    Thanks Charles! Very timely video. Grafted for first time in Feb 23’. Following your method. After 2 months 4 out 8 took. Removed all the materials from graft and just have been watching. But now to ensure I further my success I’ll follow this video. Dorset apple. Grafted Fuji and Pink Lady. Then Pixie Tangerine. Grafted tangelo and golden nugget. In Santa Clarita Ca zone 9b. If you ever get some dead time….lol…all us long time viewers would love a summer or fall front/backyard tour/update. Roses fruit trees veggie areas. I know it’s not instructional/educational but it is motivational and inspirational. I’m up to 30 something trees on my 6000 square foot suburban lot. Mostly in front yard. Just retired so I have time to manage all the vigorous growth. Definitely attribute this passion that I acquired from watching those early citrus videos you did. Take care.

    Cable ties/ zip ties work great in securing the scions in the rootstock plus its a quicker application to the wraping of the fising line too

    Ok I see you’re steeping up your game with the varieties. I added Tia Penya to my collection this season too.

    I need advice on how to keep my lemon trees protected from the Santa Ana winds in the fall/winter. I have them staked but do I need to create a trellis? Shade cloth? Greenhouse plastic? The best idea I saw on line was the way they protect and grow the Amalfi lemons in Italy. Not sure if that same system will work in Southern California.

    I have a question I’m hoping someone can answer. since you can graft all stone fruit pretty much on one tree would that mean they can all cross pollinate one another like cherry to peach or plum or vise versa or is that separate ? Any knowledge would be appreciated since I can’t seem to find any online

    Are all 10 varieties grafted onto 1 variety that had 10 branches?

    • @firstname7769
      @firstname7769 11 месяцев назад

      It doesn’t need to have 10 branches already for you to graft 10 varieties onto it. You could graft all 10 varieties to a single branch; you would just need to use a different type of graft, for example chip-bud graft.

      Hello Chuck 👋 YES! Success rates may not be as as high- but yes, it’s doable. Use scions that are lignified (hardened- not green) from between 6 months to 2 years. Keep me posted!
