As funny as this guy is and as hilarious as Bruce is roasting him, it's very scary that he actually thought it was a good idea to get behind the wheel in his condition. The cops clearly saved someone's life that day by arresting this imbecile.
To be fair to the drunkard, most drunks and alcoholics don't recognise that they are drunk until they are on their knees with a face stuck in the toilet or a trashcan. Even when they are zigzagging, they'd still say "I'm not drunk, I'm fine". Which is why there needs to be an advanced plan and at least one friend that will stop you from getting behind the wheel after drinking.
@@annak8755 My experience with certain drunks, mainly the ones that are naturally stubborn, egotistical and lacks self awareness like this guy, it wouldn't matter if there was one friend or several, he or she's going to drive that vehicle no matter what. Nothing short of an aggressive physical restraint, as demonstrated at the end by the cops with this individual, would be able to stop them and that is what's so dangerous about these people.

My thought exactly. Imagine him realizing that he killed someone. He seems to be kind in general, his soul would have been broken.

I know how serious DWI is but when that kid started verbally taking his eye test I was laughing so hard I was crying. And then Bruce comes on with his narration and I laugh/cried even harder. I have to thank you for sharing this one.
Just in case anyone was confused, he bought that ENTIRE car. He didn’t just buy the windshield, the transmission, the passenger seat and a couple spark plugs. He bought the ENTIRE car. This information is very relevant to the stop and to the case. So I just wanted to make sure it was understood.
I was confused and you explained that he bought the ENTIRE car, and I was relieved. Thank you!

I used to be a bartender and now I work with special needs adults… The parallels in how you have to talk to both populations is uncanny. Nobody understood how I could instantly be so good at a job- they didn’t know I had an intense 10 year training.
I used to be a bartender too. Dealing with drunk people got to be too much… I applaud you for your new career choice!!
@@Jennifermcintyre drunks r fun if ur place cares about employee safety. If it doesn’t it’s terrifying lol. But a few places I worked it feels like a daycare, like the other guy says lol
This made me laugh so hard tho. I imagine special needs adults are probably easier to deal with than super drunk people 😂 I’d say a lot of drunk people I had to deal with when working at tgi Fridays was more akin to a preschool. Especially when fights would break out. So glad I didn’t stay at that job long (I was only 19) and now that I’m in my 30s I don’t even drink at all anymore. Me or my partner. It’s sad to see how normalized alcohol is and how many people have a problem with it they don’t even realize bc it’s made to seem normal to have a drink w every lunch and dinner or after work. Or during work even. Nightcaps. Celebrations. Advertising wants us to think it’s a necessity. Girls night out means drinking. Golf with the boys means drinking. Even Chuck e Cheese serves beer! Why??? It’s a children’s location, why do we need alcohol at a kids spot? Do people hate their lives and kids that much they can’t go one evening without a beer? But most don’t even look at it that way.
Anyways. I don’t mind if people wanna drink once in a while but if someone is drinking every single day or 5-7 days, there’s a problem there. There’s a stress or an emptiness or an addiction that needs to be addressed. Unless you’re from Italy where you’re drinking a glass of wine with dinner since you hit double digits lol maybe they can get a pass? 😂
@@HeatherHolt no, you're so right. And when you do finally admit to yourself that you have a problem, alcohol and/or drinking is everywhere. Imagine being a recovering meth or crack addict and having to be around it near constantly. It's rough.
I don't think you're too far off. Alcohol shuts down the part of your brain that helps you function "normally" and within social contracts.

That's the correct temperament to be a cop. Great job.
There's a few out there, I call them 'superhero cops', because they have the attitude of a superhero from comics (overly positive and upbeat in an otherwise no good situation). That officer was out to save lives that day, not to work out complexes from a lifetime of failures as some other pigs are seen doing. Not every cop is a pig and most definitely not every cop is a superhero cop, just pray you wind up with a honest cop or you'll see who the real thugs in america are.

I had a DUI many years ago and they made me take the MADD class (mothers against drunk driving). Never again after that class did I take a sip of alcohol and drive a vehicle of ANY kind. It shook me to my core. Everyone who gets a drivers licence should be required to take the MADD class.
They have classes for everything, when I was a teenager I got caught lighting fires and part of me case was taking a firestarters class at a fire station.. and the class was actually fun. But this was almost 20 years ago now.
What do they talk about? I just remember DARE being so lame
Nah screw that i have common sense
Some people can’t emotionally handle that so making it required is definitely a terrible idea. There’s a reason it’s only required if something happens. If it would be traumatizing to someone you probably don’t want to make them do it as a possible preventative measure. Or someone who has already lost a loved one to that it’s definitely not cool to make them relive possibly/probably the worst day/experience in their life to be able to get a drivers license.
I agree. I remember being show horribly graphic car crash vids in high school. Scared the shit out of me.

