Regarding the truck cleaning fees, the terminals expect the trucks to be cleaned to "professional detailer" level clean. Lenoir City is particularly picky when inspecting the truck.
As for using points for parking it can take months to earn enough points to pay for parking even once

Ok guys, seems like there are a lot of people complaining about the paychecks! Solution? One thing that gets me is having accepted a preplan only to be told it was given to another driver, spending my drive time going to locations to find an mty, when the person who sent me the directions didn’t first check to see if there were any mtys available at that location first! Spending hours of my drive time driving to a load that has been cancelled or pushed out is also a bummer! One more, trying to get home but I’m being sent preplans that get me home 3 days later than I planned for, dr appointments aren’t the same as the old days!

If you are driving to get an empty, you are supposed to be paid for those miles; same with a trip that gets cancelled. After you reconcile your pay statement, if you have not been paid, you should contact your dispatcher. They DO make mistakes, especially when you are dealing with multiple people.

Can’t believe you are not doing the trip planning books anymore. For every driver that you say doesn’t like them I can find drivers that used them on every load for years. I’m sure I could find plenty of things to cut cost on at Crete before cutting a trip planning book that drivers do use. I would cut the security gate for Lincoln Terminal to save money. The cleaning fees charged at different terminals are really inconsistent. Always $300 plus at Lenoir City and $125 at other terminals. Perhaps a standard fee should be set company wide. Or maybe the company should realize a truck getting dirty is just overhead and part of the job and not charge fees.

    • @LawrenceHanson2
      @LawrenceHanson2 4 месяца назад +1

They've actually addressed that in previous episodes. They can't standardize the cost, as each location costs different amounts to clean.
Don't forget that most employees are paid per hour. And each state has different per hour rates.
What costs $150 at one terminal, cost much more elsewhere.
I see your point, but I see theirs too.
The simplest solution is to make sure you leave your truck spotless, take Photo evidence, and make the terminal manager do a walk through with you present.

Why does Crete assume drivers with 5 yrs OTR experience know it all and have done it all? When you hire someone that’s how you pay them. I have combined 33+ yrs OTR including 19 1/2 yrs as an O/O and over 3 million accident free miles including 13 yrs and 7 months with Crete previously yet I am started at the same company pay as driver with only 5 yrs experience. I only returned because my last truck was getting too costly to repair and I had some familiarity with what I would be getting into. If you want to improve your safety record and costs in general paying more for experience might be something to consider.

Weekend dispatch has GOT TO QUIT IGNORING US! There are times on weekends when i get no messages from them for two days. Its ridiculous.

When Eric answered about the paid parking in the North East, he said "you should be getting enough points for at least 2 days a month"
That statement really makes them sound disconnected. He made it sound like we only need to be parked 2 days in a month.
I've only had a problem finding a spot a couple times in the last year, but I'm national, and I am a night driver, so I park when the Solar-powered drivers are driving. I don't really care about the parking. I just don't like how that segment made them sound.
    1. Loves does not do paid parking, so that just leaves us with Pilot and TA points, which is not enough for daylight drivers who are in the NorthEast a lot, especially since divers don't have control on what brand they get those points.
    2. With all the talk about driver shortage, there is even less parking.
    3. I feel that it is as much of a safety liability to not reimburse for paid parking as it is to shutdown for weather. And since they have started pay for that, they should be paying for parking.
    - Although, maybe with the stipulation that only if they are shutting down from 1700-0500. Or some such, in order to minimize abuse.
    4. Maybe they can have an opt-in program like they do for perdiem and pets. - 0.5cpm deduction to enable reimbursement for parking.
