. I always use a 65/9 needle 😃

Do you plan to go to Deco Summit this year?
Thank you!! Yes I am!! 😃
@KaylaKrische I plan to go as well. Should I make reservations at the Summit Hotel accommodations?

@KaylaKrische I don't know yet, Ricoma invited me, so I'm assuming it is general. I'm looking forward to meet you in person 😊❤️.

I definitely prefer local vs online! Yes they are screen print transfers. Not dtf. It's actual plastisol ink just like in screen printing.
@@KaylaKrische Interesting. I will have to look into that.
What is the durability for the screen print transfers.
So you eyeball were to place the screen prints on the back and front or do you use a tool to place them?
Nope! It's probably hard to see in the time-lapse but they're taped on. I measure them at my table, tape it in place, and bring it to my press. It's just hard to move the camera back and forth so I didn't show that.
I think you mentioned this before, but where did you get your bearded skull hat stand?

Mabe it was in another video but do you digitise for the embroidery yourself?
No I don't. I send it out.
@@KaylaKrische Thanks as I am starting but thinking to do the same ;)
Do you ask for deposit or full pymt 1st?
Always payment in full.