My Aunt was killed by a 24 year old DRUNK DRIVER at 3pm in the afternoon on 5/25/1999. The guy served 10 months after he killed her and wounded her 3 kids in the back seat of the car and left them w no mother. The POLICE OFFICERS in this video are saving LIVES !! I thank them for doing their job ..
I’m so sorry for the loss of your aunt. It’s an even bigger insult that the guy got only 10 months.
My cousin was killed by a drunk driver in 2002 right before his 22nd birthday. The drunk driver was a kid who could afford the right lawyers, and he ended up getting 4 years to serve in HOME CONFINEMENT and he got his license suspended for 10 years. Not only did my aunt and uncle have to deal with the loss of their son, but they had salt rubbed in the wound where the kid who did it got a light sentence.
I love the officers who are saving lives from impaired drivers, and I’m glad that sentences for vehicular manslaughter from DUI are getting stricter and stricter.

My brother was run off the road by a drunk driver with 10, yes TEN, previous DUI convictions. The drunk left the scene, went home, sobered up and then called the cops, 6 hrs later. The rest he was at work which was 1/4 mile from his home. Got his wife pregnant and everything during those two years. I had an awful time. Had just gotten out of an abusive relationships and it was at the end of 2001 and I had a small dance studio in an old mining town I had opened in 1991. The depression and the grief and the opioid crisis I got caught up in for self medicating while waiting 6 months for a mental health evaluation. I lost everything I had built from scratch at 21 years old and plus my reputation I had built that 10 years I had my business. Losing everything didn’t help on top of my father’s loss and feeling hopeless. I am one of the lucky ones that did get out and have stayed clean for almost two decades. I often wonder if our health care system was an actual system if I would’ve even got caught up in all that but no sense doing the what for and if only’s at this point. It’s been 22 years this past November since my father’s death and I am back amongst the living again. Took lots of therapy and a great psychiatrist. Instead of a rehab for the 3rd time I decided to do a psych hospital and it was the right choice cause I still credit the referral from there to my current psychiatrist for saving my life. I know I put in the work but still. Then having to actually face all I had been suppressing was a mountain to climb but I made it. I’m safe, loved and still work at controlling my emotions. Don’t dance anymore but I have found others interests. I miss that little dance studio I had built but the building it was in burnt a few years after I closed but it would show up in my dreams at the beginning of my recovery. Again thank you for your kind words. They truly mean a lot to me. It’s amazing how life can change in the blink of an eye.

When I was pulled over for my DUI in my early 20s, I went through the whole finger to nose, alphabet section, and stand on one foot thing. When I had to stand on one foot, I just looked at the officer and asked him if we could just agree I was drunk and move on to the arrest part. He was so cool, cuffed me in front, called my mama to come get me, and had my car parked in a restaurant parking lot instead of impounding it.

I found it funny he kept talking about being from Wisconsin. I lived there for 30 years and did DUI assessments. Sadly, Wisconsin at the time had very lax drunk driving laws, which allowed for many repeat offenders. It wasn’t unusual to see folks with four or five prior DUI’s. I heard that since then they have tightened up the laws, but I’m not sure. It’s very true what you said about the number of bars. In parts of Milwaukee it was common to see a bar on four corners in a neighborhood. At every outdoor festival, including the State Fair, beer is easily accessible. In the old breweries, employees were allowed a bucket of beer during their work shifts. Beer is an integral part of Wisconsin culture. The beer cheese soup is to die for!
How about boating while drunk? Just curious since there are so many lakes.
@@gwenverde7970 I don’t know the stats on that, but yes, that was a problem also. I took a canoing class with my nine year old son. We all paddled up to an outdoor bar on the river. I had soda but everyone else, including the instructor, had beer. Then paddled on home.

