Finally found someone whom I can relate to in my French experience. It is so true. I came here as non-french student and ended up working and living here ☺️and French are so kind and welcoming for English speakers in my experience
I'm so glad you could relate to this, almost always French people are so so lovely and welcoming. I hope everything is working out well for you here :)
Nice tips 😊 I am in a very similar situation as you! I moved to the French Basque Country 2 years ago with my husband. We were only engaged at that time and I couldn’t work due to my visa so I was teaching English to Chinese children too! Happy to see other English speaking expats here 😌
Great video. That was my experience as well. I studied French to A2 level before going there (not to live though), but i found people, even in Paris, were really open to speaking English with me, or speaking slowly in French to help me understand, or just reverting back to English! ha ha. Then when they found out I was Aussie, it was over. All they wanted to do was find out more about Australia!! ha ha
Oh wow, I can't believe I found this vide!. My boyfriend is also French (and his mom lives in Annecy ☺️) but I haven't had a chance to visit yet. I hope to find a job in France but coming from the Caribbean is really hard. Most companies don't want to go through the paperwork of hiring a foreigner... AND I teach English online as well! lol Thanks for making this video, it's giving me hope ^_^
Such a small world!! It is tough the paperwork! But, you can probably get a visa being with a French citizen, best of luck and I'm glad the video helped :)
You are very lucky to have moved to an area where people are able to speak English and to have your boyfriend. There are lots of areas where people don't generally speak English. Annecy is gorgeous!
I got a ? before I leave Europe I'm taking a train from Amsterdam to Paris for night I don't speak French at all I want see Paris one night before I come home and see Eiffel Tower so how hard to order food and get around going to be and does apple translate or google translate work to talk to people
I really love your energy and your smile. I consider coming to France. I will also love to teach English online. Please how do I contact you privately thanks
Hello. Thank you so much for the motivation and guidance. I have moved to France since 1 year and 10 months. I have been struggling to remember the french words and definitely to save the words in the long memory we need a french person to practice with because that person will correct you the moment you make a mistake. The issue is also the french accent because the vowels and nasal words connects because of the rule of grammar as you mentioned in your video makes it harder to catch a word or a phrase. The job part is struggling indeed now trying to connect with few websites to make an earning by teaching English. I would love to teach English but unfortunately don't know from where to start to become an English teacher. Quite confusing. Lost in the middle of language build up and career too. Please any advise would be added advantage to save me from being in the lost forest.
Hi Mohammad, I have exactly the same language struggles - you're not alone! As for the English teaching online, recently China's policy changes have made it hard to foreign teachers as they have essentially banned foreign teachers in China. However, I have recently applied to a new company called, 'Cambly' which you may want to look into. Aside from that, email every bilingual school in your area and see if they're hiring language assistants. I hope this reply is helpful and thank you for watching my video, it's a great support to the channel. :)
@@abbeyfrancis Much appreciated on the reply and providing support in such struggling circumstances. Secondly will look into the cambly and language assistance too. It's very unfortunate to know about China policy on limiting foreigners on teaching part. I wish you the best in the learning French and hope one day we could speak fluently and share the memories on the struggled we facing now. All the best.
Thank u fr ur wonderful info, I live in Singapore, n I'm trying to learn sum french online as in d app dualingo, dats helping me alot, bt soon wil b goin to tke d course, I'm tinkin of moving there, bt I dont knw anyone there, so dat wil b difficult
Hey i am arpit from India. M planning to study in france. But i need little clarification: will we be able survive in france without french? En if possible can i please talk to you ?? If possible please help
You can survive without French, but I recommend starting to learn the language as soon as you can, just to make daily life a bit easier. Feel free to reach out on Instagram!
If you say "bonjour" not Hello but "le_bonjour" in French, everything will be fine afterwards. Everyone will try to understand you, to make themselves understood in English, by gestures, no one will reject you, on the contrary we will help you and if we correct you when you speak French badly it is nice, to help you progress . A piece of advice for all foreigners, there is the province and PARIS. The Parisians are not appreciated because they think they are superior to the provincials when most come from the provinces. Be careful not to talk too much about PARIS especially if you go to the south and more particularly to MARSEILLE. PARIS IS NOT FRANCE
With regard to teaching English to Chinese people, would you be able to let me know approximately how much you can earn with this? I am wondering whether I would be able to sustain myself in France with just that income as I would be living there alone. Thanks
Hi Jennifer! At the moment, it is very difficult to live off the salary that Chinese companies provide. Recently, they have had big changes to the rules on foreign teachers...my salary has been cut in half. Your best bet is to look into a company called 'Cambly' which is not based in China. You can earn enough to support yourself, but you will have to put in the hours with Cambly. I hope that helps - feel free to reach out to me on instagram and I can give you more guidance :)
What should I do if I want to live there ?? I badly want to live in France but it’s really hard for me because non of my family living there. Plz give me so advice sister 😭
Non of my family live here either, but it is possible to move to France. Maybe you can consider becoming an au pair and living with a family until you find your way alone in France. Don't let any fear stop you!! :) x
Do you know which websites are best to find ESL teaching jobs outside of Paris? I am an ESL teacher (TEFL certified) with 7 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school students in 🇰🇷, but have finally decided it's time to leave come next summer. I have been trying to research this myself but I'm struggling to find any job openings on all many websites I've tried, so they can't be correct.
Hi Sarah! I'm really sorry, but I don't know any specifically! Perhaps you can check out this site that helps foreigners find jobs in France, www.misterbilingue.com/fr - I hope that helps and all the best with your move :)
I would agree that there could be a lot of communication issues if you were moving to a small town in the countryside of France without speaking a word of french for example.
I think I'm more just meaning moving to France is going to be a lot easier if you have someone or know someone there. That person could be a partner, friend, family (if you're becoming an au pair) etc. That is not to say that you can't do it if you don't know anyone - it is very possible!
Abbey, please I want to move to France, can I talk to you privately for your assistance on how to do that pls🙏🙏 I'm in Dubai what to come from there.. this is my whatsApp pls. You video is quite encouraging.
Ur so beautiful thank uuu and i luuv ur voice and smile🥺💚
Aw thank you so much