Lived in central Wisconsin for a year and the rate of drunk driving was absolutely insane. "Being part of a protected class of white male software developers..." I almost peed I was laughing so hard. This was such a joy to watch, obviously not for him but still. Its refreshing to see someone not be belligerent and viciously drunk. I hope he downloads Uber.
did you watch the ENTIRE video till the end?..
Yeah...he did not stay pleasant the whole stop.
That was a great line 😂😂😂😂
Hopefully not as an uber driver lol
25:50 they just having fun now and i honestly enjoy it myself😂
You make me smile with each one of your episodes. Love your humor.
I know he's obviously toasted, a bit of a hot mess and clearly shouldn't be driving but I can't help but like the guy, he's very entertaining, especially after seeing all the obnoxious, belligerent, entitled drunks on RUclips...He gets an "A" for effort 👍😂
Thats what I was thinking too! So over all the dickheads, just a funny guy gets manor props 😂😅
Agreed
I think thats why he was given a warning. 😂❤
He needs his own show,somehow
It's actually extremely scary how chill this guy is. He must drink and drive ALL the time. He doesn't have a care in the world. I knew immediately that I was getting a DUI when I was pulled over drunk and I blew a .20
About how many drinks would you say that was (a .20)?
@@iUnderstandThey say a drink an hour puts you at .08/the legal limit. So it all depends on the time he was drinking
If he had 2.5 drinks in an hour he would have been .20 (.08+.08+.04=.20)
I am pretty sure he said six, but maybe in more hours than one. Who knows? Probably this dude doesn't even know. That would be .46. Wow! @@BoomShakalaka777
I think the cops prolonged the test for their own amusement. He failed within the first 10 seconds.
@kristinn3367 he failed before getting out of the car. Lol. Its just crazy how chilled out he was at first. He was so drunk it didn't even click on his brain that he was about to go to jail. When he freaked out later that totally makes sense. Took a long time for him to understand the situation though. Glad they caught him. Definitely could have killed someone
Love your grandma stories. It’s one of your trademarks!
The way he is doing the pen test like a football announcer got me rolling, I haven't laughed so much in a DUI video 🤣
I want nothing more than to see this guy reacting to this video and hearing his thoughts
I had a friend from college who got two DUIs like 10 years apart and had a BAL of over 0.3 both times and STILL didn’t admit that she had a problem until halfway through drug court. Last I heard she had finally gotten sober which is incredible. You have to drink so much so often to be able to function in any capacity with such a high BAL!
People who can function at 0.3 have got to have a crazy tolerance. Some buddies and I were "testing" a breathalyzer our security department had bought and one guy decided to see how high he could go. The guy was puking and completely out of it at 0.2, let alone 0.3.
Should go without saying but everyone who did any "testing" got driven home.
Sounds. Like he was in the services😂 The way he recites everything!
Love your commentary Bruce, you are the best lawyer
When that boy said RIGHT CENTER RIGHT I almost choked on my food and died. Have a good day everyone
And then down
I am also a lawyer and hear how they didn't know what they were doing because they were drunk. I regularly tell them, next time you go out, prevent the DUI while you're sober and can think clearly. If you suspect that you might drink, or get high, leave the car at home. $50 for an uber is less than an hour in my office. And if you're going to get this drunk, be nice to the Uber driver and don't vomit in their car! I think all DUI arrests should be posted to youtube because the shame will keep them from doing it again
“1,010 which is 10 seconds maybe?” Had me fucking rolling 😂
Terrible that he was driving like this but he was so nice and cooperating for much longer than most of these
I'll never understand why they don't go straight to breathalyzer.
Not all departments have portable breathalizers (and even big departments usually only have a limited amount), and they have to have reasonable suspicion to detain you/arrest you & take you back to the station (or hospital, if theyre doing a blood draw) to their machine.
I saw this about 3 weeks ago and I laughed my ass off. I know it’s not funny, per se, but I think you can’t get a better cop than this kid did. 😊
I went to college with a guy who was top of our class, amazing person, would do anything for you etc…when he turned 21 and he knew he’d be drinking he arranged for a limo to take everyone home at the end of the night. When he got home, a girl called him looking for a ride cause she had broken down (she wasn’t part of our group) he got in his car and went to help, hitting and killing 4 men on their way to their early morning shift at work, so instead of graduating a month later, he was in jail and those poor men lost their lives for no reason. HE WAS HOME!EVERYONE WAS SAFE LIKE HE PLANNED, tell her to call a tow. WTH was he thinking. So preventable 🤦♀️💔
Wow!!
Your great to watch and enjoy all your episodes. You and Micheal are amazing.❤️
Bruce, you are so on the mark. I unfortunately got a DUI years ago in Florida, and it costed me so much of my life and money. I came to terms with stuff that was going on in my life and stopped using alcohol as a coping mechanism. I got out of that abusive relationship. By far the worst part is that I could have hurt, or worse, another person or myself. My kids wouldn't have a mother, and the reality they would have for the rest of their lives would be that their mother drove drunk. It was the gravest decision I ever made in my life. That being said, it takes no effort to be polite and respectful to the police, which I was. They even told me that I was not a bad person, but I made an irresponsible choice. That fact carried a lot of weight in the favor of my case. I'll never forget my wonderful attorney telling me, after the Plea hearing, that sometimes something good can come out of a bad situation. (I had to edit my post. Sorry Bruce, my attorney was Rick C. , so I put his name first since you are both so awesome).
I am glad to read that you got out of that bad situation. Life is never perfect, but drinking too much only can make things worse.
I had a similar situation as you, really changed my life. I was also very polite and respectful to the officer. They didn't tow my car, didn't lock me up, and drove me home afterwards. I appreciated how much they did for me and how respectful they were of me. Even considering my situation, being nice to one another made the situation so much easier. Happy you got yourself in a better place. Grateful I am in a better place and I'll never make that mistake again.
if you got arrested for anything again from that point on cops treat you like a career criminal that's been arrested 100 times. They only give you that bad choice shit once. Its just in certain states they call you a criminal dirt bag but the let you go because of the system there, like NY. CA. Ive been arrested a few times multiple years a part. and now 10 years living a clean life and when tey pull up your history they treat you like a dirt bag, almost seems like they want to evoke you to do something illegal in their presence. They don't ever think your reformed, and that's not shocking with who they deal with most frequently. but its kinda bs.
Let’s go, Allison.
I got a DUI and instead of stopping drinking I just stopped driving lmao
He was hilarious!! Watching it with you narration ..priceless! Thanks Bruce and Michael ❤
Love it when Bruce laughs!
I watch this episode whenever I am in need of a giggle along Bruce!