It's so nice to know that we are not the only ones out there, it does feel like that at times!
step 1: get ✍a french✍boyfriend✍
Hahaha it helps ;)
It was all the steps!!!🤦🏾♀️
And his supportive family and friends.

Glad you liked the video and that it was relatable!! It's very true, as soon as you say you're an Aussie - it's over haha
Thank you so much for this. I wish your a wonderful life
So nice! Same to you :)

I for sure can! I might do a whole video explaining my online English teaching journey/business :)

That's okay! Since you will be in Paris, it is a big city with many tourists so almost everyone there will speak English! Enjoy :)
Lovely video. Thank you very much.
Glad the video could help! Thanks for watching :)

Can I also meet Kylian when I move to France
Having a Killian is helpful ! But you can easily find your own by connecting with French people or just expats who have been in France for a while :)
If you say "bonjour" not Hello but "le_bonjour" in French, everything will be fine afterwards.

Paris is overrated, I much preferred Leon
@@splashpit LYON, pas Leon.

do you like France or you will move out?

In the cities, it's this was... Outside of them, in villages.. it's not so welcome, open, kind... No. Speak French or go to the city
I would agree that there could be a lot of communication issues if you were moving to a small town in the countryside of France without speaking a word of french for example.
Coucou depuis Vieugy (Seynod)... South of Annecy 😊
Ahh tysm for the video i didn't even know there was a long-stay visa here I was thinking I was gonna get married at 20 xd
No you don't have to get married at 20 haha :)) I'm so glad I could help xx
Hmm, probably the most important tip here is to have a French significant other. Not necessarily an option for everyone!
I think I'm more just meaning moving to France is going to be a lot easier if you have someone or know someone there. That person could be a partner, friend, family (if you're becoming an au pair) etc. That is not to say that you can't do it if you don't know anyone - it is very possible!

I'm glad the video helped, I think you should talk to the official French consulate in Dubai to get the right information about visas etc.
So tip number 1: Get a French partner
I would just say that it is helpful to know someone who speaks French and can help you to communicate when necessary :)
Im french i can help you
Can I get kylian's number
